  1. Solitaire - Neil Sedaka
  2. Final bump. Please don't make me go to the evil empire.
  3. Stinks of blatant ker-ching from arschloch to breakfast-time. Much like pretty much everything associated with that fine ambassador for our instrument.
  4. Pushbike Song - The Mixtures/Mungo Jerry/etc
  5. Set Adrift on Memory Bliss - P.M. Dawn
  6. The Model - Kraftwerk
  7. Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats & Dogs - I'll get my coat
  8. Me too, I really liked it. Thanks for the link, it was nice to hear it again! "Let's face it, Noddy's the biggest ram round here and he reckons he's scored."
  9. How do the Welsh make cheese? Very caerphilly.
  10. Oh yes... many, many good memories there. I can still remember the thrill of seeing SOLD OUT written across the billboard for the first time. Such a nostalgia rush.
  11. I've always really liked the original, but that version is an absolute belter. I bet the live energy is fantastic.
  12. 3 hours drive, 4 hours on the train... I'll pass
  13. My strap is a Maruszczyk PES40 'Retro' much like this. 4 inches wide, lots of padding. I have several heavy basses and this makes all of them a breeze to wear. I used a Comfort Strapp for many years, this thing is more comfortable if anything (although I would also heartily recommend the Comfort Strapp).
  14. Year of the Cat - Al Stewart
  15. WANT! Oh my god, that's my perfect ska bass ❤
  16. My Thunder 1A has a single split pickup, but it ain't no Precision. For me, unless it's a Fender or Squier Precision, it's not a Precision. Now waiting for pedants to blow holes in my argument
  17. I should also mention that the fabulous Lawrie Keys at Tempo in Southall had been kind enough to lend me a bass for the night, so if the Wal hadn't arrived in time we'd still have been able to play.
  18. Chapel of Love - The Dixie Cups
  19. Yeah but... Oh bog off [/runs out of vocabulary]
  20. Minute by Minute - The Doobie Brothers
  21. Harsh! But entirely fair
  22. Waaay back in 1987, our extremely good rock-pop band played a gig at a now-long-dead venue in Reading (the Majestic, for anyone who remembers it/cares) one evening - afterwards all the stuff gets loaded into the van ready for the next gig in London a few days later. We get to the London venue (the fabulous Red Lion in Brentford, RIP), all the stuff comes off the van... except for the long black case with 'Wal' on it... frantic phone calls all round, eventually in desperation I called the Majestic... "Ah yes, it's sitting in the manager's office...". A mate goes to pick it up, races up the M4 and puts it into my hands 5 mins before we go on... From then on, my bass ALWAYS came home with me. As a side note, that was the night I first met my ex-wife.
  23. If it was Cardiff-ish, I'd be up for it.
  24. I’m Going Slightly Mad - Queen
