1. DOOM That is all. awesome cab.
2. ummmmm..... Cliff Burton?
3. Ive promised myself one of these for a while but unfortunately my entire bathroom leaking means other things are going to be taking my money away from me. good price IMO... sob.
4. I got an SKB case for my SVT 5 (A hot amp) and didnt realise the fan out vents were at the side (Yes I know, I am an idiot). Needless to say said amp got very very hot indeed and now needs a service. It did survive a whole gig though, amazingly. Toying with the idea of cutting some big holes in the side or getting a more lightweight rack with better ventilation - im not sure I have the expertise or inclination to go creating a fan system for a case...! (unless you want ot come and do it for me Dan hahahahaha)
5. Im seated watching at the O2! Did you watch him do DSoTM? I watched it 3 years running in three different venues... lol
6. Thank you, what a legend!
7. All done and yes nothing happened, there are a multitude of other examples of this previously happening on the net and the banks / police being able to do positively nothing about it. Im not comfortable using it anymore unless its someone I actually know. What has changed recently to make it safer? Im just asking out of interest you see.
8. I paid someone on eBay via Bank Transfer a couple of years back and my bank could do nothing about it after I realised id been scammed - whats changed?
9. please tell me someone from here bought this! ultra mega awesome deal
10. Good to hear... I love me a bit of the short scale action. Never tried a Mustang tho, are they essentially very much the same as my trusty Musicmaster?
I have:
Great screenname Cool Car Two Ricks. You sir are a super person.
12. I own one of these and they are amazing. I paid a little bit more for mine but it came with the rather sought after APF-4 footswitch for all the channel tomfoolery that I like... mine didnt come with a Gator either, so I would say DEAL DEAL DEAL! As long as it works... doubt that will hang aroung long
13. ludicrously cheap! and these are great amps!
14. I was on this thread months ago and then forgot about it... how very rude of me. I also forgot to add a pic of my own... doh.... so here it is PS Burrito, that is a lovely collection, all different!
15. I bought mine new last year for £850 so this is a MEGA MEGA DEAL. Someone will certainly rehome this at such a great price... the case alone is worth nearly £100 as is the going rate for SKB cases! (I love my case too)
you can't beat the sound of a Ric with new strings.
FACT.
17.
That Musicmaster looks great, is the Bronco the Squier version of that ?
I think Fender originally made the Bronco as a guitar in the 60's... the Bronco bass is pretty much the closest you'll get to it (other than an old Mustang bass, and they tend to be considerbaly pricey-er than Musicmasters.
18. You can have a look at my Musicmaster here : http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14065 I also have a short scale Gibson LP, that's very very nice indeed but weighs as much as a tank.
19. If you can get hold of an old Musicmaster that would probably be perfect! Small, easy to play basses. The Epi EB0's ive played are quite heavy IMO, considerably heavier than EB3's.
20. i would SO have bought this. lovely
21. dont understand the attitude here that he's "not allowed" to own the bass... he bought it. Well done him IMO. rather a fan have it than it be stuck in a dealers. And Jaco is actually one of his heroes... and he's a pretty funky player... and he's friends with the family...?
22. Update to my rig : DOOM DOOM DOOM 1350w mono bridge DOOM DOOM DOOM
23. munk : a rather cheese-tastic picture can be seen at http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=attach...st&id=42555 of both weapons :-) (i must remove that picture soon)
24.
As with most basses, you need to try a few yourself to find out how you interact with them. For instance I get on great with most Rics and don't get on very well with most Fenders; many find the opposite is the case. Bear in mind individual instruments differ too; I've played some Rics I really haven't liked at all, but my favourite of all the basses I've ever played is my '72 4001.
Same for me. I feel instantly at home with my '82 4001, but not so totally at home with a P or a J... mebbe cos ive been playing the same bass for 10 years...? Would advise you play one first though a few times as they can be a bit "Marmite" as previously mentioned. (on a second note, how odd that I own both kinds of bass being discussed in the same thread? dont think thats ever happened before!)
25. Its a decent tune IMO, admittedly not the groovy stuff i got into the band with but its a million miles better than most of the sh*t that pervades the charts these days. I also have met Mr Turner, and Derrick, and Rob at a clinic / Q&A they did in Great Yarmouth (yes really lol) and they were top top guys and I wish them every success. They can certainly play...
