  1. Just ordered one from Thomann for £235. Fancied giving it a try... Not super fussed about the wait though if it goes too much into the new year I'll probably request a refund. Hoping it might be here before Xmas... We shall see!
  2. Would love to have @Cosmicrain make me a 6 string Zoot of some variety. Been threatening to properly discuss one for years, never found the right financial time to do so yet! Maybe 2025 is the year...
  3. My 10-string is harder to play than my 8-string.
  4. Monkey Wrench by The Foos. Aged 15 or 16. School 'talent' show.
  5. Yup, instant turn off for me whenever I smell a whiff of AI in a description.
  6. There's no possibility (in my mind) that he can rectify this - even if he delivers the bass and even if its half playable, I believe you've had 10+ years of trying to get him to deliver. A bass you've paid for, had to fight for over a decade, and eventually (maybe) actually get, wouldn't class as rectifying the situation. I wouldn't want to own a bass associated with such memories, I'd sell it straight away, net whatever money I could and bought a decent bass.
  7. Firmly agree with @BigRedX and that doesn't happen often! 😆 Unless you 100% know they want something specific, don't get a 'bass related' present for a bass player! (IMHO) Nothing I hate more than getting a mug or a t-shirt with some loosely 'bass' related pun on it. Can't stand it! But that's just me... HUMBUG!
  8. Yes, because you're not the first he's done this to or the first to expose him in this manner, you're not the second, third or forth. You're probably the 20th or more. You severely underestimate this man's ability to lie and disappoint.
  9. I'm hoping my boy will have a passion for music too. Whatever he chooses to be passionate about, I'll support him. But obviously music would be great! He's already got his own little drum kit that he loves, fairly competent using the pedal and sticks... not bad for a 20 month old!
  10. @Zach - Caligula's Horse have some fantastic bass lines. A track called Autumn off of their album Rise Radiant has a great emotive (to my ears anyway) bass line.
  11. Another vote for the Cort A6, I've had a few over the years and they do punch well above their second hand price point. £350-400 or so for a decent second hand one would be a good price.
  12. You can't compare yourself against a baked potato, you're just setting yourself up for a fail... everyone knows that when it comes down to 'baked 'potato vs Mudpup', baked potato wins hands down! 😄
  13. Depends on how generic the order is, and whether the custom parts of the build are pickups, electronics, tops woods, hardware etc. If Jon is part way through the wood work I expect it'd be fairly easy to share a few snaps of a build he's done previously that's broadly similar to what Eddie is after.
  14. The man is a master of Bullsh*t, I'd not be surprised if he's just showing you 'stock' photos or videos of past builds. 90% chance he's still shining you on. Hope I'm wrong.
  15. Sounds great! I've currently got it paired with an Eden Time Traveller combo where the head on that doesn't seem to work any more, but the speaker is still does, so the Laney is acting as the stand-in head for that combo!
  16. Off Andy goes to place his Fodera order... 😆 Epic community spirit here...
  17. Lobbing a bit more into the fund off the back of a small sale. 👍
  18. To be fair, they were both pretty low value items, so minimal risk to me and minimal point for the seller to cause an issue by not sending them. I'm not sure I'd do it with anything worth more than a few quid though! Still nice to know that in the land of scammers that is online sales platforms, there are still good eggs!
  19. I was being (what I thought was obviously) hyperbolic!
  20. Get MDP in a room with Trump, Musk and Putin then remove the oxygen and we'd have a fine old planet!
  21. This is the exact spec of Rickenbacker I'd want if I wanted a Rickenbacker, which I kind of do, but also don't... I've always wanted one in this spec for many years but know that I'd never really play it as I'm firmly a 6 string bass man. Absolutely lovely though... If I had the spare funds I'd buy it just to scratch the itch!
  22. The 6 string with a flame top and 5 band EQ comes to a shade over £2000 using the discount codes, not investigated shipping though... tempting, but as I've never played one its too much of a role of the dice, that and I don't have a spare £2000!
  23. While I agree with you that BC should sit outside businesses buying basses specifically to flip, however if the seller lists a bass at a price they're happy with and someone offers to buy it for that price, I suppose you can't expect the seller to question the buyers motives or particularly care about who is buying it if their price is being met. I've sold basses on here at drop down prices before as I wanted them gone quickly, sometimes they've been bought and resold by members on here for higher prices as they didn't mind waiting longer for the cash. In principle, it's bad form, in practice, the seller gets what they want!
