  1. Ridiculous. The whole ad seems designed to confuse someone into thinking this is more that what it is. $2000 might be an achievable number, so he's about $60,000 North of reality in his asking price.
  2. Potentially it's due to the size and weight of that cab, for a 610 it is a bit of a monster! I had a 610 Mark Bass cab some years back, absolutely excellent things! If someone has a strong back, this is a great set up.
  3. Sent BD an email, they responded with the below. @yiorgos, if there's a bass you want, maybe talk to Bass Direct as the website you were looking at appears to be showing their stock.
  4. Seems that everything they have 'for sale' is just ripped from the Bass Direct site with a fractionally cheaper price. BASS DIRECT WEBSITE THE BASS GUITAR SHOP WEBSITE
  5. I'm pretty sure the picture of the Hofner on the workbench is in fact Bass Direct. Might be worth putting in the radar of the chaps at BD.
  6. How do you know he isn't... 🤔 He knows all your secrets too...
  7. From personal experience, I'd swerve anything made by Jon. The bass I eventually got from him (after having to resort to sending him a Letter Before Action) was not playable, the bridge was fixed and the intonation was way off - not a useable bass. The build quality was passable, but quite amateur in comparison to the likes of ACG, Shuker, Overwater etc. Horses for courses and such, but I'd not go near one of his instruments again for numerous reasons.
  8. The only thing with those kind of strap locks is that you can't easily switch straps/basses. They're great for a perfectly useful, cheap solution. Personally for me, I like to easily be able to switch straps between basses, so the Dunlop/Schaller option works best. Dunlops win out over Schallers for me, they just feel more secure!
  9. Fantastic wireless systems these... I've been using one for a few years now, never missed a beat. £125 is a great price too!
  10. It's about a 2 hour round trip, I can't get any closer than those 3 locations as I just won't have the time between meetings!
  11. I'll be in Merthyr Tydfil Tuesday late morning/early afternoon, then Llandow mid to late afternoon and around Cardiff on Wednesday. I have various meetings in those locations but if one suits you then I can meet you somewhere at an agreed time.
  12. Great basses these. I've had a few over the years - they compete with basses of a much higher price point. Good score sir! Enjoy. 😁
  13. A second hand bass, something that represents the best back for buck I can find in the classifieds! Play it for a while, maybe keep it, or maybe trade it on for something else and keep up a perpetual cycle of trading on and trying new things!
  14. Never had a Dunlop fail in 20 years of using them on 20+ instruments. Were yours legitimate ones as there's plenty of faux ones, as there are Schallers!
  15. Hi all, Given I've recently picked up an Ashdown CTM300, this amp/cab is now surplus to requirements. Its a great set up, very loud, sounds great, works a treat. The head is an Ashdown Evo II 300 - it's a UK made 300w head with the standard Ashdown features: Mute switch Active/Passive switch VU display EQ Section Sub-Harmonic dial Vol Gain Clean/Grind Valve drive DI Effects loop etc. The cab is a Mag 410T Deep 8 ohm 450w cab with tweeter. Carpet covered, overall good condition - works exactly as it should! I'm based in Wickford, Essex and obviously this is collection only! Though I will be in South Wales on Tuesday/Wednesday next week (12th & 13th Dec). Any questions, please ask!
  16. Jean Baudin and Yves Carbonne need adding please! Maybe Michael Manring too... 🙂 Oh, and Bill Clements too, because the man's a legend for using the bass to say FU to disabilities.
  17. @BassInstincts - could you not speak to Mark or Dave at Ashdown and see if they could send you one directly? Fortunately for me I live 15 minutes away from Ashdown, so have the luxury of being able to 'pop in', not that I've ever actually done that as yet!
  18. Dunlop Dual Action Strap Locks all the way for me. I have them on every instrument and every strap I own. Best in the market (IMHO).
  19. It's a CTM300. The bigger brother of the CTM100! Tis a beast.
  20. Spector Euros are fantastic basses. The quality difference between these and their US made counterparts is there, but having owned both, the price gap really isn't worth the difference. These Euros are absolutely excellent beasts. Makes me miss my 6 string version!
  21. I doubt you'll be disappointed, I think I've probably had 3 or 4 various iterations of these over the years, they always surprise me at how good they are for the price point, especially on the second hand market.
  22. What??? A Spector Euro at a reasonable price?! A rare thing indeed these days!
