1. i amend mine. 7 - 6.1 - 2.3 gotta be accurate with these things! oh, and how do you find out what valve you have. gotta take the cover off?
2. i have owned both. i can't think of how the 10 would have any advantage over the 12, the tweeter will take care of the high end and there's more than enough punch in the 12's. and 2 12's will handle the lows better than a 10 and 12. so i would say go with 1212
3.
Don't forget y'all that flat is 2,10,2 on the EQ, not 5,5,5. If you have the treble pot much above 0 then you're likely to be boosting the highs which will accentuate any noise. Effectively bass is boost only, mid is cut only and treble is boost only. Alex
i didn't know that, but now you mention it. it certainly makes sense!
Indeedy. We just used 5-5-5 as a starting point for our tests My LH500 looks more like 7-5-2 normally...
i think 7-5-2 is around the area that mine has found most comfortable so far too
4. me too i gas for a thumb every now and then, and that one is HOT!
5.
Awesome, how does it sound? I'm a bit wary of that boost only EQ...
for the last few months i've been using a Phonic 150w PA head as an... ahem... "amp".. and i've been happy with the sound, compared to that the sound with the hartke was instantly deeper, punchier and clearer. deffinitly seems to have balls, even at low volume* as for the boost only eq, i'm still a little confused by it. set everything to zero and you have silence, but surely if it's boost only you need a signal to 'boost'... to be honest i've found that setting everything in the middle gives me a good starting ground, then just eq like normal. can't find any difference of note* to a normal amp eq frankly. so i don't think it should be a worry *still haven't tried it out "in anger" so don't know if there'll be any suprises there
6. i really want this... pm'd
7. Posted this in the 'show us your rig!' thread. but i think it more than qualifies for this thread too! powerfull, punchy, deep, lightweight and CHEAP! i can carry the whole setup in 1 go, and rig cost under £600 ^_^
8. for the last few months i've been without a propper bass rig. and i've now finally got one together: powerfull, punchy, deep, lightweight and CHEAP! i can carry the whole setup in 1 go, and rig cost under £600 ^_^
9. i look forward to 50 posts in a row in the 'show us your rig' thread sporting pics of this new head!
10. got mine yesterday and had a play around with it in my room. gotta say, i absolutely love this amp! Volume, bass, mid, treble. could it get any more simple?!
Had a very quick play with mine yesterday. Nice tone. Was a bit surprised at how low volume it is with gain at 12 o'clock (my Markbass is well loud at nine o'clock) but the volume seems to increase exponentially beyond that. Looks perfect for what I need
glad you said about the volume thing as my experience was exactly the same, playing with the volume at 12 o'clock getting a little worried because it didn't sound 250 watts loud look forward to trying it in anger!
11. damn, an hour was too slow! gotta be quick on these forums!
12. I'm having trouble sorting the head for my new rig, and for the last month or so have actually been using a Phonic PA head... this will do nicely as a stand in while i get my new one together, and i'm sure will then work great as a backup later! thanks Absolute!
13.
Me like. Me like. The Glock Duo 2x12 cab I have is the best sounding cab I've had, (Accugroove, Bergantino, Hartke, Peavey, Ashdown, Ampeg, HH, Marshall). If this amp is anything like my cab, then you'll be sorted.
it's not Duo, thats the 2x10. it's the Double you have. i wont tell you again! and yes, the Glock stuff is fan-bloomin-tastic. would love to try some of the heads, but would never be able to live with the size!
14. wow, blast from the past this thread! well, i say 'blast from'. but more of a 'subtle reminder of'. wasn't the most exciting thread in the world.
15.
my garage and my rigs for all occasions
i have exactly the same yamaha bass, and my drummer has exactly the same electric kit. just thought i'd let you all know

17. i would love to give you £500 for this. but i can't right now. if it's still kicking around after christmas i may have to look at my finances again

19.
