1. This: A very special 5 string fretless, no pictures exist of it (yet) A very special something else, that has no pictures (yet), and can't be explained.
2. nah, ok. i can't be that bad. unfortunatly after all that suspense i don't have a lot to tell you. apart from that it wasn't glossy, but that it looked very, very nice he also showed me all the gubbins that he has to squeeze into it. that things gonna have more electronics than a gun ship!
3.
Oh really? Are you gonna leave me hanging like that matey?
yes. i am.
4. i saw this yesterday
5. i'll be keeping an eye out on this one. i spent years working on and working out all the little bits for Tocatta in D Minor, and it's something i'm pretty proud of in recent times i've tried to do it with a couple of other pieces and they've all fallen flat on their face pretty quickly..
6. i once tried a squire telecaster with a great flame in the neck. it was so lovely, i walked out the shop with it
7. oh my god... i've actually fallen in love..
8. thats stunning!
9.
looking at forums like this possibly gives them an idea of demand and market reaction. their websites would be able to tell them where links were clicked.
yeah, my first thought when i saw it was that they've probably seen the thread on this site and realised they could be selling it for a lot more.. ha ha! and +1 johnnylager, i think ive finally got something that makes up for selling my akai deep impact for £75
10. as i'm sure a few of you are aware, absolute music were doing the LH500 for £185 a short while ago. the normal retail being £249. just went onto the site today to show a friend who may have been interested and i gotta say i was pretty shocked by what i saw: Absolute price - £345. Retail - £396 thats a £150 hike on the retail. what gives?
11.
Think there's a fretted one in the for sale section for £375 - having that de fretted wouldn't cost a lot more..
ha ha! when i first saw it for sale that was the first thing to pop into my head. however the jewel in the crown of the kingston i had was the ebenol (composite) fretboard that really made it sing! and i always assumed the GW sig was a lot more than £500... might have to look into them
12. i had an MTD kingston fretless 5, and cannot recomend it highly enough, superb instrument in every respect. deeply regret selling it as they're like hens teeth it seems. i think the market is limited for reasonably priced 5 string fretless basses. you seem to have the uber-cheap ebay stuff, then nothing really of note till you edge towards the grand mark. and i don't think your alone with your budget because 2nd hand examples always seem to fetch good prices. so..um.. good luck
13. it think this music was just too ahead of it's time... looks like just over a YEAR ahead of it's time judging by this thread another late discoverer here. funk, jazz and dnb are 3 of my most favoured musical directions. so you've flicked all my switches! lovely work if this has been in hiatus, what you doing at the moment?
14. i've delt with smart in the past and found them to be top notch. i wouldn't worry about import charges or anything, they're in the UK. what you see is what you pay
15.
Well he's wrong! It could have blown the tweeter but it categorically could not have blown either woofer. No way José! Probably a defective driver, just bad luck. Alex
hmm... i too was suprised by the response, but figured that Jorg probably knew more than me. but i'm pretty sure you know more than me too! so... would be suprised if it was a defective driver as it worked fine for a while.
16.
from what I can see, the player looks a bit of a corker :brow:
yes, blonde hair and one eye. phwoar!!
17. well for those interested. talked to Jorg and he thinks the 150w amp could have blown it as it's too under-powered, and there's a replacement on it's way to SHX. what a chap!
18. no amp for the first year and a half then a Trace Elliot Commando 15 (no photo) then a Peavey 115 closely followed by the 2x10TVX cabinet (i have photo's, but can't find them..) followed by a Sansamp RBI pre, Gemini power and Glockenklang Double (2x12) then over time, RBI replaced by a mixing desk (long, boring story), added a Schroeder 1210R to the Glock pre/power was replaced by an EA iamp 350, Schroeder left me, so back to just Glock (long story) EA replaced by old mixing desk/poweramp (boring story) Glock replaced by Schroeder 1212L Desk/poweramp replaced by Hartke LH500 so, just incase that confused the hell out of you, this is what i have now
19. bought an xbox 360 game in Game for 24.99 new. didn't like and i just sold it on ebay for 25 quid! however my plastation 2 with 13 games auction is almost over. £10, no bids, no watchers.. so.. hit and miss?
20. i'm certain it's the speaker as the buzzing is coming from the inner speaker only, and only stops when i press that speaker. the 150w amp was a Phonic PA head thing, never above jam or quiet gig levels. i'm now using a Hartke H500, which hasn't been above solo rehersal volume. the buzz is present when using either. i did indeed get the cab as B stock from SHX, only cosmetic impurities. i do believe it still came with warrenty though i'll have to go look back and check.
21. EDIT: scroll down to see results! last week my cab started making a bit of a buzz on tones around D string 9th fret. the sort of buzz that drives you crazy and turns out to be a shelf on the other side of the room thats loose. but it wasn't it was coming from the cab, so i had a look round inside and couldn't find anything loose. then, as i was playing a note (so it was buzzing) i pressed one of the speaker cones and the buzzing stopped... uh oh over the last week the buzzing has got steadily worse (only been playing at solo practice volumes) and now there's just a sort of mild low hum behind all the notes. i would assume that i've blown it, but it's an 800w Schroeder 1212L and i haven't put power greater than 150w's through it... so is it something else?
22. i played an artist many moons ago when i got my bass and it's a lovely middle ground between acoustic and solid. and you know with jon the work will be top notch. so if it's a hollowbody you want i think it'll be a great choice! as for the acoustic. Jon used to do acoustics in collaboration with another person, but for un-known reasons it didn't work out and he stopped the line..
23. grrrr i really really want this! but i don't NEED this! GAS can really tear you up inside! good luck with the sale
24. haha! just came up here to post a thread about these. an add popped up on facebook which was a suprise! this stuff certainly LOOKS good, and to be honest, the guy talking about them make them SOUND good. will be keeping an eye on this stuff with much interest
