  1. My son introduced me to NZ band Leisure on our long drive home from Newcastle. Sort of more mellow Jamiroquai vibe. Lovely bass playing. Not their best track, but they seem to self release their own stuff, so more stuff on Bandcamp etc.
  2. Nice work. And hey, the video has a dog in it, so all good 😎
  3. Very cool (as is the graphic). It felt so familiar that I wouldn't have been surprised to have heard it on a Christmas special of TOTP2.
  4. And later on, via a sample, Chas & Dave, Labbi Siffre and Eminem.
  5. As per the title. Will be staying overnight before picking my son up, so quite fancy seeing a local band. Will be staying at the Gosforth Park Hotel, but happy to drive (as I don't drink). Folk, Funk, Blues, Americana, originals? Sorry, not standard pub covers thanks, just not my thing.
  6. I worked for a short time for the guy in the darker yellow T-shirt. He worked with Marley as promotions man at Island records. Not too envious...
  7. This, plus in my case, losing around 4 stone.
  8. I could never buy a Wal. 1, I could never afford one, 2, that headstock!!!
  9. The smell is absolutely nauseating.
  10. @neepheid just beat me with the same phrase. Great minds...
  11. Do you have a lounge/kitchen area? Food and drink only in that area. Your studio, your rules.
  12. Sorry for the boast, but I have a credit on this album 🙂
  13. Ah, sorry - your fault for making such a popular thread 😎
  14. This thread is now a bit too long to double check everything, but I'm sure neither of these are on here yet: Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - I Need You Love So Bad Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You
  15. Peter managed to keep a little bit of magic in his playing in the early 2000s. I worked with him and @mybass on a couple of albums at that time, and, yes, it was hard work, but the flashes of brilliance were still there.
  16. That's a shame. A.S.S. are decent promoters. Sadly, having seen John performing in his mid 80s, I don't think you missed much 😟
  17. Two fabulous tracks from way back when. First up, a masterclass in duetting - Billy Eckstine and Sarah Vaughan, Passing Strangers. And another great Jazz singer, with one of her more popular, less Jazzy outings, but still a gorgeous track, Ella Fitzgerald, Ev'ry Time we Say Goodbye, complete with that fabulous line, 'but how strange the change from major to minor'
  18. It's the accent on the 2 of the second bar that gets me. 3/4 can often sound so lumpy, but this makes it move beautifully.
  19. Exceptional artist. Worked with some great players, producers and arrangers. Love the drums on Just a Little Loving from Dusty in Memphis. Probably overlooked for many years due to her personal life which is very sad.
  20. Welcome to the very small club - thought I was the only member!
