I tried Fuzzdog's optocoupler bypass, and their buffered bypass, neither of which did much. I reduced it a bit by adding 5M pull down resistors on the send and return (I used 5M because they were the biggest I had in my resistor box), but there is still a pronounced electrical click/pop. There's only one pedal in the chain, and it's a Zoom MS-60B. I guess I'm going to find out. If it does, great, and if it doesn't, well I like to tinker anyway. Never happier than when I'm soldering my fingers to bits of wire. OK, but I still have no clue what "implement ‘divide by two’ logic" means and am too old to learn.

I'm still trying to de-click my send/return loop pedal switch thingy, it's better than it was but still not great. I happened across this circuit board which appears to be just the ticket -- jack input/outputs to 'Input' and 'Output', send and return to 'B_In' and B_Out', and a momentary footswitch attaches to, errm, 'Switch', and that appears to be it. Oh, and a 9v supply. On paper, it appears to be the ticket. I wish it was available as just a PCB, as all bits are easy enough to source and I like soldering . Anyway, I've ordered one to give it a whirl and will report back.
  3. Of particular interest, the new MS-60B+. Bax have the guitar version, listing here. I imagine the operational description will be common to all the new + units. If those 'scroll' buttons do what I'm hoping they do, they will be a massive improvement on the current unplussed version - its patch cycling is its real Achilles' heel. @Dood, if you can get your hands on one of these for review, I will be all ears. Eyes. Whatever.
  4. The place we used the other night (Firebird in Bristol) has a range of different bass rigs to choose from. https://firebirdstudios.co.uk/category/equipment/amplifiers/bass-amp/
  5. Agreed. I have hidden all the ACG-based comments, as they're just muddying the waters.
  6. A bit of tweakage to my JayRay fretless. As it was based on an OLP 'Ray, it was originally passive... I'd intended to either buy a Stinger preamp or make one on vero, but then I rediscovered the 2-band EQ from my old Yamaha RBX765 lurking in the spares box, so I've fitted that instead. I'd forgotten how powerful a preamp it is. Absolutely brought it to life. I love tinkering with stuff, especially when it turns out as well as this has.

Tried it out at rehearsal last night. Overjoyed with how it sounded through my main rig. ❤️

  7. I was just about to ask about lengths and then remembered that google is my friend Apparently: 'Short 33″-37″ (Adjusts one end) Long 38″-45″ (Adjusts one end) All measurements are from the inner most set of holes.' I had a Comfort Strapp for many many years and it was chuffing marvellous, highly recommended (especially at this price). GLWTS.
  8. Oh if only I had a crisp tenner for every time I’ve done that…
  9. Seconded. I always go out and bounce about with the punters during the second solo in Night Boat To Cairo, our last song. Great fun and they love it.
  10. Whereabouts are you based @basman02816?
  11. IF I GIVE HER ANY MORE CAP'N, SHE'LL BLOW!
  12. It's a homemade mute switch (hence the full name 'Shut The Fucupcakes' ) with a tuner output, and two status LEDs... an nice steady turquoise one for normal, and a bright flashing orange one for muted.
  13. Now this is the way to sell a body. Exact dimensions of the neck pocket, thus avoiding any uncertainty as to whether the neck will fit or not. Nice one. Can I appeal to anyone who sells a neck or body to do the same thing please? 30 seconds with a ruler can save all sorts of complications. GLWTS
  14. Well, I've done the usual thing that I'm sure many of us have done. Got the board sorted, happy with all the pedals and their order, sounding good and working well, no need to change anything. And then change it. The old FrankenP'd BDI21 has gone, to be replaced by the Wine Cellar. Why? I just fancied a change, is all. If I find I don't get on with it in practice, I'll have another change. The BDI was a good unit, in fact a great one in its modded state, but I was just curious to see how the Wino would stack up. I'm sure at some point this too might find itself replaced by an A7K or something, but for the moment it's fine. The only other differences are ones you can't see - switching and LED changes in the Fucupcakes and the black loop.
  15. Speaking as the owner/builder of a board that could be described as, what was it, "hard to distinguish from a pallet"? that looks fabulous. I saw one on farcebook that someone had made from some really exotic woods, and TBH this looks just as good.
  16. I'm guessing you mean this one? I have no knowledge of these basses but I'm guessing it's a DPDT toggle switch of some sort.
  17. Patrick bought my EMG pickups. Very quick and easy transaction, lightning fast payment. Great stuff.

    Chezz55 Feedback

I bought Chris' Wine Cellar. (The pedal, not the subterranean storage facility for fermented fruit beverages.) Dead easy transaction, arrived pronto in bomb-proof packaging. Who could want for anything more? Thanks Chris!
