  1. It's been discussed a few times, but that's as far as it went. The singer was all for it, but the guitarist / songwriter was adamant it wouldn't happen. The drummer's not really available, as he died a few years ago. It'd be a one off, and probably no one would turn up, but it would be fun to revisit some of those songs again.
  2. Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini - Timmy Mallet
  3. Snake Bite Love - Motorhead
  4. Very nice indeed!
  5. Tanglewood always used to make a nice range of affordable, good quality acoustics. Likewise, Vintage Guitars. The only recommendation I could make, is that with Acoustic guitars especially, you need to go to a few shops and try out a shed load of instruments to find one that sounds and plays the best to you.
  6. Wings of a Duck - Madness
  7. Another reason to fuel my GAS for a HX Stomp...
  8. My son was raving about them after they played a local festival (Belladrum). He managed to speak to the drummer, who was a seriously decent bloke, and a good laugh, apparently. Made his day when the drummer gave him a signed stick (my son's a drummer). Their set was featured on the BBC Scotland footage of Belladrum if you have access to BBC Scotland content on iPlayer.
  9. Keep practicing, but if you do miss notes or whatever, just keep playing and pick up the song as quick as you can. Most of the time, no one will notice. If you do mess up at a gig, then don't make a fuss about it or show people you've messed up (shaking your head or pulling faces etc.), laugh it off and enjoy the show. The only person who'll give you a hard time about it is you.
  10. The local scene here is awash with singer/songwriters. There's a few bands, but most of them are basically singer/songwriters who've roped their mates in. Even cover bands seem to be few and far between, tons of Trad Scottish / Ceilidh bands though.
  11. IIRC, he had a stroke in 2022, and they were back on tour in 2023. And to be fair, he is 72, so I don't think anyone's going to begrudge him stepping back from 2-3 hour shows. Saw them in Glasgow last year with my son, and Nicko didn't miss a beat.
  12. Jesus Built My Hotrod - Ministry
  13. Must admit, I have never tried it, as I only have 1 amp (either the dual output or the stereo output to a splitter). There is definitely a bass cut on the neck pickup at full volume, roll it off a tad, and it comes back nicely. I've tried the Vintage Circuit a few times, but again, it seems as though it's a bass cut.

  15. Indeed, anything suitable for mainland Europe is suitable in the UK.
  16. A band doing something interesting locally would be nice. Until then, it will be just GAS. Apart from that: Dingwall D-Roc (the sparkly blue 4 string) Gibson Ripper Guild B302 An 8 string (octave course) A semi-acoustic with twin single coils, preferably long scale EBS Magni 502 Laney Digbeth 500 & associated cab (undecided which one) Line6 HX Stomp XL Other bass related stuff...
  17. Rickenbacker 4001/4003 Gibson Thunderbird MusicMan StingRay
  18. There She Goes - The La's
  19. Life in a Northern Town - The Dream Academy
  20. Clear with the cord and the tab.
  21. Night Swimming - REM
  22. Enjoy your new Ric!
  23. I think that the two gentlemen in question should grow up, and realise that they are no longer inhabitants of the school playground.
  24. Pudding Time - Primus
  25. Wooden Heart - Elvis
