1. Very very nice indeed!! Is that the Ash bodied one? Si
2. My experience of Ishibashi is that their turnover of stock is quite fast. I've enquired about a number of basses, and although they're pretty quick at replying (all things considered) most have been sold by the time they have. The Allparts P & J necks are Fender licensed goods, so although the headstocks are blank, they are the same dimensions as basic MIA/MIJ/MIM Fenders. They also do a number of different colour options on bodies, and u could choose black/silver/gold hardware, size and shape of tuners etc etc My advice if you're buying MIM is to try it first, although there are some great MIM's out there, you're less likely to get a good one ordering blind then if you go MIJ or MIA imo. Good luck Si
3. The other option, if you find it hard to get out and try stuff, is just order all the parts from Allparts or similar, all to your spec and sit at home and put it together yourself! Easy Si
4. I love my Aphex Compressor pedal but, as has been reported a number of times by various users, the plastic input jacks are becoming a problem and its starting to buzz and play up a bit. Has anyone managed to remedy this, either by having someone open one up and pimping it to 'gigging 3-4 times' standard, or any other way of making the jacks less fragile? Cheers Si
5. You asked about Fenders, so heres my 2 cents Go out and try some MIA P's i say, they're not worth £1000 but you can pick them up for £500 second hand easy, just avoid the S1 switching at all costs!! Its wicked on Jazz's but utterly pointless on the P's! I picked up my USA Jazz standard for a crazy price (just under £300) and i love it love it love it Very good advice above, sometimes a good setup is all a bass needs The Japanese models also really get bigged up, but i would say go for an Ash or Alder bodied ones, rather then the cheaper Basswood bodied ones! If you have no luck with these then definitley look further afield like Lakland, but like i said, you asked about Fender! Good luck Si
6. Looking forward to this, i think it will look like Cat Steven's Bass Player's gold flake ASAT (his name escapes me). U can get those gold strings (again make and model escape me) Its early after not much sleep I'm not a big fan of those 'humerous' logo's. I'd say either go for the actual Fender logo or try and do something like your own signature etc. I went for a Fender logo on my P Project because i like the aesthetic! Pics!!!! Si
7. Well i like my Fender Case lol I also have have a MusicMan style SKB case that i got from Eubassix! Great case, super sturdy, plenty of room for peripherals. Si
8. Maybe it is But the Ergodynes were definitely made from it! Si

10. My moulded logo fender case is great! Survived numerous gigs and tours and still lines up! But yeah, copy tweed cases can be ordered from most decent music shops for not much bunce! Si
11.
Ah, but like so many examples of the fairer sex, it's the imperfections that create the magic Chris
Exactly, definitely don't tell them you wish they were tighter! Si
12. Hey, i didn't bad-mouth the neck pocket did i, i just wanted pictures!
If the neck moves in the pocket tighten the screws up
A neck wouldn't move in the pocket if it was a tight fit! And just for clarity, this particular gap doesn't bother me Si
13. I use a Laney RB1 for practice at home! Fantastic little kick back amp for low to medium volumes, love the tone, don't need to crank it simply because its a practice amp really. I've used it on a couple of small upright gigs to great success, but thats about it. Si

15. So my poor Shuker Custom Electric Upright has been sitting in its case for a while now, having not had an upright gig in a long time. Obviously i can take pics although am just wondering what people think at the mo. The spec is the standard one found on John's website, although the body on mine looks deeper then his gallery pics, it's made from African Mahogany with an Imbuya Burl top and matching headstock, is 36" scale and has the Schertler transducer pickup system. The fingerboard is unmarked but has dots and lines on the side. It attaches to the supplied tripod stand The bass is in fantastic, almost mint condition apart from a couple of very very minor scuffs on the top of the headstock. It would come with the Shuker softcase and a bow, which, IIRC is a Stentor brazilwood w/ebony frog 3/4 bow costing about £120 new. Collection only as i would urge people to try it! It cost £1375 NEW + Bow = £1495 I would want around £900 for this or see possible trade list in post below Cheers for looking Si p.s. forgot to mention, theres a video on my personal myspace of me bowing the bass for Gabby Young, listen through headphones or decent speakers!
16. i dunno, i know a few! Si
17. Sounds interesting! However hellish that roundabout looks, it is in my eyes pure genius! Si
18. I think you'll find the politically-correct term is Civil Partnership lol Should be a laugh Si
19. Weren't the Ergodynes made from Luthite? Remember picking a couple up a few years ago and them being far from light!? Si
20. Beautiful! Hate to be anal but i don't suppose you have any more close up shots of the neck joint on both sides from the front? Cheers Si

22. So an early conclusion might be that a single piece body will resonate much better then 3 piece glued body (ignoring laminates & veneers etc), but a 3 piece body may sound better then a laminated body that uses badly matched woods!? Hmmm Si
23. Glad you found it helpful! As far as i know Newtone don't give out Endorsements as such, because they're a small 2 or 3 man company. But they make wicked custom strings and great prices and service, so i'm up for shouting them out to people! Si
