  1. Lobbing a bit more into the fund off the back of a small sale. 👍
  2. To be fair, they were both pretty low value items, so minimal risk to me and minimal point for the seller to cause an issue by not sending them. I'm not sure I'd do it with anything worth more than a few quid though! Still nice to know that in the land of scammers that is online sales platforms, there are still good eggs!
  3. I was being (what I thought was obviously) hyperbolic!
  4. Get MDP in a room with Trump, Musk and Putin then remove the oxygen and we'd have a fine old planet!
  5. This is the exact spec of Rickenbacker I'd want if I wanted a Rickenbacker, which I kind of do, but also don't... I've always wanted one in this spec for many years but know that I'd never really play it as I'm firmly a 6 string bass man. Absolutely lovely though... If I had the spare funds I'd buy it just to scratch the itch!
  6. The 6 string with a flame top and 5 band EQ comes to a shade over £2000 using the discount codes, not investigated shipping though... tempting, but as I've never played one its too much of a role of the dice, that and I don't have a spare £2000!
  7. While I agree with you that BC should sit outside businesses buying basses specifically to flip, however if the seller lists a bass at a price they're happy with and someone offers to buy it for that price, I suppose you can't expect the seller to question the buyers motives or particularly care about who is buying it if their price is being met. I've sold basses on here at drop down prices before as I wanted them gone quickly, sometimes they've been bought and resold by members on here for higher prices as they didn't mind waiting longer for the cash. In principle, it's bad form, in practice, the seller gets what they want!
  8. Hi all, £70 Price is obviously for all 3! Close offers considered as I'd like these gone. Buy them to flip, to keep, to burn... the choice is yours! I have way too many guitars at the moment, so I'm looking to get rid of these three acoustics fairly quickly to make space for yet another guitar I've 'accidentally' bought! One is a 6 string Hohner - I think late 80s, generally good condition, plays well, it's been in my son's playroom for the last year or so - I've used it to play to him without worrying too much about him damaging it (which he hasn't!) One is a 6 string Clarissa round back from 1974 (I think!). Again, it's in overall good condition. Action is definitely a little high towards the dusty end and although it is an Electro-Acousitc, the pick-up currently doesn't work so its just been used as a standard acoustic. The last is a 1970's 12 string 'Hummingbird' type acoustic, it looks lovely (from a distance!) and plays ok when playing chords around the first 4 or 5 frets, but the action down the neck is high. Needs a little work and does have a few zings here and there. All in, there's 3 'vintage' acoustics here, all quite interesting and 2 quite uncommon. I'm not expecting the world for these as I'd like them to go quickly. Cash/bank transfer/Paypal on collection from Wickford, Essex only! I didn't want to put it in the title as it might appear that I'm trying to use a good cause as leverage a sale, but I'll be donating 50% of the sale price to the fund @Clarky got going in the other thread. FYI these have been advertised elsewhere prior to this ad going up for the same price without any mention of a donation (though if they sell elsewhere I'll still make the same 50% of the sale price donation). Russ.
  9. @petecarlton bought a Crafter acoustic bass from me, a nice and easy transaction! He met me aty hotel, did the deed, had a chat, job done! Another credit to basschat!
  10. Just collected a lovely Elwood 5 from @david1711. It's a beautiful bass, plays superbly and was exactly as David described. David was a great chap to deal with too, had a good conversation about his Status - would of happily stayed longer if i didn't need to get back to Essex! Thanks David, another credit to Basschat!
  11. I'm genuinely going to Manchester from Essex tomorrow, can we do it then instead? 😄
  12. This is when we find out that @Clarky is now on his way to Mexico with the dosh to start his new life with the funds! Well played Clarky, well played... 😄
  13. I reckon run it till at least close of play tomorrow.
  14. 19 hours and done... incredible effort team!
  15. I'd say share a photo of yourself in the wet room once it's done but that could be a tad risky... 🤔
  16. 8% left to go! Genuinely been enjoying watching this tick up during the day... Poised to raise a glass when it hits 100%!
  17. 56% in 14 hours... could have this all wrapped up by breakfast tomorrow! Go team BassChat!
  18. We'll all be coming round for a turn in that wet room once it's done!
  19. Lobbed in a little addition, nothing groundbreaking but very happy to contribute to a very worthy cause!
  20. They both look awful, now give them to me for 'disposal'. 🤥 Still miss my old ACG... though I absolutely love the EBMM BFR Bongo 6 selling it to you funded! 1st world problems at their finest... That new one with the matching Camphor top looks awesome, keen to see a photo of the rear of my old one next to your new one as they are essentially the same bit of wood!
  21. I believe the correct term for two thunderbirds is a 'storm' of Thunderbirds. Do you not want to create a storm...?
  22. Hi, Selling a few bits, just for the chop is this rather stunning Crafter BA600EQ electro-acoustic bass. It's in excellent condition, very few marks anywhere. Sounds spot on with a nice low action with all electronics working as they should. The birdseye maple top is rather striking, as is the back! I don't have anything sensible to post this in so it's collection only from Essex unless you want to take all the risk in posting! Any questions, please ask. Russ.

  23. Hi all, Got a few bits to shift that are surplus to requirements! Up on the chopping block is this lovely Epiphone Thunderbird. It's the bolt on version, it sounds as a Thunderbird should, great condition, very low action currently, bridge and truss are adjustable to your own preference. If you have extremely sharp eyes, you'll note that the jack input is missing the nut, I've already bought a replacement so it will come complete with nut! Everything works as it should, hardly a mark on it. £200 collected from Essex. I don't have anything sensible to post it in, so unless you want to take a risk on postage, it's currently collection only! Any questions, please ask. Russ.
  24. I'd wager that a HUGE percentage of these are him leaving himself feedback through a second account. He does the same with his 'books' on Amazon. The only positive reviews are by him on a second account.
  25. Ramp jumping sounds infinitely more exciting than twanging away on a glorified stick with strings! She made the right choice... 👍
