1. Marinus bought my Crowella Animated pedal. Always a pleasure to deal with, and highly recommended. Thanks Marinus!
2. Bought Eddie's Mantic Vitriol. Pleasant communication, and very speedy postage. Pedal is as described, and awesome! Thanks mate :-)
3. Blender sold, Animated price drop!
4. Crowella Animated SOLD For those who aren't aware, this is a spot-on clone of the much coveted Human Gear Animato distortion pedal, most often associated with Chris Wolstenholme of the Muse. Great demo/comparison here from the maker https://www.youtube....h?v=Fpd96Ox8kzo This cost a lot to get over from Australia...It's mint, and comes with the box. Has velcro underneath. I think I've only pressed the footswitch a couple of times because it's been going through the blender! Looking for [s]£95 inc. postage[/s] SOLD Wounded Paw Blender V3 SOLD Latest version. 3-loop parallel blender which is great for retaining a clean bass alongside the effect(s). More details here http://www.woundedpa...&products_id=12 No box, but practically mint. Has velcro underneath. These are going for £165 on Joe's Pedals, and I think that's the only place in the UK that has them... I'm looking for [s]£85 inc. postage[/s] SOLD
5.
Luckily it is. Although in fact there is a bit of a difference between the positioning of the strings on neck and the bridge pup. Don't know if this is a real issue or not, as it's the first jazz I own and I read a lot of different opinions about this.
This has been the case with every threaded saddle BBOT bridge Jazz Bass that I've seen or own(ed). Not at all unusual, and makes absolutely no sonic difference, but it might nag at one's OCD a bit! ;-)
6.
So... Easiest way to adjust the truss rod please?... (Just access, I'm used to adjusting from either the head or with plenty of heel access)
Just get a Cruztools Cheater Driver - http://www.cruztools.com/cheaterdriver.html I got one to do minor adjustments on my 62 AVRI Jazz (same truss access as the Flea), but I haven't needed to take the neck off since!
7. Possible stupid question, and sounds kind of counter-intuitive, but have you tried them the other way round (i.e. Sansamp into B3K)? I know that when I had a B3K, and now with my RAT-based distortion, they worked/work better with a preamp driving them. With the preamp after, it always put a bandwidth on them which basically made them sound less good!...
8. Lovely bass! Glad they've added the separate battery compartment too, is that a new thing? On my old Euro 4 you had to take the back plate off to get to the battery, which was a pain in the a**e!

Boss TU-3S

How do you switch it on/off, or is it just on all the time!? I think that'd annoy me.
10.
The pedal that dissappointed me the most recently was the Darkglass VMT. With my set, up it sucked. Shame really as with all the hype and love going around about it I thought it'd be amazing. I moved it on pretty quickly.
Definitely the Darkglass B3/7K and VMT. Don't think I've seen opinion divided quite as much for any other pedal-maker recently. Seems to be either die-hard fans or total haters, and nothing inbetween...I, for one, am firmly in the latter camp! ;-)
11. AVRI 62 Jazz - 9.5lbs 79 Stingray - 11.2lbs 75 Jazz - 12.6lbs Play the 75 Jazz the most
12.
Why's that Kev? You wouldn't buy it, OK fine, each to their own.. Here's why I bought it - Not that I have to justify spending my own money on whatever I want to anyone, but when they brought these out, my first thought was if they had done it with black blocks and binding, I'd be moving heaven and earth to get one. That's why this one sparked my interest. I did my research, got written confirmation from Fender that it's all genuine parts, with the only difference between a 'to spec' one and this one being the different blocks and binding. So I get what I wanted in the first place, straight from the factory. I'm happy. It didn't cost you anything. No need to rain on my parade.
Well said.
13. Looks like a proper mid-70s Jazz Bass to me, going by the colour scheme and bullet truss rod. Not a reissue.
14. Are the dark wood embellishments removable?
15. My 62 AVRI Jazz has a couple of similar chips, and that's nitro. Also, the V prefix on the neck plate serial number checks out. Guess that could be a replacement, but quite unlikely!
16.
Folks, the guy who bought this bass in January received two bits of good news the same week, the first was his first Wal, the second his first child! So, aware of imminent financial constraints, he offered it back and I, missing it, bought it back
Turns out the worries about financial constraints were quite well founded!... If it weren't the case though, I'd have this back in a heartbeat! Incredible bass, beautiful sound and feel, really one of the best basses I've played. I want it back, but I can't afford it Are you sure you want to let this go again Chris!?...
17.
Yep, my 77-ish P (like Discreet's, a blondie) is on the heavy side but it's lovely, plays and sounds great.
My 75 Jazz weighs a ton too, but it's the best sounding, growliest Jazz I've ever played! Apart from a slightly too big bridge pickup route it's really well made too, and the neck hasn't moved since I bought it last year! P.s. Just to make matters worse, I've played that blue 73 in the Gallery a couple of times and it's lovely ;-)
18. Wow Never usually into the look of Flea Basses, but this one's stunning!
19. Incredible example, it looks totally mint! Sorely tempted...Sorry to be the one to ask, but what's the weight?
20.
I'm probably being a bit dense... but what are those great big screws on the front of the bass between the bridge and pickup?
They're where the mutes would have been attached originally, and someone has put those screws in to cover up the holes.
21.
Questions for the collective. Should I move the Blueberry in front of the COG? It'll be on most of the time in this setup...
Not the same as the Blueberry, but similar in an amp - style overdrive kind of way...I used to use my SFT, and now use my COG Knightfall before the TK-421-X, and it drives it really nicely. I now keep the Knightfall on all the time, and kick on the TK when I need a gnarly, grindy boost!
