Been there, done this sh*t in the 70's. Every gig I do now, I bring £2500 of gear, 35 years of experience and on average 7 hours of my time. If you aren't paying me you are taking the piss and will get it right back at ya. These people are not promoters they are lazy twats taking the piss out of the gullible. If you do it, more fool you. You have more chance getting famous by doing some excellent you tube videos.

How about setting up a temporary thread for amp loans? There are some superb people on here. If somebody has their TC away for repair, they put up a post on the thread for where they are and when they need an amp to bail them out? I am sure plenty of us will help a local member if we can. Cheers, Karl.

TC Electronic BH250 Bass Amp – SAFETY PRODUCT RECALL
karlfer replied to bruce@tc's topic in Amps and Cabs
For those unfortunate enough to be in this position................. They are some superb people on Basschat, how about setting up some kind of amp loan thread, whereby if somebody is without one for a gig, they may be able to get a loan amp from somebody local? Just think it may help rather than stressing about getting your TC back in time. I know the ideal solution would be TC setting up loan amps, but this may not be practical. Just a thought. Good luck to all of you. -

Sad admission - losing sleep, obsessed with gear !
karlfer replied to hamfist's topic in General Discussion
Not quite not sleeping, but I have certainly had restless, er, moments? Nearly there now though, one bass to come, one cab to sell and Robert is your fathers bruvver. Keep the faith, you will get there, but it has to be said Basschat is an evil drug Karl. -
As hobbayne says about New Years Day. With or without you is a perfect example of a pop rock song that is perfect for live gigging. THAT bass line just forces girls to sway. I wish our lot would do the damn song.

£200 cheaper than the one that was on last week. I thought the chap who made them actually left Gordon Smith to set up on his own.

James is interested in my Schroeder 410 BMF. If he did end up buying it, I would be delivering from Wigan to Leeds and return. I may be able to help out with delivery if somebody bought his Eden? For example, if you lived in Birmingham and bought his Eden, I would pick it up for you and meet you at say Warrington, thus saving you 80 miles each way. Obviously only if James had bought my Schroeder, I'm kind, but not that kind . Good luck with the sale James, cracking piece of kit at an excellent price. Karl.

We have had discussions on making low offers to members selling before. If I thought I could have offered £530 for this and got it accepted I would have been down like a shot. I was going to offer a bit more for it, but I didn't want to risk offending the seller with what he might have thought a low ball offer. I live, but rarely learn . Karl.
Karl, does this mean the S12 is on it's way at last....?
The S12V HAS LANDED . Just! Thanks for the nice comments guys. With narrow doors on little house, I should have stuck with my Schroeder 1515L. The chance of one of them coming up 2nd hand? Not a lot. After this weekend, no more skinned knuckles at 2am (no, not from them dragging on the floor!) So, it is now surplus hence why I am quite partial to some kind of trade with for example a Miller, or a Shuttle 9, nice P or Ray,cash either way. Tell ya what, it's damn purdy Karl.

Pro class bass cab for sale in Wigan. Schroeder BMF 41O, 1200 watts, 4 ohms, weighs only 63lbs (most 410's are 85lbs+), to import new around £1300 plus carriage. Excellent condition with Roqsolid padded cover. Last 2 second hand ones I have seen have been £500 and £550, both plus carriage. REDUCED because I bought a bass this morning, so now sale only (unless you have a Japanese 70's re-issue or Paisley P!). NOW £400, collected from Wigan, £450 couriered mainland Britain. Serious bargain. Sorry, UK only. I can provide plenty of good feedback. Up there with the Bergs, Epifani etc IMO. Photo hopefully attached and a couple of comments from T***kbass. Please note, despite what they say, the actual weight is 63lbs. Also mine does not have castors. Any questions please fire away.
