1. As new, never used or taken out of the packet. Purchased for my Squier Bass VI but I decided to sell the bass before I got round to fitting the strings. Gauges: 026 .035 .044 .055 .075 .095 Heavier and far better suited to the instrument than the flimsy stock strings! These are around £60 new (if in stock!) - I'll do them for £45 inc. shipping within mainland UK. Could possibly consider trades for effects pedals.
2.
This. It's a Precision, all day long. It has a precision shape body, like the originals, and like all other precision shapes (albeit uncontoured) It has precision pickups and electronics It has a precision neck (maple cap was an option at this time, and can be seen on many regular sunburst contour precisions of the era) It has Precision on the headstock, applied by Fender. Regardless of what some bloke wanted when he went into a shop, all story, what was built, was a Precision. You can call it what you like, but thats what it is.
I bet he was pissed off when he saw what they had sent him...
3. Shipping now considered.
4. I nearly bought one, but was sadly crushed by how affordable it was.
5.
Thanks Barrie, get kettle on lad A punter recorded one of our first set numbers on Sat night apparently, on a mobile phone. As ever the quality is poor (and that's just the band) and you can never really hear the bass. It just about comes through in parts. Link below. 04:21
Link don't work :-( But, I am very intrigued by this amp. Appetite truly whetted!
6. Open to offers bump!
7. Not much attention yet... I think I've priced it fairly considering these were originally over a grand. However I am open to offers! Don't confuse this with the standard Epiphone line, these are much better quality and far more authentic.
8. Very tempted by the Catalinbread...
9.
Did any of these chaps have a thread about it? googleing isnt helping.
There was, but the search function on TB isn't very helpful... I suggest sending a pm to Tbird1958, he seems to be the sage of all things Thunderbird on TB, and I know he's replaced the tuners before.
10. He needs to get well soon, it's one of my ambitions to see a Beatle!
11. An 'upset at lack of attention' bump.
12. That's incredible!
13. Lots of folk on Talkbass have tried this. It seems you would have to fan them out to avoid them hitting each other. A pitfall of the smaller headstock. And those ain't lollipops either ;-)
14. Looks like Frankenstein! Beautiful bass.
15.
This man knows his Gibbos! Excellent fellow to deal with, give him money!
I'll second that.
16. Any word on the condition of the bass?
17. Up, up! Up up up!
18. I like it. It's like a John Deacon with an extra bit. Sadly I am unable to make you an offer as you have something else I covet far, far more...

20. For sale - My Epiphone Elitist EB3 in glorious short scale. I picked this up a couple of months ago after years of keeping my eyes open for one. Alas it's not really for me, after all that! Certainly a bit of a rarity on these shores. The bass is in superb condition, with just two small chips in the finish - one by the lower strap button and one on the rear of the horn. The rest of the bass is superb, neck appears pristine as far as I can tell. All electronics and hardware in full working order. The back of the headstock is marked '2nd' but I am unable to see why - unless it was the aforementioned chips to the finish. This bass is far closer to the original Gibson EB3 than the current SG bass, both in feel and particularly tone. It nails the Jack Bruce / Andy Fraser / Jim Lea sound and really comes alive with a bit of drive. The bass was recently set up with D'Addario Chrome flats. I also added a mod bar to the bridge (see pics) - this is removeable If you don't like it but it does wonders for sustain and tone.
