  1. Smells like AI to me. SkyNet is coming for us...
  2. I had one of these for a good few years, beautiful basses with exceptional build quality, if a tad heavy! Lovely things indeed.
  3. Having heard rumours of Ken's 'personality' and knowing first hand the absolute fabulous quality of Brubaker basses, I suspect there's a good deal of truth in what you've said!
  4. Incorrectly wired jack. Take it back to your tech and get them to do it again properly! The battery should only be engaged when the jack is inserted in the socket, sounds very much like it's been wired in such a way that the battery is permanently engaged.
  5. Absolutely, no arguement there whatsoever. His designs clearly appeal to enough people for his business to continue, and as mentioned, his build work looks superb - and the website appears very professional too. Just because the body shape etc. is not my personal cup of tea, it doesn't diminish his skill in building these basses, and I certainly wouldn't be upset if I had the opportunity to play one!
  6. The build quality of the basses and technical ability of the builder look to be second to none. The design aesthetic however is definitely not my cup of tea - the headstock shape is inelegant and the body looks a little clumsy. It's a shame as Mark clearly has a great deal of skill, but the 'look' doesn't feel to be living up to the standard of the build. Genuinely the build quality does look fantastic...
  7. I've been into the future, it's mostly TimR explaining why the flavour profile of Sheba is superior to that of Whiskers. Of course, I fundamentally disagree.
  8. Look, can we just agree to organise a royal rumble style fight where everyone on basschat piles into a ring and swings punches until one person emerges victorious? Most threads end up being a virtual version of this anyway! It'd be more fun to see it happen in the real world! Fight, fight, fight!!!!!
  9. Is there no option to have some kind of blanket statement that says 'by using this site we agree to not sue Ped for any infringements of this new ridiculous act'? I for one will find a different reason to sue Ped, I don't need help with that! I also think that Ped, much like Brooks, is an institutional man, and actually can't function outside of prison. The twist to all of this is that this act was designed by Ped to keep him in prison... 'Ped Was Here'.
  10. I think that comment was more to say that some things that are illegal are so because of the 1% giving the 99% a bad name and some things (slavery) are illegal but still continue to happen despite it being abhorrent.
  11. The universe does, humanity doesn't.
  12. That's the same one as was mentioned before, as in 'not' the stolen one. Always worth a check though!
  13. It has arrived... A very nice beast indeed, very well set up (and I am a fanatic about low action). The 'crack' is there, but it's minimal. A careful touch up will hide 90% of it. Given it had over £1000 knocked off for that, it indeed feels like a great buy!
  14. You can buy the Squier off of me in a few months, purely to balance the universe. 😉
  15. Your excuse of already owning a 6 string cannot be accepted! I already have seven 6 strings... I still bought one!
  16. I've bought/traded hundreds of instruments from pictures only. Not had any issues. Many of these have been 'boutique' instruments, and most from this forum (and most from @Hellzero!) I certainly would not have had the capacity to view and test 99% of these in person due to them being either in different countries or 100's miles away, so I would have missed out on hundreds of fantastic instruments if I'd lived by your advice. Do you homework, be sensible, and you'll be fine.
  17. Ban everyone, from every demographic, from everything. Problem solved. Humanity will die out within a week or so and the world will carry on happier without us.
  18. Looks like it'll be delivered at 6pm tonight. Going to pop over to my Dad's tomorrow and borrow a smidge of one of his matt black model paints and give it a tiny touch up. It won't be perfect, but at £1000 off the list price, I think I can live with it!
  19. 25.5 - 27 so should be quite easy to get around.
  20. eBay. They don't usually bend more than 5% or so on the damaged stock. I have been seriously considering an 8 string for a while and this was in the top 3, I did mention that to them and that my budget was £600 at an absolute stretch, I guess they kindly took pity on me!
  21. I've had a hankering for an 8 string guitar for a while... I saw that Gear4Music had this 'damaged' Schecter C-8 SLS MS Elite Evil Twin up for £899 instead of £1600 due to a small paint crack around the volume pot that happened in delivery from the distributor. I sent them a message and punted an offer of £600, they accepted. So it's a £1600 guitar for £600... Pretty sure having £1000 knocked off the 'new' price for the small paint crack around the volume pot counts as a good deal! The Fishman Fluence pickups and Hipshot hardward are worth that alone. Looking forward to delivery...
  22. Lovely. It's has a JP/ACG feel to it. I have a feeling ACG took most of his inspiration from JP and Cosme... If you weren't in a different universe these days I'd have been in touch to 'see what we could do'.
  23. Never! It's been a fun sport over the last 20 years, buying, trading, selling on, buying something else etc... pretty much all of it second hand. So long as you buy at a reasonable price it means you can play almost any instrument, enjoy it for a while, move it on and try something else! Some have been kept long term, some I'll never sell, some went the next day!
