Well my Deko arrived and the neck was HORRIBLY 'S' shaped - I've adjusted it and it's improved a bit but there's still a massive dip in only part of the neck. Overall, I still reckon great VFM and I will be able to get it playable, just not with the action I'd ideally like. In other news, the body grain is something else and is REALLY well matched. I'm impressed! I've already done a rough re-shaping of the headstock (hate that headstock shape) and will be removing the logo (blank headstock FTW) when I come to tidy it properly. Pics will follow

Hi all My Dad and I made an Ampmaker amp over Christmas and absolutely loved the whole experience. We now want to look at other projects and I really fancy making my own on board three band EQ and preamp (perhaps with a couple of switches for extra stuff too). The patient bass that it will end up in is a Cort GB74 so a U-retro would drop straight in but we are dead keen to build something. Does anyone know of any guides plans or kits we could look at? Probably not the sort of thing you're after but for a cheap 'Jack of all trades' amp, I don't think you can beat the TC BH500. It's got dirt if you want it, spanky cleans if you don't - spectra comp for added fatness, tube drive and tweeter tone. Boat loads of tonal options!

Yeah, IMO the design is a bit of a pain - you have to watch SC as it'll cause clipping - 12 o clock is quite high, I use a dab, usually not over about 9 o clock and find that's loads!

Grab an Alto one from Gear4Music. Silly cheap and two year warranty. Done!

Almost impossible to prove or disprove but yes a dramatic change in extremes of temperature could cause it but my money would be on a sudden shock - enough to travel down the neck and cause movement enough to break the lacquer. Edit - were the strings detuned? And was the hard case one where the neck is actually put under tension when shut?

Well the replacement should hopefully get here tomorrow or Friday so fingers crossed! My. BH500 is back but I've got man flu and gavebt been up to testing it.
