1. If you're willing to split and you don't manage to do a deal with Mr Bassman I could be interested in taking the head.
2. In my main band all 4 of us do other things on the side. We just have an agreement that the main band is our priority, we have a hotmail account which we can all access and keep the calendar up to date so we each know what the others are doing and when. For me personally, the side project is very important. It gives me chance to do stuff I can't really do in the main band, and that stops me getting frustrated. And as others have said working with new musicians doing new stuff can be like a new lease of life. Enjoy it, hope it all comes together for you.
3. I posted this a year or so ago. I think if I remember correctly this video is quite old, he's about 18 now, he's Brazilian i think and very well known there,
4. The Kilo looks a great piece of kit. I really wanted one before they released it, but impatience got the better of me when they kept pushing the release date back! I'm sure my back is quite happy about it though! I think that's what's drawing me to a RH450, great feature set like the kilo but a bit friendlier on my fragile back. Having said that, I heard a Kilo through a Mesa powerhouse 1200 a couple of months ago and it sounded absolutely immense, I imagine through the Berg it would have the same impact!! PS there's a Kilo on evilbay at the moment starting at £499 with a 12 month warranty and no bids yet.
5. Ampeg SVT7 Pro, or GK1001RB? Any particular reason for moving away from the RH450? I'm gassing for one but can't quite decide whether to pull the trigger or not!!
6. I used an ABM500 Evo RC for years and it never missed a beat.
7. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=pvu7Y91xUKM Only saw him once and he only did one song, but it was definitely a stand out moment for me. Bit of Pino on this too!
8. Mine was a Marshall 1x15 combo, not sure of the exact model but it was by far the worst amp I've ever owned. It was a hateful crock of sh*t. Just pure mud.
9.
Possibly a contender for weirdest post of the week. What does it mean?
Glad it's not just me that doesn't get it!! I thought I was just being thick!
10. Currently own Warwick 2x10, 1x15 and 4x10 so any 1 or 2 from those. Also have an Ashdown 8x10 but that tends to just stay at our rehearsal room more nowadays.
11. The Mesa powerhouse and Bergantno NV610 are probably the nicest cabs I've ever played through, unfortunately I didn't own either of them!! :-(
12.
I run my LM Tube through an EAD Foundation 212. I've used Aguilar DB's and GS's and I've heard a back to back comparison with a Barefaced cab (albeit an earlier one) and I've not heard better.
I love the look of those EAD 212's. Did I read somewhere that they are only building them to order now?
13.
I bet that's one hell of a car!
The S8 is superb, had the pleasure of driving it a few times. It feels like a luxury, elegant cruiser until you floor it, then all hell lets loose!
14. If you're not planning to go off road then an Audi RS4 or 6. Either way, to fit 3 cases in you'd need to drop a seat so unless you need the extra rear leg room of the 6, an RS4 would be ideal. Having said that, a friend of mine has an S8 with that V10 engine which they now use in the RS6 and its a beast of an engine( it sounds incredible!). If a diesel is what you're after, at my old job we used to use the boss's V10 TDi Touraeg for pulling loaded trailers. That car has some serious grunt, and was very nice to drive. The looks aren't to everyone's taste but I thought it was a very nice car.
15.
Motley Crue? I also remember some band somewhere that had to re-record all the bass parts laid down by the original bass player because they were so bad. I think it might have been a Trevor Horn produced track...was it Frankie Goes To Hollywood?
I can't imagine the other 3 members of Mötley Crüe would complain too much about Nikki Sixx as a bass player, they all became very wealthy due to his song writing, and his bad boy behaviour meant they were never out of the media in their heyday.
16. If you want to get to and from gigs in record time then go for the Porsche! A former colleague of mine had the Cayenne Turbo S, when I drove It i simply could not believe how fast it was, it was mind blowing, iirc 520bhp. Not sure I would have wanted his fuel and road tax bills though!!
17. You met Bruce Foxton and you're only just telling us now?! I'd have been screaming it from the rooftops, the guy was such a huge influence. Well done on the tv appearance though mate, I'll get the in laws to record it for me.
18.
So does my TS2 model
Sound wonderful don't they! The sub in the boot floor gives out such a kick!
19. Mazda 6 sport estate for me. If I've got other people travelling with me I put the small section of the rear seat down so my basses go in longways but still leave 2 rear seats available. 4x10, rack, great gramma pad and bag in the boot. Great on fuel and the added bonus that the sport model has a fantastic Bose stereo. I had a friends 55 plate Range Rover Vogue for a month or so, and although its a very nice way to travel to gigs, that boot floor is a long way to lift heavy cabs. Others have mentioned the Sharan, our drummer has one and its huge inside!!
20. I use one of my old football kit bags. It's got a pocket at each end, which are handy for strings, batteries, fuses, tools, torch etc middle bit for leads, towel, pedals. And the shoulder strap means its an easy carry.
21. My gig last night was, in a word "sh*te"!!
