1. Basically we finally found out what bass IS good for metal, so there's little to talk about...
2. I don't have a means to weigh it, it's not super lightweight but not a bloater either! Balances well.
3. You're not wrong! I thought I attached...two secs, something has gone awry
4. Hi all, Sadly a mahoosive tax bill means I need to raise some cash, so this has to go. It's a J&D Jazz but it's been upgraded with a Schaller 3D bridge and a better wiring loom (large pots and solderless) It comes in a beaten but functional hard case at £125 collected (Ledbury in Herefordshire) or I can post for £20 Cheers, James
5. GB stuff is the absolute nuts. I LOVE my Contour.
6. Had one and loved it but it blew up so when the new replacement arrived, I'd moved on.
7. If I get a few hours to myself I am going to attack my jazz copy and De-fret it. This post makes me think I'll enjoy the results if I don't make a hash of it!
8. I operate the 'if I make money, it goes towards family stuff' rule. Sadly not had a paying gig in nearly two years now!
9. It may be my phone but your ad is written in an almost impossible to read font! Just a heads up in case it's intentional but I can't read it easily, thought you should know.
10. I've got my stuff from Car Audio Direct in the past - been great but the site is sometimes a little difficult to navigate
11. Hi all, It arrived today, I've given it a setup and it's a great bass but the neck is just too big - I took a punt and it's not for me. Lovely feel to it but I can tell it's going to trigger my hand cramps. So £120 posted in the UK in the interests of passing on a bargain seems right! Cheers! James
12.
Which are also great basses at a silly price! You just can't go wrong with some of these...
I have NO need for it but there you go... I need to clear out really but I have a serious J Bass addiction going on.
13. I love a good relic. Trouble is there are so many bad ones!
14. It was SO gonna buy one of these. But bottled it at the last minute and bought a J&D Jazz instead to make myself feel better
15. It's reasonable pop music. Job done, it made them rich?
16. Where did you buy from spongey? I'm close to doing the same...
17. Hi all, Another forum I'm on have this thread running and it's full of useful stuff so I figured I'd pilfer it for here. What are your tips for better tone without spending a penny? Mine is to raise the action a little - I've recently done this on all my basses and whilst I don't like how it looks, my fingers have adjusted and it sounds better to my ear. So what are your top tips for tonal improvements without getting the credit card out? Cheers, James
18. I always loosen the strings off - not because of any other reason than I've seen instances where the guitars have been thrown around so much that if they land face-down, the strings actual press into the frets or fretboard. Granted, not really on bass but have seen it 4-5 times on guitars I've bought, so I err on the side of caution and (touch wood) have not had any problems. Cheers, James
19. No chance of having it with the rosewood neck is there? Looked epic!
20. Is there a diy fix for the clipping then? Mine suffered something rotten with it.
21.
£600 and it's just sporting USB connectivity? Why no firewire (or Thunderbolt)?
Disappointed not to see an RS232 port either
