1.
I know the thread's drifted off it but I just thought I'd clear up the initial point, Muse do not mime (apparently the Olympics performance was mimed as they all were but that's the only exception). Bellamy has a habit of singing far from the mic and his vocals set up is geared to compensate for it, they use a mic with a long range, run it through a compressor, adjust the gain manually etc. Perhaps more to the point though, I thought Jools had a blanket no miming policy?
Cheers Bob , I guess it is a lot of component trickery , it just didn't seem right , when you hear something and see something and it doesn't quite compute IYSWIM .
2. This is not just a pop in and vote , the compositions and production is incredible , fantastic stuff and well worth the time to investigate .
3. Awesome collection of entries , just incredible , and am totally confused how to vote , so I will have to start a score card system , which means I will have to listen all over again .......and again.......and again
4.
fantastic! IMO, few things are better than your other half enjoying your performance.
Fnaar Fnaar
5. I'll give it another go , it could be the colon issue . many thanks Ed to add , it works now , I must have been doing it wrong , thanks for the advice .
6. does anyone know if the calendar is working properly , I was hoping to pop my next gig on it for next Friday (30/11) at Brookers Rock Bar in Chester , but I leep getting errors for the wrong date coming up . any ideas where I am going wrong , or is there an issue ??
7.
eeeeeeer
I think this is fantastic, but does it come with any other accents, Bump
8. Don't buy it just because it a bargain , buy it if you'll use it , and I have to say it is VERY useable.
is whether or not I have the option to constantly run a dry bass line signal. theres plenty outputs and no doubt I can do it via the 2 XLR outs, but I was hoping I could run a single line into my amp,
This can certainly be done using the Mono XLR channel , with the pre - effects button activated , you could probably have a cable adaptor to jack for the amp .
9.
to my shame it was merry christmas everybody by slade ahhhh the joys of being in a function band around this time of year
I have to brush up on that this weekend ,and springsteen 'santa clause is comin to town' , and Frankies power of love . I love playing Slade stuff , Hmm .........Slade tribute band
10. a couple of gigs ago our lead guitars wife came along, wanting to impress ,he put on a show ........only to be told by his Mrs he was too loud , what a beautiful sulk . Our guitarists are generally really good , it is just a question of getting them to remember that the vocal needs a bit of space when its his turn
11.
I've got a B2.1u already and have started using it as a recording interface, going through the USB->Mac. Any thoughts on whether the sound quality for recording with this would be better than the 2.1? For that matter, is this unit really different from my 2.1 apart from a few more knobs and switches? Worth the 'upgrade' or just carry on as is?
As an interface I have used the 2.1 but not tried the 9.1 yet , but as I have yet to get my head around the DAW I might not have an answer , but I will try over the weekend . For 'upgrade' It depends on what you use it for, my 2.1 was a bit battered was probably due a retirement so this was perfect and an upgrade , they do have a much stronger and fuller sound than the 2.1 and at first glance appears much easier to use. the preamp/eq is easier to work on , and various effects can be just tapped on and off in the same patch.
12. I have found that the distorted effects really hold the bottom end much better than I expected , this will be a keeper for me. I love the Aux in , it will simplify my practice set up a fair bit. There are some great patches which you can twist the pedal for some awesome delay and distortion , may not be perfect for Mustang Sally , but would totally suit a monster solo
13.
I had a quick blast on it in Manual mode last night, is there a way of preselecting patches before actually changing to that patch in manual mode? I assume you can do this in play mode? Can anyone tell me exactly what combination I would need to press?
The function buttons can be programed to switch from manual to play , so you can access your patch in play then hit the button to go to manual mode .
14. Mine arrived today, I think I will be commanding a bit more stage space now , either that or it will get trod to death , the last stage I played I had to put the B2.1u on my amp for lack of room First impressions are good , it looks a bit easier to play with than the 2 , but I doubt I will get as far as doing the twist on the 3D pedal It certainly feels a substantial bit of kit . thanks again Wayne
15. KB you are miles further up the path than I am . 51m0n , Quality post, thanks millions, though it is probably waaaay past my expertise at the moment . Ed to add I have been through a few You Tube tutorials , but I find it very frustrating that a) even for beginners they assume you know stuff and use techy words lots of stuff they try do doesnt work for them first time so they do it again
16. Cheers all , KB and MacD , I feel your pain ( though hopefully not ALL yours KB !! ) Thanks for the words of encouragement to everyone , I will study the manual and see if that helps , some of the hassle I get is stupid things like , the output device keeps changing from the usb to speakers , and daft things like that so I never know if I am pressing the wrong button, the software is crook , or the computer just hates me. but this keeps happening with lots of daft little pesky things . I will report on my progress , I think that you tube tutorial might be a start , I learnt to play a couple songs on the piano like that Thanks again
17. I use Roto flats , I have no technical reasons for liking them , they feel good and sound fine to me , and when I snapped an end when swapping a set to an old guitar , they sent me a new string FOC. that reminds me I do need a new set and probably another for a new toy due soon
18. Esteemed followers of the recording sections of the forum . May I pay homage to the results I hear that come from your expertise , but I cannot grasp the process. I see comments on different options and have just downloaded Reaper , I have tried audacity , cubase LE and a couple of others I am sure , BUT , they all seem so counter intuitive , is it me , am I losing it ? I grasped photoshop , spreadsheets , word , even powerpoint but all these DAW jobbies just do my head in . I just seem to hit a hurdle every step , I even saw a post that said to copy and paste in Reaper was a piece of p155 , but that appears to be beyond me. I really want to get into this as it focuses the technique somewhat and while I can use it as a practice aid quite well , as soon as I try to get past the very basics I am lost . This is just a rant I suppose , as no-one will have enough info to help me , even the reaper wiki leaves me cold , I just think a level of numptie is probably a painfully hard upward learning curve , but I just can't see the logic so far , IYSWIM
19. I have a Spector legend which I have played for 3 years and love it , a reasonably priced Korean made bass and it is excellent.
20. Welcome dude , good timing aswell , there is a thread on here that must be close on clearing your boys out of your Zoom b9.1ut's ,
21. we did a fundraiser last night , and everyone was well up for a party , one of the PA cabs died at the sound check so a quick shuufle to use a moniter cab in its place and work around the stage sound , it was quite bizarre that the age of the dancers was a little maturer than normal , always a bit nervy when you are belting out 'sex on fire' and the grannies are singing and strutting back at you .
22. I could not resist this pedal. My b2.1u has been battered to bits and was due to be replaced , but this will do the trick nicely for a similar price . I will have a bit of fun trying it out I am sure. I might need some narrower boots though Cheers Wayne , more commission due I reckon
23. I love playing the song , I love the dual guitar parts , I love my bit too , but it never seems to get a decent reaction , we do it well , it rocks and sound superb but it is not a big hitter with most audiences ,
24.
Sorry mate, but you haven't a clue.

Can I ask what kind of music you're into?
I enjoy a fairly wide spectrum thanks, but I struggle with Steely Dan , oh and rap , I appreciatte it is very clever, but it does nothing for me. While It seems to me a bit random , I guess it is very difficult to get it as together as they do , and they may be throwing a bucket full of random chords in the air and playing them in both the order and the time sequence that they landed , but they all do it together. It might be the most technically brilliant stuff in the world , but I can't listen to it, I have tried . even bought an album as loads of mates waxed lyrical about them, but it grates. No offence to anyone who loves their stuff.
25.
my other half and her friend have just been watching the X Factor.... ive been accused of being cynical and taking music too seriously... the only people i can turn to for some back up are my fellow bass players.... when i was young i was brought up with stevie wonder, chaka khan, steely dan.....
Taking music too seriosly .......Steely dan ........UGH , I am sure they composed songs by throwing a bucket full of random chords in the air and playing them in both the order and the time sequence that they landed .
