1. No worries lah, sounds like a shocker!
2. Of course chief. I'll put some pics up tomorrow (I know I keep promising - so, if I don't get distracted...) and you're more than welcome to have a go. The idea was to build something big and solid, very Gibson-like; yet fit the Jazz format. It's got a very cool neck as a result.
3. [sup]Jon, you should also try bcrichplayers.com.[/sup] [sup]They know the bass back-to-front there, as they saw it when Shockwave first imported it and the damage to the neck occured.[/sup] [sup]They are massive fans, though, and it's likely to get some additional love.[/sup]
4. Utterly lovely.
5. I think I might try Lysdexia's approach to round up some more interest

I want this, Someone make an offer on my Spector
7. A lovely looker, chief
8.
What did happen in the end?
3 months for good behaviour for Foxed, but the driver had a prior
9. Very nice mate, very nice. How robust are the hollow bodies?
10. I did snigger a little this morning when I set about typing 'three finger technique' into search box. Mind of a boy, and all that.
11. Was Iron Maiden two-fingers? I'd always thought it was three - mindst you, it's horses for courses. Youo've got to play the stuff, so you've got to play it with a technique which is both achievable and sounds right.
12. Great minds chief, great minds. Though I think I prefer the Charvel over the BC Rich ST... The older ST was more Precision like. I wish I could find a Gunslinger, reverse-pointy PJ!
13. Total dude. My practice earlier was total sh*t compared to this.
14. I need to put some proper pictures up, but I did get mine finished!
15. In a side note... I do love blocks. But that's purely from an aesthetic point of view.
16. The Jazz built on my Shuker course doesn't have them... it's a visual/legacy thing, you expect them so you miss them. But they're not needed. My old MTD didn't have them, and it gave me the idea for this build. Side dots only, and when you know the fretboard you don't need them either!
17. Dave, you should add in something about what kinds of trades you're looking. Will help people get involved. Very nice looking bass, always admired these.
18. Red Fang... over and over again. Great rock.
19. You have gloves?!?!? I stood on a mousetrap digging some drum stands out of the rehearsal room's storage - that was nice, and unique surely. Normally it's the singer's flailing arms which cause issues. Everything else is self-inflicted. A quick game of roshambo inflicted some mid-rehearsal casualties last week.
20.
People don't like Courier collections. One of the reasons is because it is up to the seller to make sure you get the goods in one piece. If your courier breaks it or loses it the seller is liable and can have the money removed from his account and refunded to you.
That and it's the standard scam format these days, as witness the scammer thread. I'm away, but I'll send my guys for it... and can I please pay via Paypal?
21. Take them all boozing beforehand... worked for me The Precision will cover all eventualities, to be honest. In terms of preparing, it's a real shame they can't share anything - though, if it's early days, they might not have anything to share. You can still practice, mind - pick out a smattering of rock tracks and just jam out some bass lines over the top. It sounds as if that's probably what you'll be doing in the 'audition', working through any tracks they have; or, if they want a cover, you've got some in your pocket you know.
22. Glad no money moved. Yes, it's a bind, but chalk it up as experience... and break his ankles another day.
23. BC Rich did much the same over the period - the neck plates were marked "LA California" despite being imports, so you get the odd EBay expert insisting they have a US-built bass from Nagoya, Japan (New Jersey, right?)...
24.
There's a blue and maple one of these with SDs in a local music shop for £600!
I'm assuming that's the one which has loitered on Ebay for well-over a year now? Am unsure of the differences in the line - are they claiming there's is a US model? The ones being discussed in this thread will all be imports... but bloody good ones.
