1. In our current set there are a couple of songs that require me to take the solo, but sadly at the moment it they aren't cutting through too well - is there such a pedal available that will give me a volume boost without changing the tone? Cheap and cheerful will do.
2. Wow! I've always been intrigued by these single pickup raptures but have never heard one or been lucky enough to have seen one in the flesh (wood?). Congrats! Let us know how you get on.
3.
He did but I'm not sure it was entirly serious..... It was hilariously pants though.
I'm afraid to say it was deadly serious... Might have been a bit more entertaining had tongues been planted firmly in cheeks.
4. I think popular 'Grumpy Old Man' Rick Wakeman used to be in a band back in the day.
5. Looks like Pete Agnew's Rick from Nazareth. Roger Glover had one with the same mods but his was black. Don't get me started on the shirt...
6. A used Spector Euro. You can get one for a silly price on here.
7. If you can hold out til March I'm sure you'll get one for a good price from Cort at the LBGS...
8. To echo what's already been said... I've never had any problem with Interparcel. I have only used ParcelForce once along time ago and although it went without a hitch I was most dismayed when I found out later about their insurance policy for musical instruments as the lady in the PO had charged me extra for it. Plus, I've read enough horror stories on here so I think they are best avoided.
9.
If you haven't played a festival before, it's great fun - because you can see everyone's eyes - something you don't get playing indoors where apart from the front row, everyone is in the dark. I love playing festivals in the daytime. It's not so 'theatrical' the lights doing very little, but the atmosphere works for me. I hope you have a great time.
This. It really is a wonderful feeling to play outdoors in the sunshine, nothing quite like it. Beautiful pic btw!
10.
Just to clarify, I'm looking for £650 on this. I can't seem to change that top price!?
Sorry mate, post amended. Still a massive bargain!
11.
I know this track but cannot get a handle on what part of it the 'tricky first bit' refers to. Can someone indicate the point in the track where this line occurs (e.g. 1.10 or 3.20 etc). Or write out the dots
It's the bit between the main opening riff and the 'verse'. It kicks off with that quick ascending run. I'm actually pleased to have stumble on this as it's the bit of the song I could never quite get right.
12. It doesn't look much like a Dalek anymore, sadly.
13. I bought Al's Gator pedalboard and power supply. Very nice it is too. I am pleased!
14.
This is why my idea of performing the whole of Styx's "The Grand Illusion" or Night Ranger's "Midnight Madness" has never got off the ground!
I'd go!
15. At least the bass was nice and clear! Top chap Lee Pomeroy throughout by the look of things (although I only watched the first 40 mins or so). I wish he'd used his Rickenbacker for the Jessie J set, that would have been great! Agreed though, most of the acts I saw were pretty horrendous. Just what is up with Paloma Faith's voice? Sounds like it's half full of cake.
16. I've got the magazine - wish I could afford the bass! Mate, it pains me that you're having to sell this. If anyone is considering this, the bass is absolutely superb. Just jaw-dropping.
17.
To answer your question - no! I've just bought one - love it
Any chance of some sound clips?
18.
That is a pretty arrogant assumption. Why must the OP provide a clip of something that is easily found online? Also, how can you say something like "most of the 'x' replies" where there has only been three replies, of which one was humorous.
In what way is my post arrogant? Pat Badger probably isn't very well known on here, that's all. And as for posting a clip, the OP doesn't have to do anything but if he had I imagine he would have received a more positive response. Not everyone feels inclined to go search the internet on a whim but if an example is given I know I myself would have a listen and help the OP if I could. No 'arrogance' there at all, genuinely trying to help the OP.
19. I've never heard of them I'm afraid - basses or amps!
20. I think most of the "it doesn't matter" replies are because not many on here are familiar with who you are referring to - maybe post a clip of the sound you're after?
21. Absolutely stunning. Wish I had the scratch!
22.
I've used a Sansamp BDDI for live and recording for years, more recently an racked RBI. In all cases, these were/are plugged into the effects return on whatever head I'm using. I just think these pedals give me more of my desired tone than just plugging straight in, so much so, my Ashdown ABM will probably be moved along in favour of a class-D poweramp at some stage. I rarely tweak, just plug in and play. P
This is pretty much where I'm at now. Tech 21 Leeds into an Ashdown Mibass effects return. The Mibass has more than enough juice but it's actual tone is far too clan and sparkly for me. In my old band I used to play through an ABM 500 and an 8x10 - bags of character already so I'd probably feel a bit strange about using solely as a power amp. I find a lot of these class D amps are fairly neutral in character making them ideal platforms for a Sansamp (or equivalent).
