Ibanez SR1306 Premium Reduced £630 - *SOLD*
binky_bass replied to Cameronj279's topic in Basses For Sale
I'm travelling from Essex to Motherwell on Monday, back again Wednesday... tempting as I might just be known to enjoy a 6 string bass or two! Don't really have the dosh for it though... if anyone in Essex (or thereabouts) is interested, I don't mind acting as a courier! Very much liking the 8 string Strandberg too... -
No such thing as too much Mesa 👍

The seller has been about as upfront as you can be, though the big red flag for me is that he says the clipping is probably due to them needing a new 12ax7 valve... in a separate listing he's selling 9 of these valves, surely if you genuinely thought that valve was the issue, and you have spares of those valves, you'd just replace them? Equally, he might not know how to do that! Semi-tempting, but a definite minefield of potential problems! -

£1270 despite the description... Definitely a good price but not disgustingly cheap.

Hi all, Selling my Eden Time Traveller combo specifically to fund the purchase of a very particular item that's currently available. These are essential an Eden World Tour 330 head in a ported enclosure with a 12" speaker. A tricky one to price for numerous reasons, but I'm going with £195 collected/tested from Wickford Essex as the WT330 heads go for more than that and this comes with a speaker! This isn't the cheaper Eden gear that's about today, this is the early 2000s proper USA made stuff. Its a cracking combo, not crazy heavy but not a feather either! Plenty loud, sounds crisp and articulate. Collection from Wickford, Essex. I do sometimes travel around the UK so if you're miles away, let me know and I'll see if I'm coming to a town near you any time soon! Any question, please ask! Will add better photos later.

Ever get that "Didn't realise how lucky I was" moment.....?

It's spans both time and space... it has no beginning, it has no end. Just middle. Ceaseless middle. -
The only good Oasis is the summer fruits one that comes chilled in a 500ml bottle. Right nice that.

The Happiest of Jack's kindly sent me a 26" TV for cost of postage - just the size I was looking for to shoe-horn into a tight gap! It was delivered within 48hrs and was very well packaged, even with it essentially being a freebie! Top marks all round sir. Another credit to Basschat. 👍

Two major milestone basses for me... My 2nd bass was a 1979 Black/Maple Ibanez Roadster. Definitely my 1st 'proper' bass, one I sold 4 times but always bought back. The last time I bought it back I vowed to keep it, and have managed to keep the promise to myself so far! That's milestone bass #1. Milestone bass #2 (and its a big one both literally and figuratively) is Binky my beautiful 10 string beast. I had him made during my Uni days, I'd never even owned a 5 string, I went straight from a 4 string to a 10 string bass! I ridiculous step-up, but one I do not regret. I will be buried with Binky. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say I've owned north of 2000 basses/guitars over the years (currently there's 40 odd around the house/studio!) and those two, for different reasons are my main 'milestone' basses I think.

I've had a few Ray's and currently have a Bongo 6 HH BFR which is a phenomenal bass. Personally, it's great for me and what I play (a lot of tap style and 'lead bass') so it being hot and cutting through the mix like a hot knife is great - for me. I can very much understand that it's not the right bass for everyone. If you're playing classic rock, covers standards etc, I'd probably not recommend it. But, that's just my humble opinion!

Or challenging them to a gladiator style pugil stick fight. That's always an option.

To play devil's advocate, and this doesn't seem to be the case with this particular experience, but I have bought things from trusted people where there ends up being an issue with the item totally unknown to the seller, so long as everyone is on the same page about coming to a positive resolve, then no worries.

I believe I may have owed 80% of all basses in existence at least for a short period of time... WAY to many have passed through my hands over the years to post. Here's a highlight... there have been, currently are, and will be many more. -
Went to Wunjo just for a browse, the bass guy said "please feel free to take anything off the rack and have a go". Even with this, I felt compelled to ask him if it was OK to try the 1958 Fender Precision bass they had - I was up front and said I wouldn't be a buyer but would love to give it a go, he said that was absolutely fine and told me a bit about the history. I gave it a play for 10 minutes or so, thanked him for being a gentleman and went about my day. Great service from Wunjo - even though I was there only to browse, I'm now probably going to look to them for sundries in the future purely because the guy was a gent and was happy to oblige a tyre kicker that admitted upfront about being a tyre kicker! Good show Wunjo. Good show. 👍

For anyone in the market... £299 seem pretty cheap for a T-Bird Pro. https://www.cashconverters.co.uk/shop/music-tv--video/musical-instruments/guitars--string-instruments/bass-guitar/046600077099

I had one for a while, they are good, but I found it extremely complex to operate and even once I was comfortable navigating it, I sold it because it was just too much of a pain in the arśe to live with. If you're OK with complexity and are happy with it not being super user friendly, then they are worth a look.
