  1. Page 2 😊 And according to this link, Steve Martin also plays upright bass (I just learned that Steve Martin also plays banjo, guitar and mandolin as well). Mark
  2. Link to above quote, but there's really not much more to it. I did not know that about him. Mark
  3. There's a bunch of other actors as well including Gary Sinise and Jason Momoa. Keanu is in a band called Dogstar. Mark
  4. I just read this entire thread. I'm really not sure why I didn't stop at the top of page 1. SMH *walks away* Mark
  5. Found some low profile ones - if you're willing to do your own soldering. Mark
  6. Folks, I'm looking for a bit of help with finding out what the string spacing is on the very catchily named *deep breath* Jackson X Series Concert Bass CBXNT DX V bass. I've been able to find out almost everything about it except what the string pacing on the thing is. Does anyone here have one they could measure for me? Or does anyone just have the information I'm after? Ta, Mark
  7. This genuinely had me laughing out loud! Mark
  8. I took the Bourbon in question to be one of these … Mark
  9. TIL that tuner pedals are a thing. Never heard of them until now. Mark
  10. Something new arrived for me today … East Uni-Pre 5, black. Mark
  11. Different situation to the OP - I have a knackered right shoulder, not a beer gut - but I've found the side slinging works for me. It's a little tougher getting to the lower notes of the neck, but I kinda know what I'm doing down there anyway, it's the higher ones I need to look at the fretboard markers/see the strings for, and the side slinging helps with that aspect of play. You can even make it work - in a fashion - playing sat down with a strap. Mark
  12. A nice cup of tea. If I'm feeling particularly good that day I may have a biscuit or two for dunking as well. Mark
  13. Spotted this Ibanez BTB846 on Fb marketplace. I obviously cannot say it is the one that got lost, but I can't say it's not either, so … Mark

Bridge! New bridge day. Las Vegas > Louisville > Philadelphia > Stanstead > Castle Donington > Newtownabbey > My House One more piece of the puzzle for my self-build falls into place. Mark
  15. I just answered my own question. D'oh! I carried on searching after posting my question and found this link to a data sheet on the Peavey site. *sigh* Move along, nothing to see here. Mark
  16. Just a quick Q on the Peavey Millennium BXP 5-String bass, which I did a quick search for here but did not find an answer for. Are the bridges on this bass top loading as well as string-through body? They look like it to me, but I've not seen any photos of it where it's not string-through, so I thought I'd just query to be on the safe side. Mark
  17. I would also include this band too. Mark
  18. Def Leppard, Larkin Poe, MonaLisa Twins, Terrorvision, Is The KLF still together? if so, them, The Proclaimers, KT Tunstall, Aimee Mann, Thunder, Fiona Apple. Main headliners would be Def Leppard. Mark
  19. Accurate! Went to see them when they played Maine Road in '92. Took to the stage well over an hour later than billed. Mark
  20. Never mind the bass, I wanna see more of that climbing wall! Mark
  21. I'm gonna echo what the bass player says at the end of that track and say, I love that one. Mark
