  1. Fingers crossed!
  2. Murder On The Dancefloor - Sophie Ellis Bextor
  3. NFC enabled IIRC
  4. If only I'd had decent cash in those days, and the knowledge of what to buy. I did nearly buy a chequer bound 4001 in the late 80's, but it was what we would call "play worn" these days (or knackered as I called it then). The shop were asking a lot for it too. Had a couple of nice, entry level Matsumoku basses at the time. Wish I could have afforded better models.
  5. Did the last lot of merch as cash and PayPal. A lot of people recommended Sum Up for card payments. The readers aren't too expensive.
  6. I run the POD Go into the Return on the FX loop of my amp, bypassing the preamp. Works for me.
  7. For the record, I use a Line6 POD Go, meets all the things I want it for. But for effects, something like the HX FX or the Zoom B2 Four / B6 would be ideal.
  8. Wouldn't one of the Retro StingRay's be better...? And loads of chorus of course.
  9. Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
  10. Fabulous looking bass, shame you don't get on with it, as they really are ace (not that I'm biased). GLWTS.
  11. Of course, everything depends on your budget, the BDI21 will get you in the ball park, the SansAmp will defintely give you options. You could also maybe look at the Tech21 Bass Fly Rig, the v2.0 has both the BDDI and the VT Bass circuits, as well as a compressor, chorus, filter and a tuner. There was one for sale in the Effects section not too long ago. If you want to go digital, there's the HX FX, which includes models of the BDDI, Darkglass, Pearce & Noble pre's, as well as a whole load of other effects. You could look at picking up a Zoom B2 Four / B6 or and older B3n/B3. The Boss ME or GT processors have loyal fans.
  12. The weight was always a downside to the SB range. They always were darn fine basses though, and the current repro's look great. Shame they're not doing a twin pickup version at the moment, as I'd be very tempted.
  13. That is a thing of beauty. GLWTS.
  14. Sad news indeed. Condolences to his family & all that knew him.
  15. Midnight at the Oasis - Brand New Heavies
  16. We Are Detectives - The Thompson Twins
  17. All the modern stuff they've done with Paul sounds great, he's such an underrated player.
  18. Bicycle Race - Queen
  19. POD Go v2.50 has been released. Will mine update later after work. 2 new bass amps, 2 new bass cabs, a new bass wah & the Noble pre-amp model.
  20. What about a cheap fretless from Harley Benton / Gear4Music / Vintage?
  21. My son bought some Hi Hats from Thomann, and they took over a week and a half to arrive due to the DHL "black hole". I ordered him some new sticks as part of his Christmas present from a UK supplier, but despatched via DHL, same thing, nearly 2 weeks to arrive, a phone call to DHL, and a few days later, they miraculously turned up. Did the same with his Thomann order (and advised him to contact Thomann as well), again, miraculously they turn up a few days later. The irony is, he works part-time in the warehouse of one of the local couriers that DHL sub-contract out to.
  22. The Rockinbetter circuit was completely different to that of a Ric, where it "replicated" the layout of a Les Paul rather than a Ric. IIRC: Switch up was the neck pickup, switch down was the bridge pickup, middle is obviously both. The top row of knobs is Volume & Tone for the neck pickup, bottom row of knobs is Volume & Tone for the bridge. Again, IIRC, there was little variation in tone from 0 to around 60-70%, then it was a noticeable lift in treble. The ones that I had were always set with full volume and tone on the bridge pickup, around 75% volume and full tone for the neck, both pickups selected. Although it doesn't quite sound like a Ric, it gets most of the way there, and the necks are pretty much dead on. Have fond memories of my old Rockinbetter's. Enjoy.
  23. There's a Bass Fly Rig for sale in the Effects, that has both the BDDI and VTDI on separate channels (from what I'm lead to believe from the blurb), as well as a compressor, chorus, and a filter.
  24. Down in a Hole - Alice in Chains
