  1. RIP.
  2. Have you thought about using flats or some foam to mute the strings? An octave pedal would provide a nice sub effect?
  3. Evening all. I’m looking to change the control loom for a squire jaguar vintage modified. It’s the jag with the stacked pots. Each pot has volume and tone. The bottom control of the stack has a dial ( click when turning). However I don’t really need to keep that feature. Where should I be shopping for this? The parts thread has not been updated since the new site migration took place. Cheers
  4. Another endorsement for RCF. We bought the Art 745. Does away with a sub. Great projection. Easy to transport. What motto love.
  5. I really admire all those wonderful players who are consistently push technique and strive for excellence. In my younger days they were inspiring and I spent hours diligently trying to emulate them. However as @Bilbo has stated. I have never used the techniques in my weekend warrior playing career. I imagine if I were endorsed and had to promote a product or did clinics I’d defo have some slick runs and fancy techniques to impress my audience and paymasters. I feel there’s a place for us all in the choir. These players spark interest and inspire the next generation and no doubt those young players will go on the same journey as many of us and if they are lucky end up content playing the music they really enjoy
  6. How’s Dracula supposed to travel ?
  7. I honestly think 'Spirit of Eden' is one of the best produced albums ever. The band were falling apart due to addiction etc and I think you can hear it in this album. An incredible piece of music
  8. I was born in the same town as Rory, Ballyshannon on the border of southern and Northern Ireland. I for some reason feel this has rubbed off on my playing (it really hasn't ) The local hospital is called the 'Rock Hospital ' clearly because of me and not Rory. what a Player !! FYI there a festival held there every year. https://www.rorygallagherfestival.com
  9. It’s an incredible book, a journey of recovery. I can’t imagine how you get over your loss
  10. So sad. Horrible disease. RIP. Thoughts with his family
  11. I have true contender. The Beehive Pub near West Bromwich. It’s basically a time machine. An old stove burner, which had old table legs and heaps of pallet timber ready to burn. A back room that hasn’t been used since 1984. Several rusting cars out side. To cap it off, everyone in the place was smoking. Including the kids. There was also a women dressed as pikachu. cant wait to go back.
  12. I’ve P’md you Piers
  13. Completely agree. He’s a wonderful song writer. I’d also throw Nik Kershaw into that bracket of continuing to write excellent songs
  14. Ive learn't this for a party were playing soon. It's a great bass line. Does anyone know who the bass player is? It's not Richard Madeley surely?
  15. “I could hear her howling” Maybe you need to incorporate this howl into your music ?
  16. Evening Chatters As a avid reader of the forum. I love to read about others experiences of basses and how they connect with them. I think basically there’s some trigger or root experience that defines our tastes and how we judge our bass of choice So it made me thing about the best combination of basses I’ve ever owned. Unfortunately due to youthful ignorance I’ve moved them on so in 1990 I owned 1. Warwick Thumb 2. Wal Fretless 3. Kubicki Factor Incredible combination and in all honesty I couldn’t afford to purchase them now , however I have the memories.
  17. Slightly ahead of myself but? We're thinking of rubbing some funk on "The final Countdown' by Europe. No Brexit pun intended! Any suggestions for that last one before before Big Ben Strikes ?
