http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgWNI5I45Gc lots of fusion in his music, which i think can be seen in this track..the mix of these is fantastic imo.. his other stuff is, out there.. Donald Byrd.. Out of all the Acid Jazz ive listened to over the years i still think James Taylor Quartet's 'In the Hand of the Inevitable' is the best album ive heard.. its def on the soul side of Acid Jazz though.. cant say i really dig the hardcore hammond organ acidjazz heard on other JTQ albums
This sort of cliche gets bandied about all the time, though I am sure there is some truth in it, Stuart Hamm playing a Kubicki still sounds like Stuart Hamm. Stuart Hamm playing an Urge II still sounds like Stuart Hamm even though the bass tone is different. If you took a '59 P Bass and gave it to Mark King and asked him to slap Mr. Pink out on it, I'm sure he could but the tone is never going to be right.
ive got to agree.. i really dont get this..its all in the fingers..? if Victor played a stingray hes not going to sound like Victor on a Foderaw.. yeah he may play the same licks, but the tone will be different..

This is the badboy for me.. awsome bass..
Good stuff! Move Me No Mountain was played by Anthony Jackson, along with a few other tracks on the album (Naughty 1980). Well worth getting hold of if you haven't already.
ive kept it under my pillow for many years now.. just couldnt remember the players..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYqQn99ppeY What a great soul track....fantastic production.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IK42oUNyojY a great example of Marcus Millers fantastic slap mixed with fingerstyle.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ549k4wKmg Do you love what you feel.. Thoughts of bad hair cuts and image aside.. i gotta say i really dig this.. they are f***in TIGHT..these guys can play... i wouldnt even recognise this as a Brit cover.. I think Danny Saucedo is a fantastic bassist.. if you can play those licks, still smiling and blow your hair away at the same time, your ok in my book.. There is no doubt the singer is a great pianist and a great singer... yep the drummer is killing too.. they make for a killer rythm section.. they are a very good 3 piece... yes its pop, but its great great funky pop... more GAS for you Chris.. i havent seen a band like this who play like this in a while.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko0kdCf0zTE...feature=related sh*t i sound like a fanboy..
