  1. Absolutely this. Thanks all admins/mods for jumping on this so quickly - suppose I should also give a shoutout to the "server guy" too. 😂 Mark
  2. A flight case for £23k 😂 Mark
  3. £24k for a neck. No body, neck only. Some of the numbers on this auction are staggering. Mark
  4. More for Admin/mod awareness, but BC had a brief outage … Mark
  5. ^^ This. ^^ £159 for a 5-string fretless, better than butchering a beloved bass you are keeping for sentimental reasons, no? Mark
  6. Mark
  7. What about a 10-string one (5-string+octaves)? Because if 'yes' we can take this to DM to discuss. 😁 Mark
  8. Does such a thing exist? Mark
  9. My Vox AC50 amplifier head and my Vox VR115 speaker cabinet. Neither of these get any usage these days. The amp head hasn't been used in so long (was in England with my mum for 20+ years just being stored for me) that the internals all need a good seeing to by a more qualified person than I. It's the only amp+cab that I've ever owned, and it sounds immense. I'd really not want to get rid of it if I had the choice. My Washburn AB-35. I love playing this bass so much. My frozen shoulder has meant it hasn't got the attention it deserves recently, but soon, hopefully. Mark
  10. Hello there! I joined the BB owners club in November last year … Mark
  11. Hello and welcome. Mark
  12. If the OP is using Windows then GarageBand isn't an option, so will have that hurdle of drivers to contend with. I don't envy them this process, I went through something equally frustrating with video editing when it transitioned from analogue to digital, so I understand their frustrations somewhat with this. Mark
  13. The OP states they are using a Focusrite Scarlet, which is "class compliant" so yes, it would work, and indeed does work, as I have this setup and works with GarageBand no problems. Mark
  14. No bother. I also bought Black Glass (live acoustic). I suppose it would've helped if I could remember the names of the people in the bands so I could've tagged in my post. I've got your Chapter & Verse EP lined up for a 2025 purchase, together with Money for old Rope by The Inevitable Teaspoons, which is another forum member's band but again I can't remember who so no tag. My memory's terrible! Mark
  15. Not me. Mark
  16. A couple I missed off my original post above that I think deserve mentions … Deadlight Dance released an album called The Wiltshire Gothic, which I really liked and subsequently purchased via Bandcamp. Def Nettle released an album titled DN001, which I again really liked and purchased through Bandcamp. Both the above bands are from members here on BassChat. Mark
  17. +1 for a shoutout to Postmodern Jukebox, I never knew of them before they did their cover of Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar on Me (which I think was last year? Maybe?), anyway, been listening to them now and again through the year and really enjoy what they do. Terrorvision released a new album this year! We Are Not Robots. This band has been a part of my musical landscape since their first album in '93, and I was very happy to get new music from them again after a (checks the Internet) 13 year break! Dea Matrona released their first album this year, For Your Sins. "Dea WHO?!?" you might be asking? Local band from over here (NI), I really like their stuff, and they released an acoustic EP as well earlier this month. Mark
  18. I got me some Rotosound Tru Bass strings for my Washburn AB-35, which I'll fit the next time I'm going to use it. Mark
  19. I'm still recovering from a knackered shoulder, but I'm also in the process of composing my first original tune, and I'm going to use this bass for that, so once I have anything recorded - that I'm happy with - I'll be sharing to be torn apart. 😂 Mark
  20. Hello and welcome. Mark
  21. I don't do Spotify* but following on from the same title of the thread that was posted last year (I haven't seen one of these for this year). I use last.fm to track my played music through the year, here's my top 5 artists for 2024 Def Leppard Queen The Who Pink Floyd Pearl Jam Mark *Other music streaming services are available
  22. See, I can understand this, because neither was I at first. In general I'm not a huge fan of scratch plates anyway, but this one just works so much better than the 1025 I was looking at. I'm very happy with it (I may have said this already). Mark
  23. This all came about rather by chance than anything else. I was working (I WFH) one night and during a quiet moment I had my personal laptop open browsing the BassChat Marketplace (idly browsing, I was not in the market for any new purchases) and I was looking at this BB 1025, and The Wife came in to say good night and she saw me looking and rolled her eyes at me 😂 I showed her some more images and said I'd always like the pickups on these, so she said good night and turned to leave the room and pointed to the screen and said get it and I'll give you the money and it'll be your Birthday present. I was a bit shocked, but not enough to argue with her, so I contacted the seller. The sale was going well, until it wasn't. Nobody stepped forward to offer assistance, but I contacted that seller again and suggested I arrange the courier myself. The seller was onboard with this, until I asked for the packaged bass dimensions … and then he stopped replying to my messages. The Wife said "just look for another bass!" 😂 Like it's that easy! Turns out, it actually was! Following her advice, somewhat downheartedly, as I'd set my hopes on the 1025, I happened upon this marketplace add for a BB1025x! Contacted the seller, they were happy for me to arrange courier, provided packaged bass dimensions and weight, and the sale went through, with the resulting obligatory NBD post. I love this bass. I love the black and chrome aesthetic of it. I love the sound of it. My Ashdown has been put in its case and into my wardrobe and the Yamaha has taken over use of the stand. I've changed the strings for my usual Rotosound Flats and I've added strap locks. I really want to change the cloverleaf tuners, but can't find any direct drop-ins that aren't also cloverleaf as I don't want to be drilling extra holes in the headstock. But this bass is ace. I had my heart set on the original 1025 I linked above, but after having this for almost a month now, I know this was the better choice of bass for me. But you probably didn't come here for stories, and as I'm a firm believer in PoiDH, I have some new photos to share … (Apologies for the slightly fuzzy nature of the images, it turns out I now need to be wearing my glasses for photography 😟) There's more images in my Flickr Album. Shoutout to @david1711 for being a fine gent to deal with and putting up with all my messages to get this posted to me. Mark
  24. And don't forget to record it. On Video. 😅 Mark
