1. If you are looking for someone in the East of England, Pete @ Sonic Fix is a top chap to deal with for this kind of thing - lives in Horning (hoho!) out in the sticks about 10 miles from Norwich. Has a fully kitted out workshop, nice fella. Also did a cracking setup job on my Musicmaster. www.sonicfix.co.uk
2. i think I just had some kind of sexual event in my pants after looking at that. lovely lovely Ric...
3. ...just out of interest, why would you want to sell it when you have such a lovely matching cab to dish out all that Ampeg joy?
4. Ive been in this situation before - it tends to be the bride and groom that want you there (and usually book you), and no one else could give a toss if you were there or not. Easy money but kinda soul-sapping...
5. Splendid stuff there chap, it isnt option B thankfully! Bit of taillift going on as is the case with these things but otherwise I thnk a bit of saddle fiddling should do some good. Many thanks!
6.
Cos you've not PM'd me an offer for my 79 P bass?
if I could afford what you would need/want for it mate id probably have a punt... but I am skint after the last 2 GAS attacks! Is a pretty looking thing. Is it heavy? That '75 ive been tinkling on every now and then is pretty light IMO (but I am used to Ricks and my Gibbo which weighs a ton)
7.
so many threads about it, so why does everyone seem to keep goingback?
is a very good point i think its prob cos that vintage stuff doesnt turn up very often, and people want to believe they can acquire such lovely things. Even if the paint job / neck / body / electrics / machineheads / pickguard / other random part has been changed
8. Gotta say, when ive been down there, Wunjo's and V&R were perfectly fine to me. Let me try anything etc... sounds like they are happy to pull the wool over people's eyes at a few other places down there though!
9. Evening chaps... Its taken me a long time to admit it, but the action on my Rick is a bit high, and makes it not as easy as it could be to play. How do i go about getting the action less high? Cheers - Stag
10. Can someone explain to me why I have never owned a P-Bass... not even a copy? Even though I occasionally play my singers 75' P-Bass and its lovely?
11. I do like your website Alex - very to the point, no jargon-waffle... a refreshing change!
12. Cliff Burton's stuff is so much fun becuase of the overdrive and wah, id probably have to go with that lovely part in Orion, or most parts of Anaethesia... Dune Tune is a good call as well, remember learning bits of that with my old tutor years ago. Happy days
13. someone got a truly lovely thing here. Awesome bass
14. Interesting pictures on the wall. Sorry, what should I be looking at?
15. Interesting stuff there Si - I may just consider that route if they arent too pricey...! Cheers!
16. I used the non-bass version of one of these with my old Trace Cabs a while back while my usual head was getting serviced. Quite a fun sound indeed... retro Jack Bruce sound :-) So have a free bump for this!
17. Cheers for the comments guys. Not sure if I want to be fiddling with the nut on my Rick... and certainly not a little short scale thing like my Gibson... perhaps buying a 5 is the way to go. I think I can push C# with no flapping on the 4's - will have to see how that goes
18. Hi chaps / chapettes... I'm currently thinking about forming another band with a guitarist pal of mine. He's proper into his heavy music and I personally like a bit of devil horned stuff as well, particularly as its going to be originals which I havent had to do in a very long time. He also mentioned that this will involve a certain amount fo tuning down. After a little bit of discussion we think we would be looking at C or C#, which im happy with.... but will my bass be happy with it? I dont own (and have never owned) a bass with more than 4 strings, im a bit old skool as far as that goes! Does anyone here play a 4 who regularly tunes down to that kind of level... and is it OK to do this to your instrument? And if it isnt - perhaps all you multi stringers could suggest a 5 or a 6 string which would fit the bill? The basses I normally play are listed in my sig, which should give you an idea of what is "my bag"... Cheers guys!
19. ...is this sale possibly related to that email you sent me DJV? You can come and try mine out first if you want!
