1. Get yourself an iRig for about £20, download an amp app like amplitube or ampkit to a smart phone, purchase the Ashdown or Trace Elliot set up in the app for £3.99 and away you go. You can play along to any music you have on your phone or tablet through headphones. I'm only suggesting this as you said you're unlikely to be jamming with other people. Me personally, I'd probably ignore everything I've just said and buy that Trace Elliot combo!
2. Foo Fighters, seen them live loads of times and always come away thinking it would be my dream job.
3. Well last night wasn't quite as productive as I'd hoped! I ended up running a bit late so didn't take the 4x10 with me, thinking I had my 1x15, 2x10 and 8x10 there to choose from. Get there and the 8x10 is in a different room with the castors removed (it got damaged by someone there, so they are looking at repairing it for me), then realised I only have one speakon-speakon cable with me, i had a speakon-jack cable too but the Warwick cabs don't have jack inputs. Decide that 2x10 probably not gonna be enough with 2 guitars and a psychotic drummer so plump for the 1x15, which isn't ideal as I've never used that cab on its own so have nothing to compare to. Anyway, start with everything flat, bit of top end boost, and treble slightly boosted on my bass and have to say it was pretty good for an "off the shelf" setting. Finding sonic space with our 2 guitarists isn't always easy, one uses a slightly overdriven mid heavy tone while the other uses a more scooped dirtier tone, but the RH sat well in the mix. Needed a fair amount of top end boost on my bass for some tracks but given that my Tubepath head had bucket loads of top end available i knew i'd be needing a bit more eq to get the desired "sizzle" for some tracks but on the whole I'm happy. Obviously the more I time I spend with it in a live environment then the more familiar I'm gonna be with making necessary changes but on the whole I'm glad I went for it and bought the RH450. I think more worrying is the fact I've been sat here for the last 45 minutes on the Barefaced website staring at an S15, and I've just happened to sell an old car I had knocking about fr £1500!!
4. My last 3 heads have been a Trace AH350SM, Ashdown ABM500 Evo and a Warwick Tubepath 5.1, I've never had to work any of them particularly hard, even when running at 8ohm into a single cab alongside a loud drummer. So I'm hoping that unless the RH is drastically under powered its not going to prove too much of an issue.
5. I must say I've been impressed with how easily I've got a sound I like while just fooling around with it through my Warwick 4x10 at home. Everything pretty much flat, little bit of tubetone, with just a little bit of treble boost on my Warwick and it sounds great, really balanced. Obviously the proof will be how it sits in the band mix tonight but I'm sure it'll be fine! My 8x10, 1x15 and 2x10 are all at our rehearsal space at the moment so I might chuck the 4x10 in the car and have a little play about with various cab set ups while I'm there too.
6. Another satisfied customer, I never use anyone else.
7. I was looking forward to my first rehearsal with my new RH450 tonight, until I read this thread!!
8. Different cab I know, but the drivers in my Mag 810 are blue.
The TC is a good move. Getting lighter cabs an even better move. Stupidly I left it until after I damaged my back lifting heavy cabs. It looks like you've a lot of big old cab technology. You'd be surprised how good modern light cabs sound, and how loud the smaller cabs can get. The TC 210's and 212's sound very good with their amps. As you're already an owner I'd check out Warwicks for 5ers.
TBH I think the GAS for a 5'er will pass, I'm currently working with two cover bands and the hipshot's on my 4's get me low enough atm. Maybe at some point I'll get a cheapy to mess about at home with. Lighter cabs are definitely higher up the shopping list at the moment. You're right about the amount of old heavy tech I've got now though. The list of stuff which can be classed as surplus and moved on currently reads: Ashdown ABM500 Evo RC Ashdown MAG 810 Warwick WCA411 pro Warwick WCA115 pro Warwick WCA211 pro Sansamp PBDDI Korg DTR2000 Although I did discover on friday that some twat at our rehearsal space tilted and dragged my 8x10 sideways and the caster bracket has gone through the base of the cab, so looks like that'll be staying with me as a practice cab now!! So, I guess I've got some photography and ad writing to be getting on with!
Uh oh !
Uh-oh indeed! Certainly didn't see bass GAS coming. Strange thing is, I've never owned a 5 string, in my two current bands I don't really have any need for one, but the low B sounded HUGE, certainly brought a grin to my face!
12. Not sure how the dimensions compare but I had a Gator bag for my GT6B and it fitted perfectly, good value too.

Thanks guys. I do like the look of the Baer cabs, they are a little beyond my budget at the moment but as I said, I've currently got 2x10, 4x10, 1x15 and 8x10 cabs so i'm fortunately in a position where i dont have to rush into anything so I'm probably going to wait until the coffers swell a bit, shift on some of my un-needed gear and make sure I get some really decent light cabs. The coincidence with the trade was amazing, especially given how uncommon those tubepath heads are. My football match has been called off this morning so I'm gonna re-string my Warwick with its first set of Elixirs and spend some time playing about with the TC. Only bad thing to come from all this, when I went to the guys house to try it out he had a lovely Ibanez SR1205E which played like a dream, and now I can't stop looking at them, here we go again.......!!

NAD!

Have gone and done it, I've joined the lightweight gang! The band have been travelling to gigs individually more lately as we no longer have access to our van, which has meant humping gear back into the house in the early hours. So, after some research I'd decided that the features on the TC RH450 would suit my needs. Well one just happened to turn up locally, with footswitch and gig bag for £450. So off I went this morning, money in pocket to try it out. I should add that my plan was to advertise my ABM500 and Warwick tubepath heads, whichever one sold first the money would go towards the TC and the other would stay with me as a spare head. Anyway, whilst testing the head I happen to ask the seller why he's selling, turns out he's been hunting high and low for a Warwick Tubepath 5.1! So a deal was struck there and then! What are the odds, that I find an RH450, local, at the right price, and the seller just happens to be looking for the exact amp that I'm selling! Happy days. Only question is now, would it be daft not to get some lightweight cabs to go with it! Time to advertise my ABM500, Warwick WCA 211, 411 & 115, sansamp and Korg rack tuner me thinks!!
15. I'm interested in this too, as I'm going to try out an RH450 on Saturday with the intention of it replacing my ABM500 and Warwick Tubepath.
16.
Plus, you'd feel like a gay pixie on acid if you actually gigged with one.
You say that like its a bad thing!!
17. Looks like a Legend to me. If you can, ask the seller for the serial number and email the guys at Spector, they'll get back to you pretty quickly, their customer service is excellent.
18.
Always Jasmine Silk - link in my sig.
Just out of curiosity Nige, what made you start wearing them? (sorry If you've been asked many times before, but it's 3am, I'm at work, and far too lazy to search old threads at the moment!!)
19. I use one of my old football kit bags, plenty of space in the main compartment for leads, pedals, guitar stands, towel etc, and 2 end compartments which I use for spare strings, batteries, tools etc. Cost me £20ish and probably saw about 5 seasons of football action before being moved on to gig duties!
20. If money was no object I'd have 2 matching black Jupiter's to go on my living room wall, one on either side of the fire breast wall! And before I get flamed by the people who will say "basses are meant to be played", I said if money was no object, so I'd obviously buy a third one to play while I looked at the other 2! I think they are stunning creations.
21.
The NS2000 has an EMG BT preamp - not a Tonepump. Tonepump isnt notched.
Ah, that would be why it's different then!!
22. I love my NS2000, I imagine the Euro LX's would be fantastic. If I ever decide to move my Warwick Streamer on then a Euro LX will be replacing it. The tonepump controls on my NS2000 are notched in the middle.
23.
No, it's ow-ow ow, at 3.35. But not on the previous two times. Funny how you remember things wrongly!
Great song!
24. Where are you based? And could you possibly email me some pics?
