1. I think there's a few of us on here anxiously awaiting the "it's on it's way to you " email!!!
 2. I've just been looking at this, pity it's so far away because I'd like to take a closer look at it
 3. Man, I was doing so well, being patient, telling myself the wait would soon be over, but now reading all this and seeing the pics I desperately want my Big Twin 2 to arrive!!
 4.
Instrumental Def Leppard tribute it is then.
Quality answer!!
 5. Bought an OLP MM2 from Stevie. Excellent communication throughout, bass arrived when stated, well packaged, he even threw in an old case to ensure it had a safe journey. Deal with confidence people, Stevie is a top man to deal with.
 6.
Living proof that too much pie n' chips and skin tight spandex/bandanas do not mix. I always thought Grim Reaper were the worst offenders: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGvU4XXntMk
Christ that takes me back a bit, I supported Steve Grimmett when he was touring with Lionsheart!
 7.
Yes there was, and with the measely 500w on tap from my sa450 it managed to pretty much empty the hall, as no one else could hear what they were doing at all, and URB and I got rather over excitred by the sheer power of this full functional [s]death star[/s] [s]earthquake machine[/s] [s]trouser leg drying device[/s] uber cab. Deep filter sweeps it can handle, slappity tappity nonsense it can handle, walls of distortion, it can handle, befuddled fat old geezer having a mad stab at his bass on mega war volume, it can handle - apologies to everyone who had to hear me (reckon they could hear it as far away as Dartford)! Apparently its rated to 1600w, it definitely goes deeper and far louder than anything else I've played since I borrowed the original Big One for a bit way back when - its much much more efficient than that cab was though, the tweeter is amazing too. Really really impressive. I would say there was no drummer, and no pair of rock guitarists in the land who wouldnt s*** themselves on hearing it. Fear the bassist with one of these beauties ya b*****ds! When Billy Apple ran it off his Matamp 200w head with the Big Baby as well it was utterly earth shaking too, sounded immense! Still grinning about it now
Reading this makes me a very very happy man!!!
 8. I understand there was a Big Twin 2 at the SE bash?
 9.
I love Cass!
My wife's cousin is a bassist, his band have supported Skunk Anansie on tour. Says he spent a lot of time at the side of the stage watching Cass playing. As he so eloquently put it "He's a cracking bloke, and he grooves like a bastard"!
 10. My wife is cool with me buying new gear. When I was about to place my BF order I thought I'd better run it by her as it was s lot of money. Gave her the usual stuff "it's much lighter and smaller, much easier on my back etc". Her reply " I'll give you half the money if it means you not waking the vicar next door up at 2am every sunday morning shouting "for f***s sake" because you've scraped your knuckles on the bloody door frame again"!! Gotta love her.
 11. Back bar of the local pub that rarely gets used. Can leave amps/drums/pa in place most of the time. Occasionally have to move it into a side storage room when a local darts team hires it for their home matches. All we have to do in return is a couple of free gigs per year, and even then the band gets a free bar.
 12.
Am I the only one who prefers the look of a metal grill to a piece of cloth?
No, the cab I've got on order has the metal grille.
 13.
I am close to chewing my own arm off waiting for mine.
+1
 14.
That scene was a lot of fun to do! The local arts and culture magazine described the video as: "...plays like Rob Zombie directing a Carry On film in a mental asylum..."
Brilliant description of a brilliant video!
 15. Did it years ago when my cab managed to get locked in a rehearsal room for the weekend. After much panicking we remembered we had a spare set of full range 8ohm PA cabs. Quickly tested it in our singers garage with an old Paeavey Mk3 head and it sounded great. Took it to the gig and it sounded fantastic. Used them several times after that too.
 16.
Brilliant film too!
Agreed!! Absolute quality!
 17.
What about the van from dumb and dumber?
Now that would be a great gig van!!
 18.
More likely is a 58 reg: either a Mazda 6 Sport Estate (if the wife will allow an estate) or hatchback version if not, or possibly the Skoda Octavia VRS in either hatch or estate versions.
I've got a 58 plate Mazda 6 sport estate. Nice car, drives really nice, good equipment level, fantastic Bose stereo ( some models come with a chemical repair kit rather than a spare wheel, in its place is a lovely Bose subwoofer) good economy. The only thing I would say is that the 2008 models had a 143ps 2.0d, which is what mine has, whereas my friend has a 59 plate 185ps 2.2d and it feels/sounds more refined. So if I were looking to buy one now then I' would definitely go for a 2.2.
 19.
I'm at week 13 almost anticipation is killing me!
We need a counselling group!
 20. I'm 8 weeks in and it seems like forever! On top of that I've sold my 4x10's and my 1x15 so am having to use my old 8x10 for every gig at the moment. At least it'll make the new cab seem even lighter!
 21.
Wham....Young Guns, Club Tropicana and not forgetting Wham Rap...that Deon Estus sure played a great bassline!
I love Deon Estus' playing, and his tone on Wham Rap is to die for!
 22. Since hearing it on a movie soundtrack, can't stop listening to this: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ziqJpsmzB9A
 23. There's an Ashdown MiBass 550 and a pair of 112's in the for sale section for £600 at the moment, or if you require more wallop there's a Hartke LH1000 there too.
 24.
I'm a Warwick guy therefore i have to hate Spectors, however that looks brilliant.
I wasnt aware of that rule, I've got one of each! Oops!
