1. I've happily gigged a single 1x12 with a loud rock band (one 4x12 and one 2x12 Guitar cab, drummer without a volume control...), albeit with PA support. It was a Baref***d Super Compact and it was superb. Others may disagree.
2. Neil Murray, Jah Wobble and Timmy C. Impressive little artist roster already. Nice one Alex
3. Very nice - love the little handle on the front of the Piccolo
4.
Here's a tip for the WT550. Don't sell yours. You will realise afterwards that it's a great amplifier - even if you do have too many amplifiers already!
I concur!
5. This is looking ace, lovely work
6. Cool I agree re the single speaker out (same on my RM800) but I believe they may have rectified that on newer production runs. I can't afford one of these (or anything right now sadly!) but know there's something else in the offing which I very much want above and beyond one of these. But it would be fun to have one
7. I'll bet. If I ever have money again and one comes up I might have to dip my toe in the water! Love the ABM500 so can see that this would be a bloody awesome monster
8. 12", 6" mid and horn I believe
9.
I heard the 500 in action last night, plenty of grunt, drive and twang. Sounded great in the mix which is the true measure of an amp.
Yep, it really does sit very well in the mix. A nice balanced tone with no nasty boom or harsh mids. I really do love it still
10. Replacing the valve is easy to do yourself
11.
No idea...but I've recent;y got a Retroglide 800 and its luverly....in a 1984 way...
You need to do a NAD thread! I'm very interested to hear what these are like, as are a fair few others
12. Nice one Kev - cracking set up you have there
13. Sounds like a cracker of an amp
14.
New company and new products from the previous owner of Genz Benz. http://www.genzleramplification.com/ aside their amps, the cabs are quite innovative, this one in particular. a 1 x 12" + 4 x 3" neodymium cross over array! http://www.genzleramplification.com/product/BA12-3/BASS-ARRAY12-3.html?cid=17
There's a thread on here elsewhere; the array cabs have a passing resemblance to BFM cabs IMO
15.
... and so it is done
Good work. If you don't like, then, well, you know where I am.... Ahem. Damn.

18.
Watching this with interest. Mike builds lovely basses and is a top bloke to have a natter with.
That he is. A good 11 years ago I was seeing a young lady in Brentwood and she had to work one Saturday so, at a loose end, I headed up to Mike's shop and spent a very enjoyable couple of hours noodling on various amps and cabs and he gave me a tour of the workshop. Given I only spent £50 whilst there I have to say he went way above and beyond accommodating me! Top fella, and his basses and cabs aren't bad either
19. Yes John East's active blend is ace. I really wanted a passive bass but Aan said exactly the same as Mike and suggested this option. It works really well and I haven't looked back
20.
Re Tolex Araldite it. It will outlast the cab.
Good call. It'll outlast humanity too probably
21.
I miss your MB Fusion, too...
Haha
