  1. They have a habit of doing that - no lefty Kurt Cobain signature Mustang when that first came out.
  2. Hi James, First of all, sorry for your loss, but that's a lovely story and great memories. I had a small guitar shop for a couple of years and always had some left handed stock available. Sometimes with beginners they wanted the guitars demonstrated. I was amazed at how quickly I became able to put a few chords together. I think with the motivation you have this may be easier than you expect. Good luck, and keep us all posted with your progress. Mike
  3. Going down a Country flavoured rabbit hole on YouTube and currently enjoying this:
  4. Louis Armstrong on BBC4. Bit cheesy presentation but the playing is sublime.
  5. Yep, recently closed my Facebook account as it is becoming such a cesspit. Good luck with your sales.
  6. I like that a lot. May limit you to two gigs a year but...
  7. Ebony will be stunning, and suit the overall aesthetic. Fantastic work @honza992
  8. Seems like it does - I thought the dimensions would be way off, but seems I'm wrong. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/51-p-pup-in-a-jazz-bass.488251/
  9. £15 to go into what is basically as market seems a bit wrong to me (even though I have to begrudgingly pay it for antiques fairs).
  10. Where's that "See me after class" emoji when you need it?
  11. Great story over on Instagram of the singer, bassist, songwriter Adi Oasis - let down by airline, so performs her whole set at a Polish Jazz Festival in her hotel bathrobe! https://www.instagram.com/p/C9j0sDtIL1C/?igsh=MXJld3k1azYzZXVtaQ==
  12. Yes, thought the 100 was a bit heavy, even for US tipping. The old trick here, where people will put £1 coins in a tip jar is to put a couple of £5 and £10 notes in before the jar starts going around, encouraging a bit more generosity.
  13. Or does @Bluewineknow the oldest trick in the book, and chuck some notes in first to attract more of the same? 😏
  14. I'll see your Keith and Tex and raise you Keith on his own:
  15. Maybe not shocking, but surprising that there has been such a complete shift in the most consumed music is created.
  16. Hasn't it been this way for years? I went to the original Capital Radio Jazz Festival at Alexandra Palace - very late 70s or early 80s. BB King and Chuck Berry were among the headliners. When it transferred to Knebworth I saw Jimmy Cliff and the Average White Band. Plenty of jazz as well (Lionel Hampton, Benny Goodman, Dave Brubek) but always a few bigger name mainstream acts.
  17. Personally, I think it has done a pretty good job of sorting out something that was originally pretty horrific. Hats off to AI on this occasion. Still wouldn't want to perform it!
  18. I don't know if singers do need a break as I'm not one, but I'm not a fan of the break. Lose momentum, lose punters, and as a non-drinker/non-smoker what do you do for 15-20 minutes in a busy pub where you only know you band mates?
  19. Something I've never needed, wanted or knew existed - and I now have Gas For it 🤨😆
  20. You have just sent me down a very bad rabbit hole - Glen Campbell's 12 string Deacon 🔥🔥🔥
  21. I'm in an even smaller minority - I love their solid electric models!!
  22. That's a very fine example.
  23. Not something I've ever read into one of your posts. You always come across as open and genuine.
