Same for me. I feel instantly at home with my '82 4001, but not so totally at home with a P or a J... mebbe cos ive been playing the same bass for 10 years...?
Would advise you play one first though a few times as they can be a bit "Marmite" as previously mentioned.
(on a second note, how odd that I own both kinds of bass being discussed in the same thread? dont think thats ever happened before!)
