1.
Jedward didn't win.
Thank f***.
2. Eeee by gum. I like!
3. Lovely again, Gareth
4. I think a bridge swap would make quite something of this! Are Alden the Chinese-Alan Entwhistle lot?
5. Oops, forgot to add something - Bob Rock: the worst of the Metallica bassists, no?
6. I'd pay £27 to see Marcus Miller slap someone. I don't know what their issue is
7. I didn't really rate Jason when I was younger, mainly as you couldn't really hear him... now I know it was a deliberate decision by the other members of Metallica, I'm left wondering. You can't watch Some Kind Of Monster and not think the rest of the band are pure dickheads, Hetfield leading the curve on that one, and that Jason had a point in getting out. The Justice For Jason stuff on Youtube is very good, and he works well with the songs. Cliff I like, but am not wondering if it's just some sentimentality in there. Rob is good, just not my cup of tea. We're all on here banging on about posture and he looks like he's squatting for a sh*t every time he gets on stage... just adds some comic appeal. He's probably the best of the three players, mind
8. What a great price! Love the Surveyors, lot of bass for the money - need to buy one rather than borrow, for my next challenge.
9. Absolutely love it, Cocco. A really emotional song, I felt. Lots of bombast, but without over doing it. I've put it on my Facebook, hope you don't mind Would love to have a natter about how you find the Grabber too!
10. Available separately, yeah?
11. I'm still confused as to which of these are shortscale - assuming you have options within the Gibson stable? The EB3 Epi is a long scale, which is more appropriate for my longer arms.
12. A-lending-a-hand-kinda-bump for TM
13. That was me being a divvy, Toby
14. Damn J, that's some lovely gear!
15. I think they're an aid to beard growth, or something.
16. It's still here as we're skint. I'm hoping Tom will keep it and keep playing, all told
17. The sizes seem quite generous. Would have said XL... but looking at the chests, I think I could pull of a Large. If anyone grabs a black shirt in L or XL can you let me know, please? Thanks!
18.
I think people tend to take the piss out of people who claim they have a bad back, but I reckon there's nothing worse, especially in a bass playing situation.
Back pain is, officially, the worst - and, if you give yourself a real injury it's persistent. Of course, wisdom only comes with experience; by which time you're really in the sh*t
19.
Theres 5 pics and a demo video on the gumtree link. Just a click away.
There are now. Cupboard was bare, earlier! Much better I have a lad at work this might suit. Will aim him here.
20. Pics would help, I think. Am sure this will go, no worries
21.
I for one have bought many things on a whim before simply because I played with them and liked them. Just because you walk into a shop with no intention to buy does not mean you cant A afford to or B decide to. If it means the assistant asks you to empty your pockets and remove your belt before playing then eyes you like a hawk while you do I understand if the bass is valuable. Why dont shops ask people to put on a dressing gown when they want to play something highly expensive for instance, yes you look silly but the isntrument is then supported on a soft fabric in all contact points. I for one as a customer would completely respect this and being made to look a bit foolish may well put off a lot of window shoppers as well. Theres ways around the possible damage argument. A flat buy it or get out attitude wins no sympathy from me.
I buy things on a whim too; and I think a whim would be covered by my point... but there are plenty who just try, and nothing else. I'm sure the shops see a lot of these people, and it's probably understandable they get a little pissy. I don't necessarily think walking through the shop door gives anyone licence to just try whatever. I'm playing devil's advocate, a little. Normally I just grump about the shop I think the belt idea is a great one.
22. I was mulling this over - but do we not need to be a little bit honest with ourselves when we approach these shops? I mean, it's alright saying "well, I could have bought it - and everything else on the wall with it"; good for you. And it's right that you should try before you buy. But, on the day, were you actually buying? And I don't mean the in the process of handing over the cash; but the whole decision-making process that goes with it. I've slated shops for poor service before - and we should slate poor service. It's unacceptable. But we should also be honest about what we're about - otherwise we're in the same camp as so many others, who head in, expect to try gear, and have no intention of putting any business their way.
23. I think it might just be the shot - when I originally looked at this from steve, it was a beautiful Sage Green. Get a black pickguard on it and you'd be away!
24. I had one of these, which I think is now in the hands of BC'er Deaver - very nice bass, lovely big neck, and felt solid enough to take on an episode of Gladiators. Pity you have to part ways
