I admire your dedication dude , I only recently found out why I have got a music room , apparently Mrs Lurks' grandad had a baby grand , an organ, a euphonium, and a few other instruments that escape me , all in the front parlor of the house, thats why I am allowed one , though in honesty I didnt really seek permission , i just built it Anyway , enough distractions , Ive got five songs to learn for a wedding gig rehearsal tommorrow night ! I still enjoy gigging but have taken a sabbatical for a year so that I can claim back a bit of my social life . There’s nowt wrong to the social side of gigging , but the amount of family get togethers and weekends away that I have missed over the years has started to bug me . A year out and making good use of my weekends will dictate whether I join up as a weekend warrior again

I should be back in the saddle this month , the toon is done but the vocal is shyte , I suspect it shall remain so i find it far harder to do these in the summer, the garden beckons , in fact all outdoors beckons , shutting the doors in the music room on myself doesn’t appeal the same as it does in the winter

Well , this could be in the awesome thread TBH , I fancied popping down to that London to see a mates art exhibition in Sydenham . another mate said he’d come as well, so that ruled out the train, and as the art mate doesn’t know we are heading down, it’s probably a touch rich expecting floor space, so I joined ‘air bnb’ well , 2 beds in an apartment for £40 all in seems a right bargain so, for the 2 of us, a tank of gas at £80, £40 room leaves £68.00 change from what the day return train would have cost. maybe a beer or two will be in order 😎

That one is quite weird , Martin is a good friend of a friend of mine , and I bump into him at family event that my friend puts on . It is very odd to see this down to earth brummie, who you really wouldn’t know in the street, rocking it out to 30,000 dudes who are singing along to your hits I don’t know why it should be odd , but then, I don’t have much social interaction with the stars

The ‘arts’ is probably built on benefactors funding pieces on commission, paintings, sculpture and even classical composers. if he gets one benefactor who loves his music he is set up , but I’m not sure that crowdfunding is the way to find it though
