  1. I agree with @Beedster, don’t bother with either. Also looks like you’d need to get a bus from the string to the fingerboard on both of ‘em.
  2. I’ve had one bass and one EUB custom built to my specs. Both very nice, but didn’t hang on to either as what I actually needed was a MIJ 62 RI P and a double bass with a good pickup and decent case. But got carried away with the ideas in my head, rather than the realities of my actual needs. No regrets but unlikely to commission a bass/EUB again as I can get what I want off the shelf. Having said that, I have commissioned a fretless Uke bass from a mate. I have asked for a decent pickup and discreet lines. Other than that he can do whatever he likes, he make great Ukes and not a lot to go wrong. Should be ready next year for a significant birthday as the wood is still seasoning apparently.
  3. First one might be good for unloading the drummer by the looks of a previous thread you posted Jack. 😂
  4. Where is that available presently, would love to watch that. Fabulous band.
  5. Think I’ve exhausted Prime’s catalogue of “Classic Album” documentaries. I even watched Iron Maidens’ Number of the beast (making of) last night. Really not my thing musically, but seemed like a good bunch of fellas and without the histrionics or hairspray of their American counterparts. So hopefully SkyArts will have some stuff I haven’t seen. Not sure I can watch the making of Aja again 🤦🏻‍♂️
  6. Jealousy is unbecoming of a gentleman, ............according to some ijit somewhere. Well Jel! Congrats (kind of) 🤡
  7. Been doing loads of remote recording for people since April/May. Some quite interesting stuff, some more “straightforward”. Been rehearsing with a drummer and pianist for past 4 Monday mornings. Pianist penned Weather Report/Metheny jazz type stuff. Completely new genre to me, but I wanted to stretch myself, so it’s certainly doing that. Think the idea is to record an EP. Band I normally play with has had new album delayed by 12 months so far, but I believe that there are some percussion tracks to be recorded in September then mixing and mastering. Probably won’t be released until there are some live dates to promote it at? Looking forward to hearing it as it’s got some fabulous players on it.
  8. I wish there were more pictures. It looks like a pretty good job from the one image. I’m tempted to have a look as I’m near Taunton once a week....it’d be a fun twin neck.
  9. “I’m going now, it’s ok I’ve packed up my mic” ”I’m going to the bar now, it’s ok I’ll pack up my mic later” ”No it’s fine, these guys have got it covered, ....so your name’s Estelle? Well “Estelle”, let me show you my mic” “Thanks for letting me use your mic bass player person, I’ll let you pack it up, as I overheard you say earlier that you know where you’d like to put it” Obviously I don’t count singers as musicians.... General public generally don’t approach me at gigs. 🥳
  10. Pardon me sir, isn’t this the “Cantona and Choochoo” thread?
  11. Gone. New and unused set of Presto Balance Hybrid strings light gauge. I’ve got too many sets of strings for my needs. £60 posted
  12. You should, It really “kicks”
  13. The 2nd “difficult” album
  14. The Artist‘s nan bassworks? Bless her, should stick to knitting.
  15. Don’t you O’press me! 😡
  16. Is anyone allowed to just “like” music anymore? Asking for a friend. They’re a bit wishywashy tbh. They went to Rock against denturewearing in the late 70’s (you know the type)...
  17. Who are these people? Cheap and unnecessary.
  18. I can hardly contain my indifference to EC and have never heard of P Bridges. But she sounds a class act with the “dead baby song” jibe. Way to go Pheeeebs, must have you round sometime. 🙄
  19. Not difficult in my case 🥳 cheerz
  20. Have I missed something here? I was pretty impressed by his capacity to listen and hear parts, and to log the form and breaks of a reasonably complex piece, in one listen then lay down his own interpretation pretty much on point. What are the reasons for people’s indifference to this? Genuinely interested. I’m getting the feeling I’m just easily impressed 😂
  21. On my watch list.
  22. Thanks for sharing that. Really enjoyed it. He gives the most profound and yet simple advise to ALL musicians.... “Listen” -to what else is being played. -to lots of different genres to have more options at your disposal. And Practice.
  23. It’s ok Stew, couldn’t think of a better fella to see your bass over the last line. Have to say it’s been great seeing the relay develop. 😎
  24. Young @BreadBin letting go of a bass...now that’s worth a photo 😂 That BC kinda suits you Brendon. 😊
