some good ideas thinking on. Maybe Paul could rig up some contentious title to next months voting to attract some clickbait
-
Not sure about that , but maybe one of the challenge rules for bass, could be that you should not be using a 5 string or more , after all Jaco only needed 4
-
you could pick lots of parts from it for US TV series in their day, Its great , just a bit of tweaking is all
-
I will of course always defer to you on all things recording , but when I was at that point , better quality sound was nowhere near my wish list , just getting the f******g thing working consistently would have been fine , oh and latency , both ways , oh boy . On starting up I spent far more time figuring out why I couldn’t get sounds on to my computer , recorded and back to some speakers than Mick at his softest . then I bought a scarlet 2i2 and everything just fell into place and I could actually think about the music
-
Ah bugger , if you tap up @fingers211 he might give you a heads up on the picture he will pick for next month 😉 this glib and facetious attempt at humour will probably come back to bite me
-
I spent a bit of time trying to use work arounds , if you really have no choice , try it, but I would certainly get the bit of kit that is designed to do the job you need it for, it saves a lot of heartache!

It’s working now , ace

I don’t know if @Skol303 can edit the poll, it closes on Tuesday , you can always post it anyway
-
When you get to start hearing that you have recorded your own swearing , you have pretty much cracked it
-
Keep your eye on the guide to recording at the top of the forum , full of info , just be patient , you will take one step forward and 2 steps back on more than one occasion , but once you start getting results , you’ll be wearing a proper smile

Oh jeez Project Sam create an account, fine download fine Native , tried forever to create an ID, kept getting errors it wouldn’t let me set up an account , only to find I already had one ! Then had to faff to get the directories to work , then had to faff to get reaper to see it then had to get Kontakt to see my midi and every step is hindered by my own incompetence , well, it’s just that I tend to leave everything alone and don’t mess, so when I have to mess , I’ve got to learn it all over again . Having sussed Sam , I spent the last hour loading some free Kontakt sounds , and still can’t get them to make a f*****g sound . The inside of my head is now mush , I need a couple of weeks to myself 😉
-
3 1/2 hours later I’ve got it working , now sapped of inspiration , I’ll head back to it later
-
you can use it for free , you just have to click that you are still evaluating it, TBH the cost for what you get is great value , I'm signed up
-
That looks a bit lush , I’ll need to have a play with that, thanks for the heads up ,

You’ld think ! I am sure there will be more voters, but I really would like to see loads of BCers dive in and join in , we ought to do 2 a month now that people are getting locked down, having said that, I reckon @Dad3353 could offer a decent effort every week
-
Fantastic set of tunes there ! brilliant , I could easily vote for any of the 5! @Teebs you can have a listen to my interpretation of what your virtual triangle solo would have sounded like
-
This is what I do to keep playing and let my creative juices loose. Really, it’s awesome fun , I am amazed more people don’t get involved. next week when the voting is done and a new picture is posted, you can set your creativity free and practice your writing, playing, recording and production skills its a proper win, win, win, win

The notifications / go to last unread, seem a bit temperamental on a few threads from immediate recall , the Coronavirus thread and the gig thread particularly, if I click on the note “someone has quoted you” it doesn’t take me to the post , just to the top of the page , same with ‘go to last unread ‘ first world problem granted , but irritating non the less ! TIA .

How to raise cash for a better bass? Is it even possible?

If it floats or fùcks ...........rent it! -
I am a co-owner of a double glazing company in Chester , I started in windows and glazing when I left school and somehow never got out . i still enjoy being on the tools , but get just enough time to keep on top of a lot of the admin and complications that are business related. It helps sharing ownership as I get time off when I require and know that there is someone trustworthy to keep it all together. It started off as mates doing weekend work 30 years ago .... we’re still mates and still at it !

there's not a lot wrong with that mix old timer , a great listen
-
Haven't you just

Ok a silly one from me, I was holding out for a triangle solo from @Teebs but I didn't really have the time to offer him to enable him to zone in on the direction I was offering So I did it myself in the end................... as you will probably tell Neighbours

Just a thought , something we’ve all missed, unless i skimmed to quick, check the walls for pipes and cables before you drill into a pipe or or electric back box. More likely a metal built wall stud systems, but don’t actually see them being used that often in the work I do, but probably a fair few around I guess

The End! “Auditions for The 602...a diary.”

I don’t know how that will sit , I think it could be a touch early to get him to put his pride and joy down and play some randomly bought “rock” guitar . It might be getting him to question how much he wants the gig. I don’t know the dude , but if it was happening to me I’d be thinking twice
