  1. I think just you playing the autoharp will do for starters Jack.
  2. 1976. 15 years old with my first bass. Made by Gary Nava, school mate (now makes bespoke instruments for people like Matt Bellamy). 2024. My last gig before retiring from live bass duties.
  3. I had one of these…. Ended upside my head
  4. I constantly asked for separate vocal rehearsals with just an acoustic guitar. But was met with resistance, or guitarists turning up with full kit. 🙄
  5. I left my last band (which I put together) due to excessive volume from both guitarists and keys player at rehearsals and gigs. Since leaving, the lead guitarist has taken to using 2 amps (AC30 and a similar) and got the other guitarist an extension cab. The keys player an additional Lesley. Lead guitarist refuses modelling as it’s “not authentic”. It just became a cycle of ever increasing levels as they compete with each other to be heard. The bvs can’t hear themselves in rehearsal but that didn’t seem to bother anyone. 😡
  6. Simon bought an iPad Focusrite dock from me. All good, paid quickly and good comms. Thank you. John
  7. Oi! There’s only one ‘O them round ‘ere.
  8. Used itrack dock with power supply unit. Lightning connector. Great devices these, easy to use and usual focusrite quality preamp. The rubber surround of these units get sticky over time, I’ve had 3 and they’ve all done this. It doesn’t affect performance of course. iPad not included, just for demonstration purposes. £30 posted The iTrack Dock Studio couldn't be easier to use. Capture your performance in exceptional quality 24-bit audio with sample rates of up to 96kHz and an exceptional dynamic range of over 105dB. Simply dock your iPad, connect the microphone and headphones, plug your instruments straight in and start recording in your favourite apps such as GarageBand, Cubasis and Auria. Alternatively the easy-to-use Tape By Focusrite app provides instant simple recording, mastering and sharing without the complexities of traditional music-making software. The unique halos around the gain knobs turn from green to red if you get too loud, while the high headroom instrument input captures the quality of your instruments with minimal risk of distortion. The stereo outputs bring powerful audio to your apps. Dedicated monitor and headphone controls let you easily switch to latency-free direct monitoring, which is especially useful when recording vocals. The pack contains two Focusrite microphone preamps that also provide 48V Phantom power for use with condenser microphones. iTrack Dock also charges your iPad, powers a USB device and integrates with most class compliant USB MIDI controllers, all without needing a USB hub or camera connection kit. 9. Bought this off here recently to see if I could resurrect it. I love the TA501 tube compression and the flexible EQ. The issue is that although it powers up and the fan works, it makes a whining, static and crackle sound, similar to tuning an old radio. I cleaned contacts, changed the tube and power cable, but the issue remains. It’s likely to be a capacitor issue. I was going to take it to my mate who repairs amps for a living, but realistically I’ll likely never use it since giving up gigging bass. So yours for £50 collected, plus £10 pp and I’ll include a spare tube. Comes with power cable and manual.
  10. Here’s a nice jazz bass that I put together with a body from VM fretless and a CV P neck (with Gotoh machines heads). It’s got new set of D’addarrio steel rounds (I can’t remember the gauge but likely medium). Plays great, sounds great. I’ll weigh it later, and measure the nut, but it’s a P neck so wider than a jazz…. I broke the policy of 1 in 1 out and got 2 in, so this is excess to requirements sadly. Plus I need funds to pay for my self indulgent album I’m recording, so I give you a nice bass, you give me money and I’ll find a drain to place the cash in and watch it get swept out to sea along with the rest of the countries turds 🤣 £180 collected or £200 posted as I have a box to put it in.
  11. Thanks Binkers old chap. Think I’ve got a home for it now. Cheers John
  12. It would suit a community studio or school perhaps? Absolutely nothing wrong with it, lovely Eden warmth with plenty of air shifting through those 10’s. I guess these days, PA and in ear technology has improved as has the introduction of class D and Neo in bass backline, saving back breaking weight.
  13. Eden Nemesis NC810 combo 390 watts. Trouser flappingly loud! Got this off @stewblack for band rehearsal space. I’ve since left the band and it’s not being used. I tried to sell it to raise a couple of quid for a music charity but no bites. So, if this is of use to anyone, then let me know. It’s collection only as it’s a beast. However it comes with a cover and has wheels when tipped back so is remarkably easy to manoeuvre. You’ll need a large estate at least to transport it.
  14. Gary bought a preamp off me. All good, straightforward transaction and good comms throughout. cheers John
  15. £25. I’ve had this in my Kramer 350B for 30 years. Great preamp. I decided to change it out for a Bartolini BTB with pull passive switch, just for a change. 2 band stacked pots for T&B and a 500k Volume pot. Comes with a choice of side fitting barrel jack and a top loading pickguard fitted jack, both stereo obviously. I’ve also included a spare battery terminal and some knobs.
