1. Good for you mate. I think those ash body Soundgears look great. ] I really owe it to myself to go back to Wunjos one day.
 2.
Take a pillow. For the love of god, take a pillow.
This. My golden advice. Also, a roll or two of loo roll. Because you never know.
 3.
http://youtu.be/z9nkzaOPP6g http://youtu.be/X3oDKmYh70M
I read that the resemblance was completely accidental, but when it was pointed out to them The Hives contacted Jeff Lynne to ask permission to use the riff and gave him a songwriting credit. So, fair play to them.
 4.
They are good they sound great, Fred Barchetta have a better singer I think ( the great Uriah Duffy on bass) really amazing . http://youtu.be/HodK8zn7xz4
Now she is good!
 5. Recently bought on here in a fit of nostalgia - one of these pedals served me faithfully for years in my drop B thrash days - but I've not much need for the noises it makes at the moment, sadly. And GAS always demands fresh victims! This is quite an interesting pedal, very unique sound with a lot of low end. Although it doesn't sound like one, it stems from the same world as the Boss Bass Overdrive in that it isn't setting out to emulate a driven amp, rather an extreme guttural growl. That said it performs very well on low gain settings too. The pedal has 3 main settings - clean, overdrive and distortion. Clean isn't really clean at all, adding a slight gritty treble. Overdrive and Distortion are similar, with Distortion being a more extreme version of the Overdrive. There are also 2 'attack' settings which emphasis the top end to varying degrees. These Ibanez pedals have a handy little feature called 'Tone Lok' (sic) which basically means the knobs can be depressed into the casing so the settings can't be knocked by accident. It's built like a tank and is in excellent condition, no marks that I can see. £35 posted. Of course collection is most welcome! 7.
I use Rotosounds on mine because Bass Guitar magazine gave me some for free.
FWIW, I do genuinely like these Rotos too. They may have been used as a convenience but they are still on there with good reason!.
 8.
I wasn't being nasty, but he said it himself.
Then why bring it up? Patronising at best.

 10.
Could always do some exercise.
Helpful.
 11.
I think I spotted a stool as well.
That's no way to talk about Robert Fripp.
 12.
Got an email about this yesterday from St. Davids Hall in Cardiff, where they are playing. "Oooh" I thought, " that could be fun, haven't seen them for years". Then I saw the ticket prices.....
I know, it's extremely expensive. But, I'm willing to pay it for such impeccable musicianship and quality.
 13.
Good job - I'll be at Hackney as well. Last time I was there was for a Wynton Marsalis gig a few years ago. It's pretty snug!
Oh, bollocks.
 14.
Would like to see KC but not with this yawn-fest. Sorry.
Have you heard the new line-up?
 15. I've got tickets! Courtesy of a friend with an O2 contract. Good seats too! Massively excited about this. Now I've got to spend the next seven months worrying about the legroom in the Hackney Empire...
 16. The 4001 was phased out in the early to mid 80s, if my memory is correct. The 4003 was it's replacement, although production of the two overlapped for a few years.
 17. I think it looks great. Far beyond what I would ever need, but I can appreciate the versatility and the desire to do something new and groundbreaking. Ashdown rarely get any credit for heir pioneering spirit, and I think they should.
 18.
Good afternoon, Budaman, and ... Please don't spoil your introductory post by turning it (even unwittingly...) into a sales ad. We have a Marketplace for that; read up on the Terms and Conditions, then post your ad(s) there, where they will attract all the attention they deserve. Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation; meanwhile... Have a nice day. Douglas
Sorry - my fault.
 19. Any pics?
 20.
I think the move towards hotter pickups will make it hard to get Squire's tone. On top of that, he did wire his bass in stereo and used it extensively as such. His tone is there on live recordings be it a Fender, Sunn, Ampeg or Marshall rig he is using (and any combination thereof). Having watched his rig rundown video, he clearly isn't a gear nerd but he knows what he likes! I think a bit too much value is placed on how much material was supposedly removed from the instrument during refinishes, though it will have had some impact.
Chris Squire only ran the bass in stereo from Fragile onward - on the first three Yes albums he's still using two rigs but the bass itself is still mono. If you listen carefully you can hear the pickups interacting. I managed to get very close to the fabled Squire tone with my humble 4003 with the vintage tone engaged, through a Line 6 Marshall emulation. It certainly achieved the top-end grit of those early albums, but of course without another amp it was missing those warm lows. I agree with you about the amount of emphasis placed on the whole wallpaper and subsequent stripping episode. edit: This isn't gospel btw, just going by my ears.
 21. Welcome fellow local chap! The Marshall sounds interesting!
 22.
So why include Jaco on a metal list?!? Weird!
Exactly!
 23. It wasn't an open poll to begin with - there was a set list of bass players to choose from. Hence no Entwistle, Sheehan et al.
 24.
Impressed that someone from Ashdown has taken the time to come on here and defend their product, but sorry, having suffered your amps in most London rehears studios in recent years you're fighting a losing battle. A few big names may use your gear, but they must be getting them as endorsements, since I'd rather use Peavey cabs and Behringer heads given the choice (and I use them as examples since they seem to be the only alternative in London). Plus, I know the bass tech for one of those names mentioned, so I know in that specific case your gear's only used since he's endorsed by you.
Your dislike of Ashdown is irrelevant to this thread and comes across as a little spiteful. How does your preference for Peavey and Behringer gear have any impact whatsoever on what other people choose to play? And as a previous recipient of an endorsement deal with them, I can assure you that Ashdown don't go chasing 'celebrity' users, or pay for product placement. All of the bassists previously mentioned use Ashdown because they want to. Same as me.
