1. You're coming to North Yorkshire? That could certainly help. Just checking compatability with the cabs, to make sure I've got my numbers right.
2. Bump. Trade is still the prefered option, but happy to negotiate on price.
3.
or perhaps you are better than you think..........
Crikey, that's dangerous territory! I always start from the bottom... then I can be pleasantly surprised at how good I am. I mean, if I knew I was f***ing brilliant and beyond human mistakes, I'd be the singer, right?
4.
I dunno, but great pic!
+1
5.
if it gave the guy pleasure, then as it's his he can do as he likes with it.
Spot on brother.
6. We've been finding that rehearsals have been going a lot smoother since we took the Vagina Monologues approach and liberated certain words. Our diva guitarist is now much improved I am unsure if this technique would work for you, musically, but it might give a much needed morale boost
7. Oh dear. Who is this chap?
8. Welcome in, lah
9.
Well, I went along last night..... it was fairly terrible! Their songs were boring and all used the same 4 chords, they had no style as such, and I learnt 4 of their songs in about 20 minutes, hardly challenging! To cap it all, the drummer started telling me how to play, after running through the first song once! I resisted the temptation to lamp the tw*t and made my mind up that there was no way I would be joining. The search goes on!
Wow, I didn't know my band were auditioning replacements Oh well, plenty more fish for you mate. It's all experience, etc.
10. Lessons from dood?! You'll be playing technical progressive death melody metal on a headless 7-string before you know it Joshing aside dood is, well, a total dude. That's a brilliant offer
11. It's a bugger this is elsewhere in Europe, as it's the kind of trade deal where I'd like to have a go first. I'm sure it will move, it looks a very nice piece of kit.
12.
the workmanship speaks for itself, but why?
The challenge? The joy of creation? The joy of the art? I thought it looked well enough from the small picture. I mean, this forum has seen some real tat... and I'm not sure I'd put this in that camp. It's more an eccentricity.
13. Fives can be fantastic, but with some caveats, as you make the move from four. I think you really need to find one that is comfortable for you - ensuring you're happy with the neck and string spacing. They do require some more precision, particular when trying to hammer the E. I picked one where the string spacing felt good in trying... but was a dog when playing for a duration.
14. Whereabouts in Suffolk, Pike?
15. I guess it's one of those things. If you approached a bass, without knowing how you were supposed to hold it, I imagine his cradling would be reasonably intuitive. It reminds me of the an old rifle sling. There are quite a few videos on Youtube where he explains how his style developed, well worth a look.
16.
Shocked at the lack of interest so far, type bump
Market is gash at the moment, chief. That and we're all wanting to trade for Jazz basses
17. What-no-trades-bump?
18. Another very nice Jazz, cd.
19. You need for a futon, the best combination of sofa and back-supporting bed... so you can continue to wake up next to your basses. Well, most of them. I'll trade my futon for the blacktop Some very nice basses, chief.
20. My bathroom scales have been corrected, weight is c.8.3lbs. On the bright side, I think I can knock the diet off
21. Sex on legs. Lovely bass.
22. I thought it was great; but... ... but you wouldn't put it on the car stereo. ... but it's a little self indulgent. ... but no frigger will ever buy it. I spied an interview with James Patterson in Metro the other week. He doesn't call his books 'novels', he calls them 'entertainments' - and he notes the huge gulf between them and the real literary greats; but he also notes their indulgences and limited appeal, and perhaps that's what it takes to have that greatness and really push the boundaries of what you can achieve in your field of the arts. I think the comparison works here. He's pushing it; he's to be respected for it; but outside of this thread, of people who also play, he'll get no recognition for it. Which is alternately a shame and to be expected. Just my late night musings. I was certainly glad to have seen the clips
