1. Excellent - thanks for doing this. It's good to see the Squier Jag holding its own amongst such exalted company.
2.
We are a Beach Boys tribute, UK, Europe and the gulf states. Happy music, keeps us happy!
Excellent - and nice shirts!
3. There was the time when the drummer counted us in and I started playing 'Gimme Some Lovin' and the rest of the band started playing 'Everybody Needs Somebody To Love'. Then there was the time...... errr, how long d'you have?
4. Break out the wet'n'dry and got for the brushed aluminium look. Unless it's steel, then it'll go horribly rusty
5. I used to play guitar in a Madness tribute band.
6. This looks interesting. What sort of paint are you using?
7. Would the stainless steel fretboard be good for metal?
8. I've just sent the link to MrsB.... she's actually in the next room, "working from home".
9. I have the BG250 and there's no problem with running any tone print with any, or all, of my pedals engaged.
10. You might want to read this, it sounds like just what you're looking for.
11. Fender Rumble 200 Combo fits the bill, me thinks. Add an extension cab if you start playing bigger venues.
12. Does it have to be a bass player? i.e. Could you write about Joe Meek? If the person who's marking your work knows a lot about Jaco or Jack Bruce then they will know if you've missed out any (what they think) is important and mark you down accordingly. (Mainly 'cos they want to show off how much they know (perhaps).) If you take the road less travelled then there's more chance that it'll be new to them.
13. I've just recieved a G&L JB-2 from Tom and I must add to the praise heaped upon him. A fabulous person to deal with. The bass was in the post, in a gig-bag, the next morning and was wrapped such that it could've been driven over to no ill effect. Tom also sent me the tracking details so that I could follow it's progress. The bass is in absolutely perfect condition. Thanks again Col

J dilemma
Maybe i should go back to EMG's, probably not helping that my main bass is a 4003 and this jazz hasn't the warmth the Ric has. In the past the jazzes ive had have not been so bright sounding, and whilst not sounding like a Ric haven't been a million miles away. Ive tried bringing up the mid's and dropping the treble at a gig last week, but a friend who was the sound man commented on it being very toppy and boomy at the same time. Ive read some good thing's about dimarzio type J's . Just never had a problem with a bass so bright before other than an early SB2.
mmmm.... DiMarzio Model J's: £100 Fender Flatwounds: £20 ....worth a punt, surely?
15. Pints on stage invariably get knocked over sooner or later. We have a "bottle-with-tops" only rule for drinks on the floor.
16.
When you guys order a pint you don't tip the bartender? Blue
Never!
17.
I don't like sunburst, but strangely I have GAS for the honeyburst version...
Ah - you'll be wanting one of these then......
18. You could always have it reliced, then you wouldn't worry about the odd extra ding or two!
19. This is the only place I know (here), but it's in the US. EDIT: beaten to it by a better site!
20. Well - this thread just inspired me to have a quick word with MrsB..... and I'm hoping for a NBD soon. Woot - woot!
