I had a 6 string Energy. Lovely bass, wide and flat (shallow) neck profile, similar to Status Groove bass. Fat tones (very versatile eq) and comfortable balanced body. I’ve liked all the wooden necked Statii I’ve owned, don’t know why anyone would consider them not a proper Status bass.

Right, that’s Ave Maria off the set list.

I’d just come off stage, he was about to go on. The BL wanted one with Wilco & Sir Norm -
I actually have 3 😁 1 fat black leather for fretted P 1 less fat but sturdy brown suede for the fretless 1 skinny cream leather for the acoustic 6 string.

None. I sit down on stage, in front of my music stand.

Apparently Samick bodies/neck assembled in USA with decent hardware.

Not seen one of these before. I like it! https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132942506816 looks like there’s already a conversation about it.

Pants are Grants. Grant’s pants maybe worth more, and despite his diet, structurally more sound.

I would dispute the assertion that expensive basses come into their own in a studio. These days plug ins and programmes can shape the sound to pretty much what the engineer wants. Had last weekend in the studio with an artist recording onto logic. I used 2 very different basses on 1 track. And they both ended up sounding the same in the mix. 1 was a cheap bitsa P, the other an old (but much more expensive) Ali necked Kramer. I think the main differences for me in “expensive over less expensive“ is the comfort of reliability, due to build quality (generally speaking). But then again QC is improving in mass produced cheaper gear, and old TE gear will survive Armageddon. IMHO of course. 🤪

Not if it’s locked after it’s sold I’m guessing.

Says he’s in no hurry to sell, just as well😆

SOLD As title. Great little portable device for recording onto iPad or iPhone, via headphone socket so you can keep your device charging. Runs on 2 AA batteries and has 48v phantom power option. Just did some remote recording work with it and client very happy with results. I have since bought something else that connects to iPad and Mac so this will not be used anymore. Only 4 months old. Boxed with instructions, ready to go. P&P included

Bassist friend of mine was a Warwick and Ibby fan boy, recently got a USA fender 5 string. He plays nothing else now, complete convert. He has an endorsement with a manufacturer but hasn’t told them he doesn’t play their bass now. That probably doesn’t help your decision making and it’s quite a dull story, but he loves his jazz 5

Thinking of you at this difficult time. Try not to fret.

Using a click in live situations can be perceived as a criticism of ones abilities, however being comfortable with can open up possibilities of using other medium in a show, or midi files. It’s just another tool.

Good point. One experienced player I recently recorded with has her click emphasised on a part of the bar that wasn’t obvious to me. But she said that after some trial, and lots of error, she found her own way of using a click if it’s only going to her monitoring. She’s perfectly able to use straight 4 crotchets if whole band need it, and is also able to keep time without a click. Point is if they’re new to it, give them lead in time before gigging and allowing them find what works might be helpful.
