Good and functional boost pedal. 15dB active 2-band EQ. 20dB of boost. True bypass circuit … It’s said to be a clone of the Xotic RC Booster (v1). There are a great many uses for this simple pedal. Excellent condition/ perfect working order. Velcro on underside. £25 (I’d also trade for a decent short strap). I’m happy to post first class recorded (UK only) for an extra fiver. Here’s a direct comparison between the clone and the original (worth reading the comments) …

Mid-shaping pedal from EWS. This pedal is made to give you specific control of your mids. Especially useful for passive basses, or actives with two-band EQ, or any application where enhanced mid control may be lacking or required. It can be used to reintroduce mid punch if you need help cutting through the mix, fine tune your tone to a room, or alternatively, to give a nice thick scooped slap tone at the click of a switch. There’s many uses for it. It has a boost/ cut of +\-12db, and the frequency centre can be set anywhere between 120Hz - 3kHz. It can be powered either 9v or 18v for more headroom. I personally recommend 18v, as it’s so super-clean and noise free. Do you experience a volume boost with yours also?

Reverb and Delay in one Pedal. What options are there?
Fionn replied to binky_bass's topic in Effects
The old Boss RV-3 Reverb/Delay Guitarists are known to love it, and it’s fantastic with bass also … Digital, clean, not muddy at all, holds definition, no loss of low end. Harder to find these days perhaps -
The contours/ sculpting on my ‘98 Pro M are as pronounced I’ve seen on any Streamer. Far more so than on the ‘87 Streamer I had. These photos give a good impression anyway …

I have these MEC electronics, from a Warwick Streamer Stage II, that I would like to put in another bass. Thing is, I’m not so knowledgeable with electronics, and there are a few loose wires to consider. Can anyone here advise me what the various connections are? Am I correct to assume that the two short black and red wires at the bottom are the battery connection, the longer red one is an earth connection, and that the loose brown wire has become disconnected from pot ‘D’? Also, what do the various pots control? Pot ‘C’ is (active/passive switching) volume on the upper concentric pot. The lower has a detent. Is that pickup blend then, with the other 3 being the 3-band EQ? If so, which is which (B/M/T)? Your advice would be most appreciated. Ta’

Doom all day. I can’t get enough it, really …

Hahaha. Any port in a storm! I know such sticky carpets. The Red Rocks was a bit special though, sure.

We played at the Red Rocks, in Colorado. Our show was on the 5th. Aye, there are sacrifices to be made, living it this wild remote place. It’s all worth it though. Balance is the answer for me, having adventures out in the world and coming back to this wild haven, it affords some nice contrast. Glad that the world is opening up again, for all of us.

Good to see so many folks breaking the crust and getting back into it after ages away. I also had a break of over 18 months without gigs, went straight back to a massive show/ live recording, the biggest of my life really. That was a bit of a shock to the system, after being a cave hermit in the Outer Hebrides for so long. It made me hungry though. Our next show isn’t until December. I might have eaten my hands by then.

Awesome. It’s something I look forward to also. I’ll be seeing them soon after that at Tuska in Finland. I can hardly wait 🔥

Igorrr, in the Netherlands in December, shortly after performing there ourselves. Igorrr 👌🏻 … https://youtu.be/-VmaTdnL0ek

Sure. This is the back of the thing, in all its wenge-tastic glory ...

Nigel is a good guy to deal with. All easy and no messing around 💪🏻

Haha. A scene? Well ... of sorts. There are only 20,000 folks in the entire archipelago, and with a culture unlike anywhere else in Scotland, let alone the UK, so it’s probably not the kind of ‘scene’ you’re familiar with. Trad and folk are big here, and the Gaelic singing/choir scene particularly so. There are a fair few musicians scattered around the place, some very talented, and a couple of good studios. There are a few local bands and artists who sometimes perform here and there, though usually at pubs in town (Stornoway), and some of them have achieved success on a larger scale. TBH though ... I never perform here. The band I’m in plays much further afield.

SOLD Hotone Bass Press. It can be used as either a Wah, Volume, or Expression pedal. It’s functional, versatile, and with a small footprint, so a lot of options and value for the space it demands. It’s built like a tank all the same. Standard 9v power (or battery), good strong blue LEDs, true bypass ... It sounds good. There’s zero tone-suck in volume pedal mode as it’s active. It has a level control for setting the volume floor. Wah mode is tailored to bass frequencies, good clear thick tone with no loss of low end, and with a pleasing filter sweep to it. There’s a slight volume boost in wah mode. I only used it as an expression pedal with a Pitchfork. Again, nice sweep to that. These are no longer available. I paid £80 for it when they were. Anyway, condition is as new (with Velcro attached), box, and paperwork are all present. Price includes Royal Mail (signed for) postage within the UK. Demo video here ...

Just had a smooth and easy deal with Gareth. All super-duper 🤘🏻

@Skybone The SB Special was made from 82-84, then superseded by the RSB line.

Talking of lovely pairs ... The SB900’s last partner was more suited in the aesthetic sense (another ‘81 with walnut finish), but it didn’t stick. I’m a sucker for the passive twin pickups and that control set. Ahhh, I love that set up. I appreciated the SB1000, but wow, it’s not my thing. Horses for courses, n that.

I took some better photos today. The fretless is in standard tuning with light strings, flat neck, and very low action. The black fretted one is the demon, tuned down to drop A, heavy strung and set up for a pounding. 1981 Aria SB-900 (factory fretless) 1984 Aria SB Special-II
