1. Have you tried www.bassgear.co.uk? They sell the basses, so I imagine they could source the strings without much trouble.
2.
I've decide I want a 5 string proper (i.e. unlined) fretless with graphite neck - what do you think my chances are ?
Status Graphite is the obvious choice there, either a whole bass or one one of their necks to retro-fit
3.
Likewise.. I almost exclusively play fretless, so I take a fretless to gigs. Never been a problem - fretless isn't ALL slidy slidy!
Pus the one
4. That seems like a hell of a lot of rig for the money!
5. Old Horse Murphy is looking for one of these.
6. I love Sandberg stuff, but the leather and now denim coated basses are truly awful
7. I believe "Chromes" is just the name for D'Addadrio flats, but be aware they are quite high tension (may not be good for the bridge on an ABG) and have a brighter tone than many flats out there. I would recommend tapewound strings for a more acoustic vibe. La Bella black and white nylons in particular are great strings, but there are plenty of other brands out there too!
8. I have a brand new Richter strap for sale: the Supreme II. Even though the leather is thick, it's super soft and caresses your shoulder wonderfully. The strap is 9cm (3.5") wide, and adjustable between 100-147cm in length. It's particularly suited for us with heavy basses. It's black, made of buffalo leather outer, with a sanded brown buffalo leather interior. It grips the shoulder perfectly. These are £80 new, and I am firm on £[s]65[/s] £60 posted Thanks Gareth
9.
Status seem to have a problem with E's and B's, both were dead in a pack of flat wounds I bought recently.
Never had a problem with their roundwounds, but the last set of flats I bought from Status had a dead E.
10. They are my local shop, but I've only been in a couple of times in the 18 years I've lived in the area... Once was to help a mate buy a Taylor acoustic, and the other was to try out a Jack Casady: they looked after me just fine both times. I sent them an email a few weeks ago asking about a bass and never received a reply...
11. I sold a Bassbone to Tom. As previously, great comms and a very smooth transaction. I would happily deal with him again
12. Do these strings have silks? Is the low B tapered?
13. I sold a gig bag to Paul. A total gent and the deal went through as smooth as you like. Thoroughly recommended.
14. As above, does anyone know of a flatwound string that has no taper (or at least very little taper, no more than an inch) and no silks at the ball end?
15. Anyone know of any shops that have these in stock? I need the 5 string set.
16. I have two Richter straps for sale: a Supreme II and a Saddle II. Richter straps are easily the best I have owned, and the only reason I am selling is they are wider than I need for my current (very light) bass. Even though the leather is thick, they are super soft and caresses your shoulder wonderfully. They are the same width (9cm, or 3.5") and length (100-147cm) just made of different leather combinations. Both straps are in excellent condition, only stopped from being mint by the use of straplocks on both, and an additional hole drilled on the adjustable strap on the Supreme. Supreme II: Buffalo leather outer with sanded brown buffalo leather interior. Saddle II: Bull leather outer with Nappa leather interior Supreme strap II is £80 new and I would like £55 Saddle II is £65 new and I would like £45 Postage is extra, or included if you buy both. Thanks Gareth
