  1. For those who have had any interest piqued , the January challenge can be found here
  2. I loved gigging , but I also love doing lots of other things , having had my diary prioritised by the band commitments , I had missed out on loads of family and friends occasions that I really wanted to do. A couple of well timed aggravations in the band setting was just enough for me to realise that my priorities now lie outside the band .
  3. Nah I left the band and can now do whatever the f**k I want to on a Saturday
  4. Bizarrely, if I was gigging on a Saturday it felt like my prep was all afternoon, I couldn’t get around the fact I had to be thinking about getting prepped ! Friday gigs were far better , I worked all day, went home and then had half an hour to get my shizz together , it felt I hadn’t wasted half a day thinking about it
  5. Well done all , a great turnout, and some splendiferous performances, I think it’s @Dad3353 turn to pick a photo if he would like to, as he took the honours back in November
  6. My thoughts exactly
  7. do you have any other instruments to try with it ? Can you hear the bass while monitoring it with headphones either through the DAW or direct from the onyx?
  8. I was waiting for someone else to see the obvious but refuse to quit , it’s your gig , let the guitarist walk , give it a couple of weeks , then quit , ticks most boxes
  9. It’s like the general economy in micro , while people have confidence in the value of these things, the value will hold up , but if the value in a guitar is that it was a present from grandad, mum and dad or wife for instance , or it was one that has particular band or gig memories. then keeping it on a stand in the corner of the room is value enough. Nail it to a wall as a decoration or as a cherished memory, fine by me, I think an emotional attachment to an instrument is easily as important as its monetary value
  10. Or 5 voted for 2 , or 2 voted for 3 and 2 for 2 or .,....... That happens , it always has , I don’t think we need to make it an offence mind I guess if someone finds an entry particularly worthy of a single vote to show their view of its quality then so be it. or maybe they just don’t RTFM ed to add it is not regarded as good etiquette to vote for your own entry ladies and gents
  11. Seasons greetings and festive felicitations to one and all .
  12. do you set your kit up the wrong way round
  13. Ah well I suppose I had best throw my hat into the ring now as I wont get any time to polish this one, or even roll it it glitter. I was hoping to get a choral type vocal from Lurksalittle to set it up properly , but thats not going to happen any time soon, she is not up for putting any effort in please note the cute picture to generate some interest
  14. Congratulations dude though It must be costing you a fortune changing your style of hat so often
  15. Just a quick reminder that December’s composition challenge is on and that if you or your band have a recording done this year of a song you have covered, you can enter it here , rules etc are in the thread
  16. Sounds very promising buddy , best wishes
  17. If I cover that for the December Challenge , I think it would break the irony meter
  18. Who is in charge of ordering the taxis around these parts
  19. Oh Douglas you are a star
  20. Reaper has updated to version 6 its different from what I’ve been used too , it’s nothing in the scheme of things , but when I suddenly get a spark and I’m told my money has run out and the interface is a little alien , it just sucks , not massively, but I need everything in my favour to stop me from mass hair extraction by pulling
  21. To be fair it’s a good warm up bass line as well , with a nice deep but clunky tone you can own that song , got be on it rhythmically as it is driven by the low end
  22. I don’t but the singer does , but I think it is purely a confidence thing , beds are burning is his go to first set starter and I have to go back a couple of years to recall a gig that didn’t start with it
  23. Well in there Douglas , I have nothing done so will have to start from scratch as usual , but I have a million other things on. I am hoping for some inspiration soon , even though ‘tradition’ would suggest I have already had a full years notice of the challenge
