1. It still surprises me how I get to stay out of all those pics every year. But cool pics
2. Bought this last Thursday. Surprising versatility!
3. You mean the Rikkers Treeline? Ferdinand had it with him last year as well, I remember it being light and having a very versatile sound. Really cool bass.
4. Ooohhh yes, that Remington Steele is an amazing instrument...
5.
Whew! Finally got back to Bristol last night at 22:30 after another very long day at the London Bass Guitar Show. It was great to see some bass chatters (both the lanyard wearing ones, and those that were incognito). It was amazing the positive feedback we received from pretty much everybody. Even those that thought it wasn't "their thing" still had nice things to say. For those that came and tried one of our basses - Thanks. Hope you enjoyed the show. Biggest thanks however goes to Basschatter "Romeo2" who volunteered to help me and covered the stand when I couldn't. Thanks a million dude!
I was actually really surprised by the quality of your basses! Great "ploink" sound, just as I like it in a hollowbody bass.
6. I was there yesterday and had a great day! I hung out at the Eich stand mostly and was amazed by the new amps ánd the fantastic basses Gerald Marleaux makes. I fell in love with this baby... I spoke to a few Basschatters I think, but sorry for not remembering everybody Biggest surprises for me basswise were Stonefield (weird looks but sound great!), Oliver Lang, Overwater and Ellio Martina. Especially Ellio's basses really put a huge smile on my face... If anyone has any video or photo material, I'm most curious!
7. I'm already in London, so if anyone wants a beer tomorrow night or knows a good place to have one, please let me know
8.
Been honing my slap technique in preparation for the weekend....
I tried to avoid slapping last year. I think I succeeded.

Jazz

That is a pretty darn cool colour if you ask me.
10. I just saw the list of exhibitors. Found out Roger Sadowsky isn't coming (too bad, he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met), but LeFay will be there! Cool, last time I played a Remington Steele was quite a while ago and I remember them being absolutely amazing instruments. I'm gonna miss Mike Pedulla though, he brought a Pentabuzz last year that was stunning. Gonna be an interesting show anyways, some great exhibitors: Eich, LeFay, Ellio Martina, De Gier, Vanderkley, Rikkers (Dutchies yay!). AC... And quite some luthiers I've never heard of so that's gonna be interesting.
11.
I'm there on Saturday guys. Scottish guy with a beard and probably an Ashdown beanie.
I will try to find you. I'm there on Saturday as well, probably hanging out at the Eich stand a lot. I love talking to Scots. I love the accent. Hope you're a nice guy
12. Played this this afternoon. What a bass. Might come instead of a hollowbody.

Those are absolutely stunning. Sunburst will never be my fav colour but crikey, are those things pretty.
14.
Beautiful fretless basses here Here mine : 1972 Fender jazz bass with a serious Mojo. Hardly played all these 40 last years
Lovely! But, erm... lollipops? How?
15. Good tip! I might do that someday. I mostly use it at home ATM. My bass does have fret markers on the side, but only the "dotted" frets. And what EKO must have thought "well, everybody puts dots at 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12, let's do that differently. Let's put dots on 3, 5, 7, 10 and 12. That'll confuse people. Hah!". So yeah. That.
16. I think if you start walking tomorrow, you might just make it in time.
17. I'll be there for sure! I've booked my flight. Will be there on Saturday only, my girlfriend is coming along but has plans on Sunday. I'll probably hang out at the TecAmp stand mostly
18.
I,m hopeful it wasnt Wunjo's in Denmark St. They are highly praised on here for their friendly staff and top notch customer service.
I was there when I was in London for the Bass Show last March, and I can confirm this. Great guys that know their stuff. If you're ever in The Netherlands, be sure to visit Dirk Witte. I bought a guitar from them recently and the staff is great, they have good gear (for bass, acoustic and electric guitar) and are very willing to order something for you even if you're not planning to buy anything. I told the guitar guy what I was looking for, and as I was testing two guitars he brought me three more "because I thought you'll like 'em". My fav store so far.
19. Olympic White is not on the list, and that's mainly because I already have 2 basses in that colour and there are a CAR and Sonic Blue Jazzmaster on the way for me
20. In addition to my Epiphone Dot (which is a fantastic guitar for the money) I've ordered a Squier Jazzmaster, mainly for my reggae band but also just for fun Well, actually I've ordered two. I couldn't decide on the colour, so in a few days a Candy Apple Red and a Sonic Blue guitar will be ready for me at the local guitar shop and I can choose I like 'em both equally, but which one do you prefer?
21. So I did these gigs with an evening of music by Madness & The Specials. I've loved this music for a few years now but it wasn't until these gigs that I've started to love the bass parts. Genius playing by Mark Bedford (Madness) and Horace Panter (The Specials)... So I decided to put a cover together of some of my fav bass parts. I wonder what yours are Bass used is my 1972 Fender Precision. http://www.youtube....h?v=D72RIHwcIdI
22.
I really like that Blade.
Thanks! So do I. I've had this bass for over 10 years now. I don't use it much, but every time I do I rediscover its awesomeness. One of the best necks I know. I have installed new pickups (Nordstrand) and a new preamp (Aguilar OBP-1) though, which makes the sound a lot better
23. Did a little shoot on the couch. 24. I currently own a Radial Bassbone (first generation) which is a really good preamp. The DI sounds good, the EQ is fine and the channel switch is a really useful feature. But there are só many options I don't use in the pedal, I'm looking for something different. But which pedal to choose? Aguilar Tonehammer? EBS MicroBass (which has many many knobs as well)? MXR? I don't know... The features I need: -A boost function -A simple EQ -Maybe a subtle overdrive but that's not a must-have for me. Any opinions?
