Hi all, Up for sale here is my Vintage V900 bass (pretty sure it's a V900!) It's an active bass, small body, nice and lightweight too. I've just put some 'nearly new' strings on it as the ones that were on it probably hadn't been changed in a decade! I've given it a bit of a set up and a battery change as it has sat unused for some years so now the action is nice and low (probably could go lower if you wanted) and it sounds and feels great! I'd say condition wise it's a very solid 8/10 with a few minor zings here and there but all very minor! It'll come with a Voyager branded semi-hard case as seen in the photos. Collection from Essex for £90 or posted (uninsured and at your risk!) for £100. Any questions, please ask.

I'll lob Binky in the mix...

I've already edited my post to remove that comment. I'd understood your comment to be suggesting just that one single line you quoted was the entire description.

Why did you have to post this? I don't have a grand to spare!

My guitarist uses an all valve UK made Series One 100w head and 410 cab that he keeps in my practice space and that I 'occasionally' use. Made by the same chaps that made Marshall amps. It sounds excellent and is absolutely a quality product. Never personally used their bass amps though.

Go used, buy both. Solved.

Bought a set of 6 Hipshot tuners from Nick for a great price on Friday, he posted them on Monday and they arrived on Tuesday and we're fitted 10 minutes later! A great transaction all round, really pleased with now having my Warwick LX6 back up and running with much better quality machine heads than the stock ones... @castlemaine22 is another credit to BassChat! Cheers sir. 👍 Russ.

Of course announced AFTER tickets have sold out... I mean it was fairly obvious his appearance would be very limited, and tickets would have sold out even if they said this before hand, but doing so directly after tickets have sold out feels very underhanded.

I have 5 ACGs at the moment, I think I've owned another 5 or 6 over the years. I have two 33" 6ers, a 34" 9 string, a 24" 6 string and a 7 string headless guitar. All are fantastic beasts. The 34" 9 is absolutely crystal clear across the strings - the glassy clarity of the treble strings really makes for a writers instrument. The two 33" 6ers are both Salace E-Type basses - my personal favourite body shape by far for looks and ergonomics. The Bs are perfectly useable, I'd suggest buying the ACG specific 33" Newtone Strings. The 24" 6er does suffer a little bit when played unplugged in terms of feel and sound because of the much shorter scale, but still sounds massive plugged in. For context, I've owned at least one of almost all known bass brands over the years from the cheap to the highest end boutique basses money can buy and ACG (as well as Conklin, BeeBasses and Warwick) are the ones I always come back to and certainly the ones I have owned the most of! It helps that Alan is a great guy to order a custom bass from, plenty of regular communication, questions answered very quickly and photos sent all along the journey. Sound wise, the below song was recorded with a 33" ACG Salace E-Type 6 string. https://open.spotify.com/track/3PQ5cf4uIpFgrZJojwHbMH?si=z0oZY-F7SgeW0ZoWP-tL0A&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A3rKKrxENJGOLArJ4sxEFpq This is the 9 string (when I was 7 stone heavier!) This is a Salace 6 33" (a very quick demo): And this is the 7 string guitar a few years ago with me just noodling about: Hope that helps! Happy to answer and questions should you have any. Russ.

I think you'll find that's a futon sir! But yes, screams dodgy to me...

Picked up this on Thursday. LX basses are genuinely excellent things... I've had a few top end masterbuilt Warwicks over the years and the LXs are really just as good.
-
To chime in, I've bought a few things over the years, some dirt cheap, some well over a grand. Never had a bad experience yet, found the team easy to speak to and quick to get back to me. Can't really fault them.

Definitely a fan of @Cosmicrains work. Love that 6er too... If you could kindly turn that picture into the actual bass and send it to me, I'd be much obliged.

SSSSW (Super Suspect Six String Warwick...)
binky_bass replied to binky_bass's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Mildly, the guy was decent, he rocked up with another big dude and I'm 95% sure he sent a younger guy to scout me out as there was a guy that turned up about 10 mins before he did and was very obviously looking at me as he walked back and forth a good few times... so while a little odd, all was legit. Deal done in a public space, cash only withdrawn after I'd seen the bass etc. I had asked him to send me some specific pictures before hand which he did and the background matched the eBay photos. So... not all that seems sketchy is sketchy! Though absolutely worth having taken a good number of precautions... -

It has been liberated. -
Dunlop Dual Design StrapLoks are what I have on all my instruments and straps - makes for super easy change overs from instrument to instrument. I've had Schaller before and while they are perfectly good, the Dunlops feel more secure and work for any instruments that might have recessed strap attachments like Warwick or Conklin.

Hi all, I'm going to sell my very recently acquired Squier Affinity Jazz Bass VI as A: as genuinely good as it is, I really miss 24 frets and B: Something else has unexpectedly come along that I 'must have'. It is absolutely brand new, touched by me for all of 5 minutes. I have all the original packaging etc. It is totally unmarked with zero playtime except for me giving it the briefest of test runs. These are £330 from most places and yes Thomann do them for £235 BUT there is a 12 week wait, so what I am asking is that same price plus postage without the 4 month wait. I won't reduce the price as I'd rather just keep it and I'm not after trades. So £250 posted to you or £235 collect. It's mint, it's genuinely exceptionally good for the price and it's all boxed!

It's an odd one, a few things have now changed on the listing too. I have had a bit of a chat with the guy, still not 100% convinced if I'm honest (various reasons). Will report back later in the week...
