Very Mini Bass Bash

For some reason it wont let me upload any more pictures at the moment... hmm... they will appear soon I hope
3. Evening all... Here's some pictures of tonight's impromptu mini bass bash hosted by BassCat and attended by myself and Dood. Tea / biscuits / effects fiddling / new amp and cab playing, all jolly good. 4. lol, a mini bass bash, with a Rick-O-Sound box? pictures to appear, errr... in a few mins lol
5. I love my SVT610HLF, I dare say I would love it even more if it actually saved my life. All hail the enormous wood and tolex beasties!!!
6. we should have chunked this out at the mini bass bass earlier with that fretless sound on mah pedal! w00t!
7. This is great. I do love New Forms, a lot of people dont quite understand why I do.... since I play rock and like, well, rock mostly. I remember this performance, I learned the line on my fretless.
8. Best colour for Rics IMO... good luck, I imagine this wont be here for long...
9. Awesome awesome awesome cabs, best ive ever owned. A very happy new owner awaits this... dont forget they are on wheels and have a roll bar so not as unmanageable as one might think... (yes I am a big fan of them. lol) free bump!
10. Spoon and whisk! Lol you are a funny chap some times DJV!!!! bring this to the next mini bass-bash!
11. If that Hiscox one can fit my LP in id have a look at that - not sure it will as per warwickhunt's post but I guess its worth a try? I would probably pay about £120 for the right case, so £80 for a brand new one is a good deal.
12. Hmmm, ive now been offered one of the "newer" Les Paul cases - looks like the case is probably from the 80's. It's also got a price - £170 - which I think is way OTT... I am right to think thats ridiculous arent I? The guy bought it from the States by the look of it and is taking into account the tax & import charges.
13. Music Of The Mind by Jamiroquai is a fab one to groove along to and have a bit of an impro as well :-)
14. I absolutely adore my Ric 4001. It suits the music I play mostly (DP, Zep etc) tremendously. Wouldnt consider getting rid of it ever... although I must say after playing it for 9 years, picking up my USA Precision last year has opened my eyes to the beauty of a nice easy to play Fender as well
15. Hi Warwick - I dont think it will... the Gibbo is rather "phat". Length wise its OK, in fact perhaps too long considering the LP's short scale.
16. Cheers for the replies chaps - it turns out its a case for an EB3L or EB4L so isnt suitable anyway... back to the hunt!
17. Ive been looking for a case for my 72' Les Paul for ages now, and it seem I may have found one. Im told its a 70's one, so it should fit my bass (unlike the modern Les Paul shaped cases). What's a realistic price for a "vintage" case? its more born out of necessity than a pervy "I must have a vintage case" thing - no other case fits my bass sadly.

OK, sold to the beardy hairy man (Thats me, btw.)
19. Interesting one... Until November last year when I bought my brand new MIA Precision I had never bought a "new" guitar. This was probably down to all my heroes playing guitars that arent necessarily on the beaten track, or arent even made anymore (Jack Bruce, Cliff Burton). So I would say I like both, it was a lovely feeling to buy and own a bass that was purely mine (and always will be because its awesome) but im equally happy buying something with dings and belt rash if it plays and sounds the business. Buying from a reputable dealer also helps. I would point out that I dont dig the "reliced" look when it isnt actual real "relic wear" though... some of those Fenders look pretty convincing but compare it to something like http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;hl=precision and they just dont convince.
20. Thats a real nice Jazz they are offering... is that an OHSC with it as well?

any experiences with pedal guys / gals? Want a nice phat fuzz tone and this one apparantly does a better job of holding the low end in the tone.
23. Ive been seriously thinking about these as im an Ampeg perv but really need a pre instead... looks lovely Beeds... good luck with the sale! (I am loving the P on the far left as well, lovely colour with proper MOJO.)
24.
found this on gumtree.....£150 2x15 800watts EV loaded
Mesa? For £150?? Bloody hell I picked up a tatty old '76 Fender Musicmaster for £200. I suppose thats the only real "deal" ive had, its a lovely little thing and is on these forums somewhere as I got it refin'd.
25. This is lovely, again exactly what I was looking for for months and then ended up buying a new MIA instead because of unrealistic prices and availability. Cant believe it's still here - and what a great price Ash! PS your avatars are awesome. My cat agrees.
