  1. Really sad to read about the death of this amazing artist. He’s compositions are truly beautiful.
  2. When I first looked at this I thought it said Gaviscon! 😳 This May help. My favourite way of finding anything. I typed ‘Galveston leadsheet’ into Google. Loads of images come up. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Galveston+lead+sheet&client=safari&hl=en-gb&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjFxduo0JrZAhVTa8AKHVD7BUgQ_AUIESgB&biw=768&bih=922&dpr=2 I wonder if the manufacturers of Gaviscon have ever thought of using it for an add?
  3. Hello and welcome. Id say if your happy with the feel Of the bass, just pop in a new set of pickups. Sounds easy! This is where the fun starts. I’ve used Delano, Aguilar, Bartolini, Fender custom, and Lindy Fralin. I like them all. It takes a bit of research. The other option is to fit a new preamp. The John East preamps are excellent. Enjoy the search!

  5. I have mine through my equipment insurance company. If you go down that route, there is a voucher in the shop section on the site offering 20% off voucher.
  6. What a variety of tastes and rigs. Mine: 74 Jazz, Zon Fretless NS Eub vanderkley cab mesa 800+ head Tbone preamp if using combination of basses simple light and effective IMO
  7. I personally think it’s really simple. Regardless of an individuals ability as a muso or professional standing. People like GG of which there are many. Indeed we’re almost seeing daily revelations of high profile individuals being exposed as inadequate . Along with them there are people in powerful positions in many walks of life who abuse their power. In the case of GG he used his power to meet his own deprived needs, disregarding the Life long impact on his victims. He’s ruined the lives of many people. I personally don’t get why people appear to accept or minimise the behaviour of famous people as less serious than any other inadequate individual who seeks out and exploits vulnerable people.
  8. No down side as long as your all happy. I wish I could find someone decent to take the ball ache out off getting gigs. It sounds Win Win. Well as long as the venues are decent

  10. I was listening to 6 music earlier. This came on and it struck me that some bass lines are meant for synth bass. I don’t think even with a synth pedal you could accurately produce the feel of this
  11. I had an awful experience recently. I sold a bass on the bay as a collection in person. The buyer interpreted this as sending a courier. I explained it was a collection in person as i didn't have the time to arrange to package and sit in waiting for a courier. Collection in person means i simply hand you the bass. Regardless i agreed as i am a good-natured soul. What a mistake. The list of demands was like a rider from Spinal Tap. The cheeky sod clearly had issues and i was given instruction how to wrap the headstock using bubble wrap, slacken the strings by .68 turns etc. It was a joke. The worst bit was the lack of thanks. Dont get me wrong it was a sh*t bass, I was glad to see it go. So i suppose my point is "Collection in person" can be open to interpretation by complete idiots.
  12. I sold a Limelight to Pete. A pleasure to deal with. Hassle free transaction. Met up quick chat. Top man
  13. Thank you for explaining my "left-hand wobble" in the correct terms. . That's why you're the teacher. Sustain is essential for feel and emotional attachment to particular styles of music.
  14. Great question. I think it’s just another tool for us to use depending on the music your producing. I find it really useful in a lot of the Fretless stuff I play. It lends itself to using sustain as the very nature of Fretless is the ambiguity of the note. The “left hand wobble” it has its place
  15. That’s passion. When your footy team comes before your bass choice. 😀
  16. Bought a lovely Fender Jazz from Paulie. Hassle free. Top member. Thanks again
  17. Thanks, advice was taken. My poor attempt at lightning the mood.
  18. You completely right Steve and @Prowla. It really makes me look stupid and I'm sure to many of you its hard to believe. I've heard of Limelight for sure, however, i have genuinely never looked into what they do. I really thought that they were like AMG for Mercs etc. The original advert that I bought it from was not misleading in any way. It stated "Limelight Fender etc" I am an impulsive buyer and not the most technically minded When I saw it I just bought it. It really was that simple. I hope I haven't damaged my reputation too much, anyone who wants to check my feedback will see how long I've been trading and been a member. If anything I think this is an example of how supportive the community is in pointing out to stupid " Schoolboys" like me the error of their ways. If there are any Mods/Admin following if you feel I should remove the ad, I'm more than happy too. Or just bin it yourselves. The bigger argument is clearly one for the forum mods and admin to discuss. However, with the level of scrutiny provided by members as in this case, I doubt this is a site many fakers would attempt to infiltrate.
