Hey guys,
up for sale is my ACG Finn SC fretless 5 string.

It’s no secret that I’m a massive ACG fan, I’m only selling this to fund a new more suitable build (shorter scale and with more strings), so absolutely no trades please :-)

This bass is absolutely beautiful with a sound to match.
It has a 33” scale which makes it easier to play than a 34” and brings a nice sweetness to the upper register, without sacrificing any tension on a the low B as the thing is so bloody well made!
It's a set neck and has a lovely carved heel providing great access to all the notes at the dusty end.
The body is deeper than normal, 50mm, however it’s chambered which I believe really adds some warm and presence particularly suited to a fretless bass.
Here’s some sound samples >> https://soundcloud.c...retless-samples - apologies for the playing...

The bass has ACG's EQ03 filter preamp, it's a veritable swiss army knife, allowing you to really dial in on that perfect fretless tone. It has two low filters, one per pickup which lets you set up the bass for two extremely different sounds, or blend the two for a really complex and detailed tone.
You can read more about ACG's filter preamps here >> http://www.acguitars...es/electronics/
and you can download the PDF instructions for the preamp here >> http://www.acguitars...df/ACG_EQ03.pdf
In simple terms the preamp takes the best of Wal and Alembic filter preamps and really delivers a useful and powerful way to discover great tones.

It's currently strung with DR Sunbeams, but I have some Fender flats cut to length which I can include or fit instead.

The bass is pretty much mint, it has been played a fair bit but has never been gigged. There’s some marking on the fingerboard from playing with round wounds (basses are made to be played though), however I’ll give the fingerboard a nice oiling before it goes out.

Here’s the specs >>
Top: Tasmanian Burl Myrtle
Accent: 4mm Sycamore
Body: American Cherry Chambered
Neck: 5 Piece Maple/Bubinga with gently rounded asymmetrical profile
Fingerboard: Ebony with Maple fret lines and zero (flat) radius

Price includes a Hiscox hardcase, but I can supply a Fusion F1 gigbag for an additional £50, and won’t ship without one or the other.
Shipping to UK only, at this stage, at buyers cost, but will consider shipping overseas.

Price: £1300 - again, no trades please!

What's the nut width and string spacing at the bridge?

k..
Hey mate, the nut width is 45mm and the spacing at the bridge is 18mm, standard ACG setup, very comfortable on a 5er.

Cheers,
Eude

Relieved this is a lined fretless, otherwise my bank account would be hurting right now!

I could always colour them in for you?...

But then the side dots would be in the wrong place!
That might require a little more work, leave it with me ;-)

This must be one of the few Eude basses I've not had a go on, but if it's like the others it will be immaculate and a beautiful instrument. Eude is a genuine bloke and a top banana to deal with even if he is the size of a hobbit :o and requires non-manly scale lengths.

beautifull bass.

What is weight of the bass. ?

What about the balance of the bass, does it suffer from any neck diving, playing it sitting and standing ?

Al the best

HI Svend,
I've just weighed the bass and it's a little over 9 pounds or 4.15kg in new money.

As far as balance goes, on a strap it's perfect, no neck dive whatsoever, on the lap it's a tiny bit tricky because of the smaller lower horn, but no more so than say a Warwick, and the thicker body helps compensate too.

Cheers,
Eude
