I've loved mine since I picked it up from Molan. Heavier than the Fenders I've tried, but killing them in terms of construction, playability and tone. Good to see them back, and hoping I'll get the chance to add more Laklands to the collection
I did see Graham Coxon in York once, playing at Fibbers. He was off his head, and played most of the show sitting/lying down... to the annoyance of everyone not in the front row, such was the state of old Fibbers!
Quite an intimate crowd that night. And all f***ed off with him. He didn't stick around long.
It's all free bumps, Scooby. Though the rules do prohibit haggling over the price, it's fair to ask questions, I would say.
Ghost has edited the ad, to his credit, if there was any question. It remains a very good looking bass.
Can someone start a new thread for those who have played on stage in jeans, a t-shirt, and playing a sunburst bass?
We'll put Nige in the tags so he blunders into it. Won't know what hit him!
Afternoon all. Cutting to the story, I've been offered one of these basses in a trade. They look the business, and I love my DJ4 so would be hoping for more of the same from another Lakland.
However, I've never seen one in the flesh. Would be interested in thoughts around the neck and general suitability as a rock bass.
Youtube is full of videos, but - if I'm interested - I'll need to have a try.

Make the drummer use hot rods for rehearsals. It'll decrease the volume of the drums whilst allowing for a realistic bounce, unlike brushes.

The Spectors are lovely - the necks tend to have a shallow profile and be very quick, given the Satin finish. The fretboard is quite wide, however, so perhaps not for those struggling for reach.

Either they'll ask you to play roots on everything or they'll give you carte blanche. That's how rock bands go IME.

Yup, this sounds familiar. You then spend all rehearsal wondering what little fills you can add to give yourself something to do; and then falling foul of the fact that the drummer doesn't like slides.
Fretboard slides, obviously. He would be better suited to playground slides, though, I must admit.
