Of course you have. If I said I've ridden a dinosaur, you'd respond with 'yeah, well I've ridden 2 dinosaurs'. We get it, you're winning at life at the rest of us, compared to you, are mere pond scum. 🙄

eBay are really quite underhanded with their latest round of marketing... The format used to be that a seller pays a fee to list an item and the buyer didn't pay a fee. Now the fee is transferred to the buyer under the guise of a 'buyers protection fee' and is charged at a higher rate than the old sellers fee. So now they market to all as 'free to sell' and mention nothing of the increase in cost to buyers. Legal sure, but very morally questionable. But hey, that's business for you!

Best just swerve these tryers. There's a number of regulars on here that are clearly dealers or at least semi-pro buyers and resellers that always have basses sat for years on end. We all know who they are! There's 3 options really: ● Price high and wait for years to sell if at all. ● Price about right and prepare to sit on it while until person that wants what you have comes along. ● Price lower and sell sooner. The market often dictates price, so crazy prices just won't shift!

GK2001RB at CC for £300
binky_bass replied to Mediocre Polymath's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I threw them a cheeky offer, they dropped the price online to £260, then someone bought it before I could! 😂 Oh well, I definitely did not need it! Hope someone from here got it. There is a Markbass SD1200 for £250 on CC too, now that is tempting. -
Dirt cheap if anyone's spine can handle it. Original Trace Elliot cone too. https://www.cashconverters.co.uk/shop/music-tv--video/musical-instruments/amps--stage-equipment/bass-amplifier/046500114258

Bit early in the day to be hitting up the shrooms?

Another reason to not have any social media... Genuinely, the world would be a FAR better place if it didn't exist at all.

Or, more likely, that auto-correct text has already started having a notable impact.

Delete if inappropriate, but this is the 'Deleted' message Phil Jones wrote - I took it from a thread on BassTalk. To those who know me, this may be my last message. I’m not writing for help. I’m not asking for attention. I’ve made peace with many things. But there is one thing I need to say clearly: Please take care of my wife. She is the best part of my life. She is young, kind, and unspoiled by the cruelty I’ve come to know. She stood by me with grace and patience, even when everything else fell apart. I have built many things in this life—loudspeakers, music, brands, and ideas—but nothing has meant more to me than being loved by her. I cannot let her watch me go down slowly like a sinking ship. So if I go silent, let this truth remain: Protect her. Defend her. Lift her up. She deserves peace, kindness, and a life far better than the one I’ve struggled through. This is not about defeat. It’s about preserving something pure. She was my home. She was my light. She is everything good I ever knew. This is the truth. My business did not fail because of bad ideas, weak products, or a lack of effort. It began to collapse because of something far greater—harsh U.S. tariffs,…. [Mod Edit]…. which made it increasingly difficult to sustain operations in China, where we were manufacturing. But I didn’t give up. I fought harder. I went out of my way to apply for a UK government grant—not to enrich myself, but to bring the factory, the jobs, the technology, and the future back home. It was an opportunity to save the company, protect the people working with me, and give us all something stronger. But instead of seeing this as a path forward for everyone, my business partner, Wendong Zhang, saw it as a threat to his control. He didn’t want help unless he could own it. He didn’t want a future unless he commanded it. And so—without my consent, without conversation, and without honor—he shut the company down. I was cut out of the very company I built with my own hands. I was erased from the work that carries my name. Not because I failed—but because I stood up. I gave everything: My designs. My loyalty. My voice. And above all, my heart. To be betrayed after all that… there are no easy words. Only this: I am still here. And I will not let this end quietly. Not for me. Not for my wife. Not for the people who still believe in what I created. If you’ve ever supported me, or cared about what I built—thank you. Now you know the truth.

Hi all, I need to make a bit of space in my studio for some other bits and pieces, so I'm looking to clear out my Laney/Eden mini rig. Up for sale here is a Laney RB9 300w head with a USA Eden Time Traveller combo. It is of course extremely important to note that the head part of the Eden combo does not currently function! I don't know why, but it doesn't. No sound at all is produced when using the head section of the Eden combo, it does all light up, but there is zero noise of any variety - hence why I've been using it with the Laney! So, the mini rig uses the Eden combo as a cab and the Laney RB9 as the head. It sounds superb as a mini rig as the Eden speaker is a fantastic bit of kit. As much as I have been using it as a mini rig, I'm sure the head part of the combo could be repaired, could be a fuse, could be anything - I don't know. So, £150 gets you a top condition Laney RB9 head with an Eden Time Traveller combo to be used as a cab. Cheap as chips for an excellent sound. 👍 Collection from Wickford, Essex. Any questions, please ask.

Most had already seen this in the for sale section and have already expressed its cool factor, this thread was about it's tone. So, sir... I have to conclude... it is in fact YOU that has missed the point. 20 lashes...

All those pedals could make a piece of string tied to a broom sound decent! The question is, how does it sound acoustically and going direct?

If no one used social media, this couldn't happend and quite frankly the world would be a far better place for so many many reasons. In principle, so many human inventions are originally designed for good and moral reasons, however, inevitably, we as humans coat that good intention in a thick, indelible layer or evil tar that can never be removed once it infiltrates the good.

25th May 2007 here. Was also on the old site! Be interesting to know how many people came from Bassworld and are still active on Basschat.

A fairly unique sound. Much like the appeal of a Rickenbacker and Warwick. They have their unique tone which not many other basses do a good job to replicate.
