1. Absolute pleasure to deal with you Jamie, enjoy the P. Thanks for everything, deal with utmost confidence folks.
2. You could measure up and get Roqsolid to do you one. I've used them for years and they are very good. Mind, they are getting a little less competetive price wise, despite their current "sale". Good luck.
3.
I don`t think the sound on some of the clips did you justice. It was good though
That's really kind timmo, cheers Don't actually know who or how it was recorded, it just kinda appeared. Only sound I could hear on the day was them 4 cabs behind me. Monitors? What monitors
4.
Cider through a straw Karl,not good ,

That's not cider Rich, it's night nurse
Think I know what you both mean. Or have both you splendid looneys been at MY meds
Wow. I just keep coming back to look at this beauty I've not played a RW P before - I have a RW Jazz, and it's my fave bass ever This would look so good alongside my Jazz Wish I were a bit closer to you, so I could at least try this bass out .... then again, it's Christmas & I've already spent loads - so maybe it's a good thing you're a long way away? lol GLWTS for an amazing looking bass, at a good price
Thanks Marc.
5. Somebody recorded all our Troyen set at Northumbria Uni, earlier on this year. This track, Futures Friend, although a bit cheesy is my favourite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JicTQrRWlVM Crazy Lady went down really well. Shame, cos I hate it
6. Good question, to which he replied he liked black
7.
Brilliant synopsis of the key eras of the Fender P! It's only in the last couple of years that I've come to appreciate the humble p-bass having spent the best part of 20 years before that deriding them as boring and unsophisticated (even referring to them as scaffolding planks with wires nailed on)! Loving precisions these days of course but a bit late to the party so a reference like this, all in one place, is really interesting and useful, thanks!
So many of us older chaps have had exactly that road
8. You know he's (^^^^) 75 now don't you!
9. Jaco, to me, did open up a vision of what was possible to achieve on a bass guitar. Perhaps forgotten areas due respect; He must have worked very hard to achieve his dexterity and technique. He must have thought a lot about how he developed that dexterity and technique. There will be yays and nays obviously, but, that is also part of his legacy. One of the two bands I'm in is a covers band. I use the first minute or so of Blackbird as a bass intro to Doctor Doctor . Don't really know what that says, but personally I am hugely grateful that I HAD THE CHOICE to listen to Jaco.
10.
If things start getting desperate I've got a metallic plum purple USA jazz, though it's a rosewood board
GONE THANKS. Thanks Muff (I've ALWAYS wanted to say that ) but the bass is now on hold. Thanks all, cheers, Karl.
11. Many thanks for that Superb 8 string you built there
12. Last gasp. Will do a straight swap for either; US Fender Jazz, maple board, excellent condition. US MM Sterling, maple board, excellent condition. Cheers, Karl.
13. Unfortunately Eternashine recommend not to use on nitro Anybody recommend a body shop in Wigan/surrounds that can do this sort of stuff?
14. Others have said it as well. Lovely bass but I couldn't live with that headstock.
15. Trips out on Fri and Sat night gigs as back up (in case of string break on P/J). Splendid photography as ever , feedback at bottom of post. 16. SOLD THANKS Thanks Mr. Floop, they are indeed most excellent. So much so, that despite 5 people being in various stages of moving gear to fund these, I'm strongly thinking of pulling them rather than just getting something tweeterless in a smaller box One chap asked if they were ok. Well, they are my only cabs, so, last night or Friday night, same gig different town , still a crappy photographer Feedback at bottom of post. 17.
Speechless that this is still here. If I had the money I'd have it in a heartbeat. GLWTS
So am I. Although Japanese 57 RI'S come up frequently, the US AV57RI comes up quite rarely. Here's a link to an interesting advert for a White Blonde one (as this was originally) from a couple of years back. The light (Swamp?) Ash used on these is a revelation compared to most Ash http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1615965 Thanks for all the further offers/trade offers. Incubass in particular, was close
18. Correct Lozz I have however, had some expert advice, which I'm going to start to organise from Monday 14th Dec. http://basschat.co.u...63#entry2926863
19. Thanks guys, more food for thought
20. Fabulous! Love ya knobs GLWTS
21. That is brilliant Gary, many many thanks Looking at that, it's sandpaper that is causing the issue on the finish. Going to get some order. Thanks so much fella cheers, Karl.
22.
Erm, I'm having a bit de-ja-vu here Good luck buddy
Well Andy, in selling/trading my 3 R***s, I had 3 Road Worns through my hands. I was keeping this one
Karl is excellent to deal with too. Win win.
Tom, so kind , hope you are fine fella!
23. 5000 made between 4 colours, in 1995 only. Most did not make it out of the Far East. Absolutely fabulous basses with a 40 mm nut, great neck, with tone from smooth John Paul Jones to growl like a pissed off Rottweiler. Great basses!!! EDIT, in fact if I wasn't trying to flog two basses, I would (in the best possible taste) rip your arm off!
24.
I was gonna say that you could turn it into one of them comic book basses. The basschattts who did them did a good job , for not much cash iirc;) Have a bump anyway
I don't know, you Syrian refugees with your free coffees and radical ideas (Calm down, it's a reference to another post RATM made )
25. Thanks for looking folks. I recently bought an AV57RI for £730 plus deliv, cheap because; A. Raised A pole pick up had been replaced with one of them EMG Geezer Butler non solder jobs. B. The guy had "refinished" it black. By his own comment, it wasn't great. Now, the A pole job, well quite a few folk have replaced them pups for different reasons, so, no biggie. The paint job, however, he said he'd intended T cut then lacquer over the top. After one gig I decided it wasn't for me so I put it up for sale at a slight loss. Needless to say, it isn't selling, neither is the other bass I have up. SO.................... Thought I'd ask for some advice on here, as if no basses go, I can't really afford £300+ for a pro strip/refin. It looks a little matt black where it's had some fore arm wear, the nitro black is not covered and has myriads of sort of scratches. The two pictures are about as good as somebody with my photographic skills (none) will get. Thanks in advance for any advice, cheers, Karl.
